Is this going to be the same size of the original or will it be bigger?

So I finally got my Virginie and my PGV girl trio is finally complete. Next I have to start working on their ride, a SW:VC Assault Tank, so they can all fit in the cab comfortably with the lid closed.
The "Assault Tank" (it's an armored pick up truck) is a great piece and I love the amount of detail that went into it. But at the same time I *hate* all the weird cut corners and design choices they made. Like how the main hatch is a removable piece when there's clearly a perfectly placed hinge seam molded into it so it could've had an actual opening canopy. Or how the driver seat is permanently raised so the driver always has his head poking out. Or how the captain's seat is actually it's own separate piece...but it's molded in the folded up position so the captain can't actually sit in it. Though it's not like they left any space for the captain to sit down to begin with.
That said, off the top of my head, this is the only armored transport type vehicle I can think of that has a proper pilot/co-pilot/captain style set up. Anyone else know of anything even remotely similar, with a fully usable cockpit that fits a crew of three or more?
>>9435225 I'm thinking it'll be the same size, if not only slightly bigger, then the original. But I also feel that this thing is Hasbro just testing the waters, no pun intended, for a possible Flagg re-release. Basically just an upgrade to the originals bunch-o-panels with a big central tower type deal. The size alone would be enough for it to garner lots of attention as a future Haslab, even if it only contains minimal upgrades.
Anonymous
>>9436439 I don't think the Flagg is at all financially viable. It would be substantially more than anything else from HasLab.
Anonymous
>>9436444 i honestly don't want Hasbro to do giant vehicles, because they're just way too fucking big.
Takes up a ton of space and i'd rather have more accurately scaled medium stuff.
pic is what I'd love to see instead.
But I'm hypocritical and would love a terror drome, despite not having any space for it. I'll fucking make space.
Anonymous
>>9436444 Well the Sail Barge was $500 for a 4" toy, but it had a lot of depth and levels and even soft goods. A Flagg would certainly be the most expensive Haslab ever made, but it could mostly be just flat panels, support struts and that one single tower...along side all it's other little bells and whistles. Basically, the two could end up using the same amount of plastic overall, just spread out differently, which is how the original worked.
>>9436454 For general releases, I agree with this completely. But a Haslab should be obnoxiously large, "biggest ever" type stuff. The Skystriker is such an oddity in terms of Haslabs because it is just another jet. It's the oddly small Haslab in a sea of literal giants.
Anonymous
>>9436467 >For general releases, I agree with this completely. But a Haslab should be obnoxiously large here's the problem: retailers really don't want giant sized anything anymore.
This is why there's barely any large and medium shit like there used to be in the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Only lines like Star Wars BARELY get them now.
So Haslab should try smaller stuff, especially with 1:12 shit. Not that i care for 1:12 shit.
Anonymous
>>9436473 >So Haslab should try smaller stuff ....you seem to not understand the concept behind Haslab. The whole point of it is to do those giant pieces retailers don't want, but a specific amount of fans DO want. These things don't see shelves, they're one time runs, direct to market items for people willing to foot the bill up front.

>>9445736 I think it definitely helped that it works for multiple scales, plus the extremely 'out there' design that certainly attracted more than just people who'd want a 1/18 helicopter or something. On top of the fact that it looks pretty incredible and has a lot of free upgrades to the base vehicle. Plus the fact that there's vintage O-ring style, modern 1/18, and Marauders's first 1/12 figures. Especially for people who got in on the early All-Ins (or sniped them as some cancelled), there's a lot of value in (I would even say all facets of) the package.

>>9445745 I'm looking forward to the extended backer kit for the Vietnam stuff more than this actually.
I suspect the extension gave them some add-ons that they were originally going to have to unlock and I'm hoping for Space Dudes or Divers.
Anonymous
>>9445775 I'll admit I'm only vaguely familiar with the Vietnam stuff. I've been disconnected from 1/18 for some time, and also 1/12 desu. I just went in on the Roboskull because of how unique it is, and fits a lot of the aesthetics I enjoy. It's also a a fun tribute that one of the pilot's will have the likeness of the original Roboskull's creator. I wasn't originally going to, but in the backer kit I may actually get a second 6" figure so I can have him as the pilot, and another one as a trooper with the claws. I'll give it some thought.
Anonymous
>>9445745 I'm hoping they come out with some more off the wall stuff like this. I have tons of armored 4x4s already, I need crazy skull mechs or sick dragon faced tanks or some other pure metal machine that can fit a full crew of figures.
>>9445775 I almost forgot about that...and I'm glad it was extended. My bank account has been hit hard these past few weeks, and MTF being smart enough to not let their backerkit overlap with the Skullitron was a fantastic move and just another reason they're one of my favorite toy companies around.

Not sure if anyone is interested or even remembers this project. But the M.A.R.V. 4x4 is actually up for sale. It was a failed KS that sat around for a while, but the guy running apparently just went ahead and made the thing anyway. It looks pretty nice, has a very beefy vibe going, and comes in a few different color choices. If I didn't just drop so much on the Skullitron thing, I'd probably grab one of them, but as of this moment the toy budget is drained. Hopefully they stick around until after the holidays, as I can always find a use for a good, basic, heavily armed 4x4.

I want a MRAV because i don't have MRAV. Someone mentioned the JoyToy one, which i thought about buying, but looks too much like a monster truck vs the Wayward Goat's that looks the real deal.
I have a boatload of vehicles, with these being the ones that would fit in a simple comparison for my Russian radar truck. I have another Abrams, another Bradley, another Warthog, an LAV, another of the green trucks, a bunch of the same model HISSes, another acid rain mecha, construction vehicles, even more scale cars, and boxes full of GI Joe vehicles. Plus whatever I'm forgetting, like an EF Little Bird... star wars vehicles.... etc.
Variety is spice.
oh, and i just remembered i DO have a MRAV looking thing, the Mattel Jurassic Park vehicle, but it's a gimmick toy that pops open so nothing can sit inside it. The back is open, so at least shit can lay in there and can work as a dio-piece.

The former is truly incredible, easily the best and most detailed and spacious vehicle I have in this scale (not saying much as I have very few) but is also by far more expensive than many alternatives. The Mando troop transport is nice and I actually like it just a little more than the tank because it fits more people comfortably in general and the two pilot chairs up front are pretty much the same. Personally, I originally only wanted a trio of the girls, which I got. My fourth was just an impulse buy because the blank figure looked so nice and came with tons of stuff.
Even if they were readily available in stores, I'd probably hesitate to buy more. But having to do emails and middlemen and all that, I'm fine with what I have so I'll leave that to those who really want these fantastic figures.

>>9496820 Because the most popular 1/12 brands are child-tier horseshit. Imports like Figuarts, Figma, and Revoltech offer a lot of articulation but most collectors go after stuff like The Back Series or Marvel Legends and other drug store bullshit
Anonymous
>>9496820 not really better than 1:12, if so I would love to see.
The 1:18 scale being smaller makes it more fun to pose in random nice spots, like this planter

So what's your opinion on these guys? Where do they stand in your rank of modern cobra troopers? Are you army building them? I think they look OK, a bit to fortnitey and what bothers me the most are the huge ass feet! I think I put them at number 2, with PoC trooper being the best still. Distribution sucks though being walmart exclusives is such a bullshit. Cobra Trooper Power rankings 1.PoC trooper(also 50th ann) 2.fortnite troopers 3.DG troopers (very economical paint job) 4.25th anniversary
Anonymous
>>9496820 >>9496887 >>9496904 Real reason is because 1:18 scale interacts better with environments because of how small they are, making their poses look more natural too.
Most times, 1:12 poses look claustrophobic due to the background and just overall smaller staging.

>>9496994 I don't have any myself, mainly because I don't really like how exaggerated their proportions are. But I do hear they have superior articulation to the PoC figures so that's certainly a plus. If I didn't have so many of the PoC/50th ones already, I'd probably get these guys, but I'm happy where my troop numbers currently sit.

I’m regards to scale, 1:18 is just the funnest to play with, they’re perfectly sized. 1:12 is the best overall compromise in terms of 1:6’s detail and 1:18’s play factor but they never really hit the spot for me. It feels like the difference between playing with Lego vs Duplo bricks.

>>9497105 >Most times, 1:12 poses look claustrophobic due to the background and just overall smaller staging. Freakin this. I love 1:12 but trying to make environments is difficult because for anything to not look claustrophobic it has to be huge. I tried for a while and made a couple of big dioramas, but I've no space and years later I end up getting rid of them making my room a more comfortable place again and packing figures away.
