That fucking sucks, but at least I can get him in some capacity.

So I'm mainly interested in getting the fun looking aliens and background characters. I'm getting Ponda for sure, getting the updated Storm Trooper for Christmas. and I gotta look for a Tusken Raider. Did they ever update the paint on the Gamorean Guard? I feel like the first wave of those guys looked rough.

If you actually paid attention, this rumor existed because licenses need to be renegotiated when ownership changes hands. Mattel was the bigger company back in 2012, so they had more money to shovel into Disney's path.
Obviously, Disney allowed Hasbro to renew their contract because they were making a boat load of money. In fact, in 2015, financial people were saying Hasbro saved the Disney princess from Mattel, because of waning sales on dolls.
You can't break a contract without stiff fees and lawsuits, so even if the contract wouldn't need to be renegotiated like you seem to believe, there was no way Disney would just give the license over to Mattel just because they were buddy-buddy.

My assumptions are based on how licenses are written. YOU, however, like >>9506278, are making assumptions based on absolutely nothing and are creating some cartoon drama to replace how licenses actually work.

See pic in how they have EIGHTEEN months before the contract expires to reup. This is how licenses are written almost universally. Again, this points toward how Jazwares up to over a year to decide if the license was worth what they paid for. Again, this shows that the licensor had to solicit the license to other hopeful-licensees because Jazwares didn't want it or thought it was too expensive for their actual sales are.
Again, even McFarlane dropped the license because it was was too expensive for what its worth and no one is picking it up.

The licensee paid up in FULL whatever the licensor wanted for the license and the licensor & licensee want to have a GOOD relationship together. There's no reason for them NOT to give the licensee the ability to re-up first. This i s why it's so common.

To not include it is to show bad faith and its sometimes NOT included because the licensee was already warned. This likely happened with Mattel, since they have so much money to push through to still renew, but had so many failed lines.
Only other way it wasn't includes is if Jazwares negotiated way ahead of time that they weren't going to renew it.

Again, all you're doing is creating some cartoon drama, when the fact is that real life is extremely boring. Companies make plans YEARS ahead of time, which you and 9506278 can't seem to wrap your heads around.

Shit has to go EXTREMELY wrong for a license to be stripped away suddenly, and not even Mattel had it suddenly pulled, despite their failures.
The fact Jazwares continued producing toys with such a high budget till the very end shows that Jazwares had no problem with sales, EXCEPT that those sales weren't high enough to make the license worth keeping the 1:12 rights.

It's relevant to the thread, since it has to do with how most other companies no longer focusing on 1:12 and producing more smaller figures.
As mentioned in the other thread, if shit continues the way it does, even large companies like Hasbro will be faced with needing to go back to the 1:18 being the main toyline. ... or just lowering the budget on their 1:12 figures in order to not increase the price again

Again, show some proof to back it up. There's no reason to believe that Jazwares stuff wasn't selling in order for Fortnite to take the license away from them. There's no reason to believe the license wouldn't have first rights to reup. Again, again, again, Jazwares shit all came out like planned, with no budget cuts, fulfilling their contract with Fortnite to the fullest. All stores continued stocking the toys all the way until the end, showing that retail supported the line all the way to the end.

And why all this arguing? Because some people think 1:12 is still the dominant scale, despite the fact that almost every toy maker has been focusing on smaller scales. Only the big companies are able to soldier through falling sales/raising costs. As stated, it's only a matter of time before it hits Hasbro too.
We've already seen them raise the price on their toys and that was based on the previous year's sales. Current conditions are even worse and supposedly not going to change for more than a while.

For black series, I have no idea why they haven't done a cheap $15 brown box trooper like they did with marvel, a $30-$40 trooper 2 pack like they did with Power Rangers or Marvel. Especially when it comes to clones you can just reissue the exact same set; same tooling, same box cutout, but in different colors.

Why no extra accessories, I'd guess that maybe the guns are now part of the tooling with the figure, instead of a separate one? they used to throw in a carboard box of 6 random guns in the saga legends line, so I would have guessed those were their own molds.

Considering they're charging the same price for the Mando Trooper that comes with a single small blaster and the Jedha Trooper coming next year that comes with 2 blasters, a pauldron and a backpack with no additional deco, I'm convinced they just have no fucking clue what they're doing. Either that or they're doing what TFs have been doing and spreading budget across waves rather than across figures.
I just want to see something like that First Order Trooper that came with a SAW, bunch of extra blasters, shields, etc but for Imperial era Troopers or Clones. That and honestly a fully fresh Clone mould at this point, the original one they're still using is showing alot of age next to the new stuff.

Like the TCW Obi Wan where he has chunks of the old clone mould but also new bits that make him feel like a modern figure. I get that tooling is expensive but like, the Imperial era Troopers are selling out everywhere and everyone I know is buying at least 3. Clones are even more popular than that among people in their 20s and early 30s and we're still missing any kind of modern release other than the Phase 1 basic troopers and the 501st. I think recommending anyone to jump into TVC right now isn't very fair. Delays, prices increases and availability are real concerns. It's happening with the Black Series too, but at least you have more of a shot finding them in store or online compared to TVC. Shore Troopers are cooler.
They look like they have much more maneuverability than the regular Storm Trooper. So it's easier to envision Storm Troopers as being heavily armored for tight spaces, where they need to soak up the blaster fire, like in spaceships, space stations, and other locations with a ton of choke points.
Used in major cities, that is tightly controlled. So they're mainly at check points and used for raids. That cumbersome armor is heavy and they'll get tired if used in extensive combat.

Shore Troopers would be used where they need to cover a lot of space out in the open. They can work in conjunction with the Empire's infantry and are there to capture/destroy key enemy installations. They're also used to patrol important locations, where being on foot is necessary.

I was able to show that I did it 16 times in a row, and in one of those instances I just waited a few months, and decided on a whim to check to see if they restocked the item while pre-ordering the Shoretroopers, and my patience paid off. I could have gone on ebay and bought the Stormtrooper set for $75 or $100, but since I waited I got them for $41.99.

I'm glad there's a limit to be honest, so it makes things fair and stops people from buying 10 sets at a time, just so they can have 40 or 50 troopers at $10.50 each, or have some scalper buy up all the sets and then throw em on Ebay. I'm content with owning 8 troopers. There's already plenty of opportunities where Hasbro has given us additional Stormtroopers and continues to do so, such as that new deluxe one with the ankle rocker, or the one in the Bespin playset(I know they're technically different). They've given us plenty of ways to supplement them.

I'd certainly like to see them explore and expand the concept, with droids and aliens. Hasbro can honestly keep making these easy repaint/minimal tooled sets all they want and I'll buy them. Ideally I'd like it to cover just about all the expensive army builders as 4 packs at one time or another.

10 sets is precisely the amount I would have bought had there not been a two set limit. No, because they cant' absorb the cost with another figure.

Pic related is Boss Fight Studio explaining why their Red Knight BBTS exclusive cost more, explaining that with a knight figure being part of a 4 figure wave, the other figures could typically absorb some of the cost, but releasing it as a stand alone figure prevents this, and passes the expense onto the customer.

You don't seem to get price points. The figure isn't going to drop significantly in price if you do that. You're just going to end up paying more for less instead of getting those pack-ins, because Book of Boba Fett has 4 main accessories that he needs: His two guns, his backpack, and his unmasked head. Basic TVC figures don't usually have that many accessories. The whole point of those extra pack-ins is to make the figure's higher price more palatable.

It's very rare. One of the rare occasions we got a second head recently was Bo-Katan and she has 3 accessories, not 4. Examples would be like the Royal Guard, who was a repack. I think the Mythrol's the only real recent example of a newly sculpted figure with 3 or 4 accessories, but he doesn't go as far as having a second head that's fully painted like Boba Fett or Bo-Katan.

I brought that up because it's a Boba Fett figure that was actually deluxe.

At no time in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, or 2010s was a Fett; Boba or Jango "deluxe" unless it came with a lot of extra junk.

They also recently reissued the Royal Guard that comes with 2 helmets, a painted face, the pool cue, the vibro staff, a pistol, shoulder pads, and a removable robe.

ESB Mafex Boba Fett - yay or nay? I have the model kit, which I love and put some time into on the paint job and modding it but it has its problems. Would it be worth getting the Mafex? I missed it the first time around because I was poor at the time and I don't want to waste this second chance with these preorders available. And I'm fine with the Black Series one as my ROTJ version after fixing the helmet and repainting so I don't really want to upgrade that one yet.

I honestly love my ESB MAFEX Boba Fett. I couldn't be happier with it. The issue is, he is going for almost double the price now. You also have the wild card he is a re issue, so it's possible he could turn out different. I doubt it, but you never know

Gotta love shelf dives... My Black Series Clone Wars Anakin took a dive off my shelf from waste high onto carpet but that was enough to snap his lightsaber. Frustrating. I have a few soares of his saber sitting in an accessory box so I guess it isn't the end of the world. Just none with a peg to plug into his belt. Yeah I can still use the hilt on the one that broke to plug into his belt but it bothers my autism.

How do you guys deal with this kind of shit? It's really not a huge deal since I have sparee but now it's always going to bug me. Is anyone else this autistic?

Might try heating up a needle or small safety pin and sinking it into what's left of the peg. When it melts through and cools you might be able to pull it out by warming up the hilt a bit and working it around. I looked at mine and it doesn't have too big of a mushroom on the end of the peg so I don't think it will be a ton of trouble.

No QC issues that I have ever noticed. They were really forward thinking and even made the wire detachable so it can't break. Like the other Anons said, currently it's the best Boba Fett (and screen accurate) in the scale

I doubt it. There isn't much room left for them in that tray. And they probably justified it as the ARC troopers in BF2 only use pistols anyway. The TVC has more bubble space so they could pack them in there and when TBS Echo came out, he was on a card with a larger bubble so they had the room to do it. Kinda lame but I personally have a ton of extras sitting around so I'm covered there but it's lame when they skimp out, especially with the exclusive price tag.
