Stryker lock stopped because the costs of making the molds and figures went up too much to justify the costs for Mori. He'd have to charge $60-70 for the small figures(like the close Cordviper does for Death Trackers) instead of the $30-$40 that the price feels "right" at. Why charge $65 for a 4 inch figure when you could get an 8 inch figure for $80. The value just didn't seem their for Mori to continue.

In terms of availability RxH is currently only selling in Japan to people with Japan addresses I'm told, not sure if that's still the case but it was done as a pandemic measure. In general even prior to the pandemic he was real sick or people being dishonorable assholes and was pulling in more and more.

I dunno dawg. The Kickstarter only made $79,000. That's really not even that much when it comes to cutting molds considering a single mold can run well past 10k, and doesn't take into account the costs of running the actual figures, paintwork, labor costs for everyone involved, the supplemental artwork, or the music, the video game, etc. that were also involved in this KS. It's a lot to ask of a mere $79k, that money don't stretch as far as you imagine.

if you are that concerned over the increasing costs or a difference in price between the toys just stop buying them and get into burning candles. We know from what happened to detail line costs that the number of applications affects price more than the surface area of paint used. If you actually count the amount of paint applications on a standard Sincroborg, it's a lot.

I just opened it up anyways because I sanitize anything mail/food/store-purchases that I bring home because Covid precautions. So I did spoil it for myself due to that requirement. I sanitize any Glyos that arrive in the mail, including this.

Umm.....I do like this Dec AFOTM but you guys probably aren't gonna like it. I'm NOT going to spoil it but let's see if you can guess what aspect of this Dec. AFOTM would grind your gears...what about it would make you upset.

Dec is also a variant month, so I got 2 figures because I'm in the top AFOTM tier, so I got BOTH the figures. Glad I did. Still not spoiling it. You do get A LOT of stuff with this Dec. one though, including bonus ToyPizza stuff not part of the Dec AFOTM figure itself. Adding it all up, about $70-75 worth of stuff counting both figures. About $40-45 worth of stuff if you only get 1 figure in the mail. If you want the 2nd figure, well, hound eBay and maybe Brian will post it up for sale at a obscene inflated price. You'll buy it anyways. You know you will. One of you always does when you can't arrange a sale or trade on the Gylos or ToyPizza Discords.

I will hint to this. Someone on the ToyPizza Discord accidentally received 1 PIECE of Dec's AFOTM figures in a recent order from like 2 or 3 months ago. So if you can dig that post up, then you have a perfect idea of what Dec's 2 AFOTM figures are. That's all I'll say. Enjoy the Discord scavenger hunt.

Different anon, but I've been a partial afotm member for the year and I've mostly been pleased with it. The only figures I've missed out on are the Classic Suitman, Alexander (this one I really regret), and October's (which I couldn't give less of a fuck about).

Looking back most of them have been pretty damn basic but I've never really noticed. The combinations have been typically satisfying, like silver classic knight with cowboy armor and green eyes+scarf, or the purple and silver old knight with cape.

I'm even biased towards the Virkil because I'm a sucker for all black, but I think the simplicity works really well on the figure, and the human head's got a good look too with the little bit of paint it has. Same for Cen.

So over all I've been pretty damn pleased, but the CroMega definitely feels like a hard dropped ball. And I can totally see how a lot of these releases could have been disappointing for others too, especially when the next store release might be just as good or better. I can't really compare this to the other afotm years, but I'd say I think the value is there, and more so if you tie in the "exclusivity" of the figures. But I wouldn't say the value is huge either by any means, and some of the figures have been easy to grab off the shop post release anyways.

Anon is not lying. I got my December Afotm too. I opened it up. You'll just have to wait until Christmas to see the reveal and you will either love it or hate it. I am 50/50 on it at the moment. The colors of it are very bland but I think that is intentional because once again it seems Jesse is homaging Metal Gear Solid, namely the artwork style of Yoji Shinkawa. The two December Afotms are of characters from the kots fiction who haven't received figures yet. Yes, December Afotm is another variant month. You will get one color or the other color or get both if you are a God of the Slice $50 Patreon supporter. But don't get too excited as past afotm figures have been much better than this December's offering, in my opinion. So this is less a case of "wow, cool figure!" And more the case of "finally! A figure of this character!"

A couple of them were Goddamned amazing though, like the first two months, April, September, and October. Some of the material figures were actually great color choices, like the all silver Cen-5 and the black Virkil.

The back drop is just a bunch of pieces actually. The floor is some GI Joe thing I repainted. And the machine to the left is a GI Joe thing too. The orange crates and the cage up top are from Star Wars. In the ackground there's a Ready to Robot capsule and some scaffolding from a guns chain base. I've just got a drawer full of various bits to put together for pictures.

Heres some of those same things in the background of this picture. This backdrop is made of foam that I painted.
