>>9514514The issue with combiners IMO is always one of being in a weird place for compromises; current third party combiners compromise on functionality and playability because they have stopped making combining toys and instead went for the set piece/exhibition buck so their combiners look "good" but they don't work for toys, you pose them once or twice and forget you even wanted one; HasTak went for affordable and functional in their compromise during with Combiner Wars and Unite Warriors but that meant repeated molds, light plastic, wonky joints, and questionable proportions. They are still better toys than the big third party overalled behemoths but they don't look as good
The one exception I can think of are the Iron Factory combiners which are pretty good but they are legends scale. They don't have to worry about being affordable, being accurate, or dealing with heavy limbs because they are not made with exhibitions in mind, are small with thick plastic pieces, and sell to a group that isn't concerned about paying 70 dollars for a 3.25" jeep robot.
