>>9457190Forgot to mention yeah the CGI was insane. If it had been shitty it would have ruined the entire thing. I kept wanting him to appear and pick up the pack but I think helping Phoebe was a much better way to do it.
>>9457193Yeah that was a flaw for sure. I didn't mind so much that it was going down the Gozer route, but only because once I saw Walt Disney Shandor I thought oh shit he's going to toss Gozer aside like in the film and take over himself. Like he assumes all the powers, but also all the rules, that Gozer is governed by. Everything could have played out the same after that just swapping Gozer for Shandor.
I'm curious how well future films can do without having Egon so heavily rooted into the heart of the movie like the other anon said. Phoebe is great as the new Egon and podcast despite his name grew on me as a quirky not-Ray. I'm not looking for exact stand ins, but those two really stick out to me as what they were going for. Trevor is fine and once he stopped trying to get into Lucky's pants he became a dependable character. Lucky... was there. She didn't feel like much of a character but I didn't hate her either.
Despite the whole not believing Egon thing the movie was great at taking its time. It needed like an extra half hour to really flesh out the ending but it had heart, effort, and good intentions to it. It legitimately tried to make a good GB sequel. Ramis may not be alive but he was certainly one of the best things about the whole film.
