I just assume everyone who has a hobbie budgets appropriately for it. No one bats an eye at the person who buys $200 worth of clothes in a weekend. They can probably afford it. Same with my toys. And explaining that always makes people’s reaction feel unnecessary. So no, I don’t lie. But I can imagine your sister probably told everyone who would listen about your “expensive” Batman so I could see why that might be irritating.
