Artakha has the same power level as Karzahni, which is probably comparable to that of Brutaka. Also I think that Artakha did interfere just not in person, he guided Toa to weapons, armor, vehicles etc.

The waters of the Pit and the Swamp of Secrets mutated creatures because Mata Nui's heart (the core/Karda Nui) was basically irradiating the waters from all the energy leaking out of it. Same energies that caused Takanuva to become gigantic or the Av Matoran to be larger in size. The waters immediately around Voya Uni weren't mutation prone because of the distance, you'd have to get close enough to the Pit to actually be affected.

The area surrounding Karda Nui both inside and outside the GSR were basically like Chernobyl (even with funky lightning as Karda Nui had a small scaled "sun" caused by the waterfalls of Aqua Magna reaching the core energies) except only exposure to water had effects on the creatures bodies.

My point is that it allows technical imagination with “how can I build this?” To fantasy imagination with “what world do these characters live in?”
I won’t link it but that one art of the Toa Hagah recently annoys me because it’s the same generic art style that every “popular” bionicle artist makes these days. We talked about a certain group of people last thread, and yeah I hate them too, but the problem is bigger imo. The real problem is too many mainstream, consumer, and worst of all, UNIMAGINATIVE people seem to be making themselves known as bionicle fans. They want the official LEGO authority to legitimize their own imagination, they want to define everything, they want to have everything explained, when that just reveals they probably never owned a lot of sets as kids not because they were poor but because they preferred to just read world-building and lore shit online.
It’s these people that I would say are “ruining” the bionicle fan base. Loud, unimaginative consumers.
Overall I’d say the average bionicle fan is a mid-twenties guy who goes “bionicle? Oh yeah I had some of those as a kid. They were so cool!” And then would talk to you for a few minutes as his memories come back to him and he’s happy to relive his childhood thoughts and experiences with bionicle. Those other annoying people are just a loud minority amplified by the totalitarian control over the internet by their authority figure mods n sheeeeit

Here's a Vortixx Weapon Master I made a while back. Not the biggest fan of her upper legs, but I was messing with proportions at the time. She has an interesting silhouette at the very least. Hip articulation is junk. Any fixes?

Ooooorrr it could be that the artstyles just look good, and professional? The winning Helryx art was real nice and it didn't look like that, and I really liked Galva's Hagah submission that was rendered with 3D models. Really it's only the winning Hagah and Artakha art pieces that have similar artstyles, and even then it's probably coincidence since it's two different artists entirely. They're just styles that compliment Bionicle characters really well, and looking at the Helryx/Artakha losing submissions, or just, Bionicle fanart in general, there's a fair degree of varying artstyles, so I've no idea where you're comin from regarding that.

Belive or not but this server has a mod that like the dude you described. I saw the post made in the last thread and checked out the server and dm the mod because the owner really works on the technical side of things. He said he recently got back into bionicle because irl stuff and wanted to chill out from the world. He joined over 20 bio servers and is still trying to find more to join. What he found was what you kind of said: People in bio servers that never even own sets or even knew what it was, people trying to change the lore into their own vision, alot of circlejerking, drama, people pushing their ideologies and making little to nothing into a huge problem, dead servers and just some bullshitery of people. The owner and him talked about making the server because he did not wanted to be in the past servers he joined and focused on Bionicle. He even mentioned how there are some LGBT and trans people were in the server and was shocked because they are cool people and werent like the people in rbioniclelego. He really wants to grow the server in order to have moc contests and community activities. I say give it a try because this dude does understand, cares and want people to have fun and be free.

I can definitely confirm that such a dream can occur with other brands. They just have to be prolific enough that a kid could remember the marketing and promotional material of that thing for years. I basically have a Bionicle Dream with toy cars instead of Bionicles. Like cars in colors I know they never had but it's nice to see them in those colors.

I was short on parts. There is a Bluebrixx store near me and they have what is to be described as a pick a brick wall on steroids. 2/3 of their store is loose parts. It's tempting and easy to just go there and pick up more parts. Usually I'm not bothered by offbrand as I used them throughout the build, but in this case I gotta agree with you. I covered the parts svortly after I posted.

Heyo! These guys look awesome, I'm glad you tried them out! Lore wise, they are one of the few rahi that can access mask powers, but it's more of an instinctual reaction. Different racers equip different masks to their snails to give them the extra edge. The models themselves are quite stable too, yeah?
Here's another Rahi I put together - it's a loyal little warthog who helps the village farm hand wrangle other rahi.

I'm wanting so badly to share my mocs and try to make this hobby a more creative outlet to help with taking my mind off of other stresses, but I cannot convince myself to take pics until my creations have masks. Shapeways costs too much long term, and while a 3d printer is a more sound investment, tax season is still a ways away, and idk if I'll even be able to spare the funds for one desu. Bricklinking standard kanohi is also out of the question because that's highway robbery. Should I just make placeholder masks out of clay and paint them? My sculpting skills aren't that bad and I have the supplies, but I don't know. What do you guys think?

also i dont know your financial situation but there are resin printers for around 200 bucks ro less now, but you have to be aware of the entire post processing and messy clean up that comes with it. also the uncured resin is toxic, so its best to have a separate room that you can keep the printer running in while youre in another room doing something else

Most of my builds are 01-03 style, 90% of kanohi don't match the colorschemes. Then even if they do, they either don't fit on a Mata head or they scale horribly. I have just enough money for parts, but hunting down recolors is not good for my wallet.

The way I understand it, the Mistika Makuta didn't mutate, they just had their shapeshfiting ability disabled. That was their mutation.

I don't think they changed much anyway, they sought to shapeshift into giant insects and that's what they did. The colors and overall feel stated the same.

I could tell G2 Bionicle was going to fail by going there occasionally after school to buy a toa or whatever at Lego Land (I went to Roosevelt HS)
They didn't do a damn thing special at LL to celebrate Bionicle at all, compared to all the props and whatnot I've seen put up from 2006-09. They were just off on the left side of the interior among the star wars CCBS stuff & Ninjago with little acknowledgement. It was pretty dreary

Because the designers probably thought of the environments they wanted first and then assigned the elements later. Splitting water and ice makes little sense in terms of elemental powers, but the difference between a beach and a snowy mountain is pretty clear.

They probably went with slizer colors then cut the ones that didn't fit the island environments. Blue and white are attractive colors to use so you end up with water and ice.
