Has anybody here heard of an online store called capes4minifigs? I was looking to get a Vezon set recently and his cape rises up the price considerably, but I found that these guys make reproductions for like $5 each and ship worldwide.
They say they're made of 100% polyester, and from a youtube video I found (it's one of the first results when you look them up) it seems to be very close to the original fabric.
Does anyone here have experience with them? I'm heavily considering going for it.

Well I have Carapar and Iruini's heads so that's fun. Plus a few near-complete Rahkshi, Lewa Nuva, and a triple amputee Gadunka. Figure I'll fix them up over time.
That all said, there's another lot several hours away from me. Ton of parts from across the line, but the only titan seems to be Toa Ignika. Really debating the trip for him alone, assuming the mask is there.

Yeah, Frost is great, I really liked how slim his profile was. He's basically the only one that'd actually be aerodynamic. I think it's Frost and Onyx for me. I never picked up the Boss, but he seems like a pretty fun build.

The playsets were really lamely designed; they were always just generic black frames with gigantic bionicle weapons/masks slapped on, and they called them buildings. Shit never looked like anything from the Bionicle world, fuck off. Only exception to the rule was the aforementioned gold Visorak, and the Toa Terrain Crawler ofc. God that thing was cool, I wish I had it.
Worst part is systemshitters always point to those crappy playsets to say "See? SEE? Bionicle playsets will never work, cope seethe and MALD >:)" just because they were terribly handled. I fucking want villages and action setpieces and giant Rahi n' vehicles and crazy sci-fi Metru Nui buildings and whatever the fuck, it'd all be awesome... buildable tiny technic/mixel Toa would be rad, man.

Magnetism + black brings iron sand to mind, but that would usually be for temporary constructs rather than a permanent tool. Maybe something like a small blade that gets bigger by attracting stuff to it? You could make some kind of modular build to reflect that.

There is a little axle hole on the side of the rhotuka launcher. A pin/axle would allow for the ripcord to be stored via that connection.

Magnetism includes a broad range of powers focused on magnetic pulses and whatnot, Iron is more metal generation/absorption. Both can manipulate metals, but magnetism seems to be limited to attract/repel and movement.

part of what made them suck to me was the minifigs. The inika minifigs looked okay at least, but the mahri mini figs were off model as fuck and the hordika minifigs were like shitty board game pieces. I get that it's really hard to make a good bionicle minifig but goddamn the official ones were awful, completely turned me away from buying the sets.

in kindergarten through 2nd grade I would almost always bring a bionicle in for show and tell. we did the thing where everyone would guess what you brought based on clues you give them (I remember one of my clues once was "it's even older than the dinosaurs" because I interpreted the "in the time before time" line to mean that the bionicle story takes place on earth before biological life existed). picrel is everyone's face when they correctly "guess" that I had a bionicle for the 15th time in a row

Made a Tohunga rebuild in studio with the original body. The hip articulation is kinda shit, but I wanted to keep the piece count down. Definitely ways to improve that but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out

I have this one memory of one of my classmates bringing a Bohrok to school when they just came out and before I got one and I asked to play with it on recess, he was cool with it. I had it in my hands for maybe all of 10 seconds until I tried pressing the lever and the technic gears skipped and got stuck (I dunno if he just built it wrong or what) but he flipped the fuck out when he saw that happen and screamed for a teacher because I broke his toy. I had to sit out that recess because the dumbass apparently thought you couldn't take a bionicle back apart again or something.

I'm pretty sure my school quickly banned bionicles anyway, like all other schools.

Set!Makuta, and movie!Makuta at that, is a big hulking metal goliath, so attaching the long n thin Rahkshi legs to his BIG MEATY THIGHS and GINORMOUS STOMPERS doesn't look right.
Hell, movie!Makuta was based off a prototype model so he's mostly alright, I just dislike his tiny claw hands and his mask. I wouldn't mind a design that gave him the Satan goat legs, just that all the ones I've seen have either limited his ankle movement for the sake of stability, or redesigned the foot entirely, neither of which I'm into.

The fandom is huge. It's just widely decentralized, and many of its fans are fairly casual. TTV and BZP are a minority consisting of many of the most dedicated fans, for better or worse. But other fans are everywhere, ones who love the series still, they just don't actively participate in a centralized community.

The initial reaction to the Bionicle games announcement and contests was a big indicator of what the size and scope of any decentralized count of Bionicle would be as there were a good 200,000+ views and circulations for the game trailer (though you'd have to count the soulless rehashing of the trailer release in Leftist game sites in that factor as well which could detract if bots were used to bolster the count).

That’s part of what I like about it, though. Not only does it give him more of a connection to his Rahkshi, but also somewhat changes his personality to more of a cunning powerhouse.

I haven't paid attention at all, nor will I ever, to what the fuck all this TTV shit is, but I think Greg still being involved with Bionicle's fanbase is the root cause of it. So long as there's a "word of god" authority of any semblance, this is going to be the end result, especially if it continuously mingles with fans and allows them to contaminate the canon. Not saying he did this intentionally, or that it really even matters since the toyline is long dead, but it's the consequences of sticking around for so long.
In my opinion he should have just compiled all the cut content, history, and prototype notes, etc and released them over a span of a few years and maybe did a community Q&A every now and then, but should not have actively stuck around on the forums and let fans "add" to the canon. The extent should have just been "I like that idea and I think it's cool". Letting fans decide what's canon or not is always going to cause stupid rifts and communities that have overinflated egos because they have "word of god" on their side.

Pretty good for $65. VN is smaller than I expected, Skirmix is a lot bigger, and seems to be most of a Kikanalo clone. Interesting to find out that the head and neck involves an entire Av-Matoran torso.
Very exciting to finally get my hands on a Jetrax and complete my set of 08 vehicles. I also now have four Takanuvas.

It's so strange that his arms are one-jointed when giving him full articulation would've literally just been one extra limb piece on each side. Most of his leg design resembles Tuma, but the backwards piston helps his hunch a little more. The way his head is mounted is very loose because it's a Hordika neck on a pin, not sure if that was meant as a play feature or something.
Even with those shortcomings, I really think it's in the better half of titans overall. The Phantoka torso usage is really cool and he certainly feels more inspired than Icarax.

Lose points for using those masks on the shoulders though. My autism flares up when people use 'rare' masks for armor. It sucked when Teridax and Maxilos did it and it still sucks now.

On its own, pretty alright man, it's a great build.
For my personal tastes, it's not spidery/insect-like enough; he looks like a normal centaur. His limbs need to be more thin and spindly, and his claws/spider legs need to be way more pronounced and longer. I'd also expand out the area his legs connect to sorta like the original build, just not as big, instead of them all coalescing at a single point.
I'm a bit of a purist for the original look/impression that the sets gave off, so what i look for in revamps are designs that improve the techniques used or add poseability, while still leaning into the original look. Yours is more of a reimagining, and it's a good one, just not the kinda moc I'm looking for if this's me we're talking about.

What I mean is that any official nod to Bionicle, whether by Lego themselves or third party, they seem to routinely fuck up something. Either a character is built wrong, they mess up the names, or they pull something like this, where they put a figure with the team from another wave. Examples being the Lego House Bionicle display, that one Makooti bit from that Terminator show, or this. Nobody seems to be able to get it right.

Took apart the Jetrax to properly build it, turned out to be missing several weapon pieces, but I had the spares.

The "makooti bit" was a commercial for the 2003 videogame, and was intentional because that was the bloody joke.
The terminator scene was something else, but the character accurately described the plot of 2006, even if his diorama featured Av-Matoran. At least the writer cared if not the prop masters.

Finally my technic/Bionicle pieces are separated from my Lego pieces and my bootleg/mega blok pieces. Took 6 months on and off during free time to individually check what brick was what. This hasn't been organized since I was 4 so I'm super hyped cause now I can rebuild all my old sets once again :)

comfy, I did that a few years ago for my bionicles and I'm currently doing that for my legos. I did a pretty good job at keeping my technic seperate from my system and I remembered all the bionicles I had, so it was an easier process back then.

There are a few other pieces that are only in a few other sets but in very low quantities (dark green spike only appears as 1x in every other set)

On a related note, the handful of lots I've bought in recent weeks are really quite something. Ton of sets, but also a ton of missing pieces, some just bewildering and I know will add up quick on bricklink
So many heads and torsos are just gone, and some parts are just vexing in general. Nonetheless stoked for getting back the titans I had to sell about 2 years ago.
Also random extra bits. Hahli Mahri's legs and claw, Vamprah's mask, 2 OG Takanuva masks, etc
Going to probably sell some of the dupes/shit I don't want (Phantoka, for example) to try and cover the costs of rebuilding the titans I do want.
Also really trying not to get tempted to do Gadunka-titty MOC for shits and giggles

nothing wrong with galidor really, it was a fine buildable action figure toyline. Its only problem was being released by the same company that was also making bionicles at the absolute peak of bionicle's popularity. Literally the only reason I have any galidor toys is because people would accidentally buy them instead of bionicles for christmas and birthdays.
