It's It's very impressive figure. There articulation in the upper body isn't hindered at all because of the shoulder pad system used. The ankles and thighs aren't that great due to the nature of the design. It's definitely not a toy, though. The plastic quality is decent, but some areas feel kind of thin (the shoulder pads, most of the black sword, and the Spikes on his head. I feel like if too much pressure is applied there, they will snap. It's even more jarring since I recently got Figuarts Cooler (another Spikey guy), and not only is the plastic much heftier, the head Spikes were smartly made in a sport of rubbery plastic so you don't have to worry about shit snapping off.

Still, great figure and it'll look good on my digimon shelf. The cloth cape is also fantastic, and I say that as someone who usually hates cloth capes.

I've had my preorders canceled by Amazon more times than not. I've missed out on many figuarts that ended up shooting up in value because Amazon suddenly realized they didn't have enough stock to fulfill all the orders. They always give me my money back as well as additional credits to compensate me...but its still shitty. It's always a crap shot when I decide to preordwr with Amazon.

Also, my Digimon shelf is getting crowded. This is a problem I'd never thought I'd have....

Not ideal, but if you're interested Dukemon is currently up at HLJ and Alphamon at Amiami (both were previously sold out, so some people are probably cancelling preorders, you could try to wait). HLJ has its hold and Amiami can ship a monthly order all together, so either option, if there is some in-stock stock coming once they release, you would be able to just add them all in together.

I think it's a more forgiving vpet. Which I know isn't the draw for people interested, but I really enjoy it because of the minimal effort it takes and that mild feeling of accomplishment I get for an evolution line I worked towards.

Any good screen protector recommendations for the VB? I fucked up and hit mine on a hard corner and cracked the shell at work, so I've ordered a cheap opened one to swap parts with.

Was hoping for something more than a soft film just in case it happens again and I'm not lucky enough to find a deal on parts.

It's only speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised. With the VBs being the main Digivices I can't see them not putting the proper ultimates in Dims at some point.
I'd imagine in that case they'd at least make the entire lineup outside the main lines different.

Seems pretty obvious that the real Ultimates aren't there - most of the other DiMs have four Ultimates on them while Gammamon, Angoramon and Jellymon only have three; what's more, it seems odd that they only have unique forms up until Perfect form, then suddenly only have older Ultimates to choose from. There HAS to be a unique Ultimate for each, and if there isn't some way to retroactively patch them into the pre-existing DiMs after the forms are officially revealed in the anime, they have no choice but to release new DiMs entirely for them. I'm expecting something along the lines of the GP DiMs, which trim out he 'filler' forms and leave only the main chain.

As >>9490206 said all the data is on there. I don't think there's a reasonable expectation for their to be patches. I'm not familiar with the tech they're using but I guess in theory if the Dims have a receiver of some sort that could interact specifically with the app, then maybe it'd be possible, but I don't think it can receive data in a traditional sense, and I doubt the VB would be able to do such a thing. That would be some good foresight if it could.

To update a DIM theyd have tonfirst sell you another device, one which would then inherantly make piracy much easier.

Much easier, more convenient and profitable for them to just say "gammamon 2.0 is here. PO now!"

pretty sure the band can update dims, it can record VS battle result, the biggest question is if the band has the space for an update, and piracy is already easy as fuck anyway, so it won't matter much

Also that would be alot (relatively) of data to be downloaded to the watch via NFC to then be downoaded on to a DIM.

Thats all just my Hunch though.
Still much more brand-like to convince you to just buy a new one.

The bracelet has next to no memory, which is why it's entirely reliant on the DIMs and why it needs DIM card checks if you happen to have two entirely different cards stored on your VB.

All that aside, this is Bandai. They will absolutely sell new DIMs for the Ghost Game trio.

It's pretty much just pointless. They're stuck on the device as they don't transfer to the app from it.
It also counts as one of your entries so you're stuck with using the DIM on only that or one other device.

Can you plug a dim into your pc if you have an adapter? Because they can and probably would update the DiMs through that method. They've done it with other products in the past. Im sure som of you wouldnt know if all you follow is digimon but this isnt new for them

can? yes, but only with a special adapter, you use an adapter that can write eprom, Ch341a, and a micro sd reader attached to it, maybe there is a way to make a special driver to read dims with a regular micro sd reader, but I doubt bandai would do it

The only ponderance was if theres blank spots to be filled on the VS dim. Or if the VB forcably overwrites the content.
And its gotta be that the programming on the VS DIM specifically is written to allow the VB to write to it (unlike a standard DIM) or the VB would write over ay dim you stuck in it.

I wish it required more out of you. Once you max it to Mega and then max out the vitals there is literally nothing else to do with the watch itself unless you just wanna see how many trophies you can get or clear adventure mode stages. The color sprites and neat features are a good step but the fact that it very quickly reaches the point where it requires zero maintenance out of you is a big step down. I'm still using mine after months, but there's periods of time where I've flat-out forgotten it's on my wrist because it's all too easy to literally ignore it since it doesn't really want you to do anything to actively maintain it.

I guess my thing is each DIM is basically like an egg on the original digivices. And on an older Digivice, just one Egg, or hell just one evolution line, I liked that you could continue to actively care for whatever the end result of your labor was, by simply trying to keep up with their eating/sleeping/pooping habits. Here, the fun you can have with one egg is very limited in comparison because the only option once you've finished one line is really just to start over. It just sits in your watch otherwise. Completing DIMs really is fun, but on older Digivices, you could complete eggs AND regularly engage with your Digimon up until you forgot to feed it one day. Here it's really just completing eggs - the newer model is also needlessly generous compared to the original VitalBracelet, though at the same time the original was too punishing.

MD5 is a checksum of the file, if the numbers are the same between 2 files they are identical, it's used for when you donwload for example an operating system and want to check if the ISO don't have problems, that way it won't have problems installing, htere are a few ways to check it, you can use a site like this:

I just got one of these guys on a whim.

I was a little disappointed that the screen hasn't changed in 20 years, but all the newer features absolutely make up for it.

Those little devices (akin to sd cards) put the Digimon into your VB (Vital Bracelet or Digivice V). When they're in the watch, you walk around, do physical activities, little bonus 'missions' like shadow boxing or running in place, and your Digimon will also battle in automatic battles here and there. As time goes on it'll evolve, and depending on the steps, trophies, battles won, it'll evolve into one of a few choices.

The phone app let's you store your Digimon (a limited amount) and also battle with them on there. If they're hurt or sad you can also cheer them up and heal them there (or just wait it out).

Quick primer. There are also lots of videos and guides out there if you want to learn more.

Depends what you're looking for. This will be smaller, cheaper, and more anime accurate. The Amplified is bigger, more expensive, and a much more detailed design.

I've got a couple Amplified kits, and one more coming, but I really like these 'design accurate' kits, so I'll be grabbing these as my primary collection (hopefully they keep spitting them out) and Amplified if I really like the designs.

Phew, I thought the cap for items in the VB app was 99, but somehow I realized I've been sitting on 120 Raid Tickets. I know it's for kids but I gotta say I wish the app weren't so generous. Arena Battles are fine to do as dailies but it's too easy to get in a cycle of doing them and getting your mon's vitals up without ever losing because of the crazy powerful items and the money you always get. I know you can self-regulate but even when I don't try very hard I am practically swimming in rewards.

I do like when Raids show up though because after a certain point Raids become "challenging" (tedious, really, if you don't know enough people) and you start to really have to be more frugal with your money and weigh the risks of repeatedly throwing your Digimon in there knowing at later levels they could lose at least 5 times in a row if backup is inadequate. Definitely the best part of the app.

I'd just want them for collection purposes, as the Digimon on there are pretty bad, but I'd also like to have the real deal if I'm going to bother at all. Some of the item reviews say "wow real, what a deal" while others say "working replica" in some way, so that's not very helpful, and from the discussion above it doesn't seem like there's really way to know for sure, especially if you don't have the item in hand.

I would assume for the 2-packs they're all safe, since they're packaged together, and not in these little baggies.

If this is truly the case then they are not very good at enforcing their own rule. Some stores will mark items as "china ver." but lots of others don't when they're clearly selling bootlegs of SHF or whatever.

I get what you're saying, but for a collector of these things, I don't think you'd expect them to be happy if they got one and paint scratched off or something and underneath that was an Agumon Dim. It'd be like saying to an SHF collector, just grab the bootleg, it'll work more or less the same way, and if you put it in its pose and throw it in the back, you won't even notice.

I think you can assume if the dim is still in circulation it's legit, because no monetary gain from making a fake dim from another; rare/out of print dims on the other hand are probably replicas using other dims, ancient warriors and shadow howl are the biggest offenders, maybe impulse city

DIMs do seem a tiny bit more fragile than your average SD card, but I havnt seen many reports of them just lemoning out. Guy must be unlucky.

Guys, wtf is going on with the NFC battles? I have a Gammamon and its fighting Betel Gammamon then even Brachiomon... I won't be able to evolve the way I want to at this rate because my W/L is so bad. I guess I'll have to wait until arena battles are back up so I can get to 70%...

I would have figured that NFC battles would be limited to your current level or lower. I already had bad enough luck losing to Gammamon that dodge 4 of my shots in a row and hit all of theirs, I don't need Champions let alone Ultimates also beating me down. I can't see how proper evolutions would have even been possible before the app.

Theyre totally random.
You can flee by holding the bottom button on the red splash screen so you dont need to punch above your class.
Though winning above your class will give you a relative crapton of vitals.

First: You can only battle Digimon present on the DiM you're currently using. Second: You can face Digimon one tier above, one tier below, or the same tier as the evolution your 'mon is currently at. So a Gammamon should only be able to face other Gammamon, Betel Gammamon, Gulus Gammamon, Kaus Gammamon, or Wezen Gammamon. Betel gammamon should be able to fight all of the above plus Brachiomon, Canoweissmon, Chimeramon, or Tankdramon, and so on.
Just going to throw this out there for you, but the Adventure Missions don't have random bosses at the end of each stage, either. There's a set order to who you fight: the Gammamon DiM has a Gammamon for the boss of stages 1 and 2, Wezen Gammamon for stage 3, Kaus for stage 4, Betel for 5, Gulus for 6, Brachiomon for 7 and 8, Tankdramon for 9 and 10, Canoweissmon for 11, Chimeramon for 12, Ultimate Brachiomon for 13, Aegisdramon for 14, and Chaosdramon for the final stage.

I can assure you that using the NFC I have encountered quite a few Brachiomon by this point (I think 3) out of probably 25 battles. No other ultimates though. My Vitals are around 1600 on Gammamon, so idk if that affects anything.

Its weighted towards that for sure.

Not saying that isn't exactly what I did. I was trying to use two at the same time but clearly that's a bad idea due to how slow the switching is. I also didn't know what I was doing so the app said the NFC timed out here and there, the app wasn't ready, etc.

Doing 2 could still work, but I'd stick with the same Dim if I'll be using the app a lot.

Trophies from earlier stages don't count towards future evolutions, right? So if I have 10 during Rookie, if I need 15 for the Ultimate I want, after evolving I'll need to get another 15, right? The bracelet goes back to 0, but the app seems to keep track of totals, but I assume that's just to know, not necessarily for evolution purposes.

Also, hard missions, I've read that you can wave your arms/shake the watch to get 2 trophies rather than doing the exercise, as it's a more reliable way of getting the actions done quicker. That's kind of unfortunate, it'd be nice if it realized no one can do like 4 crunches/second, for example. Ah well, unless I get really down to the wire I'll probably try to stick with the actual actions.

And just to double check, if I stop an evolution by holding the lower button on the evolution screen, that means I'd have to wait the full amount of time that the evolution would normally take again, right?
