>>9529587Honestly, gonna put my recommendation in the Kotobukiya kit.
Own the 3A full-size REX and RAY myself, but the large size(40" god damn wingspan on a RAY that I believe is oversized.) and somewhat unbalanced weights make them just real nice statue-like display pieces(though not even that with a RAY with two broken legs thinking could I keep it in its swimming mode pose...) these days. Got a brief amount of time with them, but still think the half-sizes are only nice with a much improved range of articulation, but just way overpriced(even with the usual aftermarket taxation) I feel.
Kotobukiya REX is smaller, but I think more faithful to the intended design; has the basic colours molded or pre-painted. I feel beats the 3As with a more natural articulation range, but a lot easier to fix if breakages occur. Only issues I feel are the smaller size, and needing to apply camo yourself if that matters to you. Actually gonna be looking to get the kit myself when it releases.
Other thing to consider is Sentinel's Riobot line, made a Sahelanthropus for the line and was real nice aside from being being a bit undersized and pricey. Still, we're a couple years away from a 25th Anniversary, so keeping my fingers crossed for a Riobot REX myself to be honest!
