>>9507088 yeah those look a little strange to me too, particularly since they're lighter and slightly tinted, whereas the movie painted nails are darker and that was the only time they had colored nails before now.
but I guess it's just part of their "the original sculptor put this detail in, but Playmates didn't paint it, so we will paint it" attitude. The turtles themselves have been the most experimental of the figures (probably because they know those will sell regardless) so theyve done more weird shit like alt heads, extra belt buckle details, etc.

That's a great idea, and they probably should have stuck one in the diaphragm too under the sweatshirt, but their execution sucks. It's not a difficult thing to get right, companies have been doing ball-peg systems in the waist without issue for awhile now, you can't just have the torso sitting on top of the hips like that and expect it to look good. And the way his sweatpants flare out at the top should have made it really easy to make sure the torso sat lower with a double ball-peg. You would get a more functional joint that way that's also better looking.

I have a bit of a dumb question since I only have a few NECA figures. The Turtles in Disguise figures are notacibly more shiny then the previous turtles (and none of their other recent non-turtle TMNT figures soon to have that problem?), I've got a pre-order for the Turtles in Disguise re-release coming out early next year - what are the chances they will fix the shininess?

>>9512331 that's a totally valid question. I don't know how well anyone will be able to answer, maybe give some precedent or what
I will add that I've just noticed those disguise heads also look like they come from different animators than the standard heads. an interesting way to add variety..

>>9512331 >that's a totally valid question. I don't know how well anyone will be able to answer, maybe give some precedent or what Thanks very much. I was thinking of a few instances where they fixed some flaw in a 2nd release pretty soon after a 1st release, like the Phantom figure having purple wrist joints with beige paint on top that flaked off, when they did the new figures again (granted, a recolour rather then a re-release) they gave him beige wrist joints.
But yeah, I am expecting theses will probably be shiny as well.
