>>9516518Max Force were my shit! I had most of them, including the really shitty smaller ones that came out near the end and weren't practical at all. I also had the coveted Warthog chain gun, but it never really came into play during the Nerf battles my friend and I would have... Fuck...
*insert oldman memory haze of a bygone time fading in*
There we were, was it 1994? packed into that tiny room I stayed in in my mom's trailer. My buddy would go on one side of the room, hidden behind a pile of whatever we could get our hands on, be it storage bins, pillows, blankets, cardboard... And I'd be on the other side of the room behind my fort. We probably had about 5 or 6 feet of dead space between us, where brave souls would risk popping out of their fort to refuel ammo with stray shots that ended up in the middle. Most of the time we'd play in near-darkness, but we had a very sensitive light switch with a target hanging on it just enough to hold it into its off position. This target could be shot for the lights to turn on, and there was no more ambiguity about where anyone was hiding.
So many salty matches when one of those darts would strike us in our eyes as they peeked out (it was usually me that got eye-shot) My favorite gun was the Eagle Eye (I think it was called?) because it had a laser scope that wasn't very accurate, but it was super cool in the dark and it helped me at least see where he was.
Funny thing is that just a few years ago, in our 30s, we set up his kid's playroom in the attic just like we did some 25 years ago and we had another Nerf battle after the kids were put to sleep. Great times. I need to get in touch with that guy now.
