Because this shit's dead as a doornail right now, and we know it. Like, there's tons we want, but it's utter doldrums right now on news and what news we have gotten lately has been fucking depressing. No thread because there was barely anything worth discussing.

God it sucks being a PR fan right now. Calling the LC a coin flip on release quality would be being generous, Super7 is doing fine but it's waiting hell or very expensive even not dealing with overseas shipping, and Hasbro is all over the fucking place with the current shows. There's NOTHING PR on the shelves at any of the Targets near me right now, and only a couple clearance Dino Fury items at the Walmarts - literally fuckall on the shelves, and apparently it's barely fucking selling when it is according to the employees I've talked to.

There's so much fucking potential in the entire PR brand and it's just fucking sitting there doing nothing. The fucking Transformers company bought this shit and we've gotten barely any transforming/combining zords, and certainly nothing else especially unique. He-Man gets a full rollout of figures and toys and mounts and playsets and fuckin Mega Bloks sets, and we're multiple years into Hasbro having PR and all we have is a more-expensive-less-trustworthy Black Series, several statues, a couple weapons or helmets that we largely already had, and one pretty cool poseable Zeo Megazord that dwarfs everything else they've put out.

Hell we had a crossover last season with MMPR, Dino Thunder, and Dino Charge, and not one fucking toy to capitalize on it. No Megazord figure triple pack, no ranger figure dual packs, nothing.

Just sell it to someone who will give a fuck, Hasbro, for fucks sake.

It is extremely strange to me how slow they’ve been to pump out Lightning’s Dino Fury, Dino Charge, and Dino Thunder figures.
There’s some stuff on shelves near me but Lightning is definitely the line I collect that currently has the most stuff on preorder with very little actually getting delivered. All of Zeo and In Space has been revealed for like 8 months now and I’m not going to complete either team until March.
The thing that bugs me the most is the consistency between team members, notably in the paint apps. Currently I’m bugging about A-Squad blue being a different shade of grey than the rest of the team, which would require some extraordinary effort to fix on my part.
Idk. I like the figures, but they’re slow to release, they’re never more than 90% accurate (baffling, considering some light Googling clears up most issues), and the lack of complete teams really takes out my drive to actually buy the things.

And the elephant in the room is how little effort is being put into Megazords considering the license is owned by the company who does Transformers. I don’t particularly care for the zords in general, but I assumed this was a slam dunk when it was announced considering the extreme level of care Hasbro puts into TF.

Finally picked up Beast Morphers Blue and had his leg break at the boot cut, so Hasbro customer service saw fit to send me a replacement... only they ended up sending me Zeo IV instead. I wasn't planning to pick up any Zeo figures, but Adam was always a favorite and I actually really love this figure. My only gripe is that his hands have to be stretched quite a bit to fit his hatchet into them and the lack of collapsed saber is irksome since it hinders posing if I holster it.

The later (is last couple) releases for Sentai scale pretty well, but the earlier stuff like Gokaiger are both too short and too lanky for a good fit. I had Akarenger heading my Red display for a while and he fit in perfectly. The Shinkocchou Seihou updates for Kamen Rider fit nicely, if a bit short in some instances, and the Kamen Rider Saber figures have all been bumped up in size and are practically I'm scale with LCs. I figure the new Gokai Red and Zenkaizer will be a good fit for Lightning Collection as well, at least I hope they will.

Build is a bit more forward facing than the other Riders because I didn't put him in a neutral pose for this, but he's a little shorter than Saber. They've seemingly upped the size each series over the past few five years or so.

Well I picked him up for £16.90 (that's including shipping, which was nice) so I'll probably give him the required touch ups. I've already started King Sphinx, but his wings are gonna be a serious time investment, then there's the skin touch ups to do. At least Pumpkin Rapper is just the eyes and mouth, maybe a bit of shading. I've seen some people black wash it, and the thing just looks like trash afterwords.

I did a really watered down brown wash to try to match Hasbro's on the rest of the head and it looks nice. I don't like how it looks when people use a straight black paint job on it though.

I don't have him yet, but I plan on sticking some red Oyumaru in there. It's non-permanent, and translucent so it should look good. It's useful stuff to have on hand for a variety of purposes and cheap.

Got a question that I'm wondering if anyone here can help with. I came across a bunch of Power Rangers morphers recently, but one of them is weird and I can't identify what the fuck it came from. It's the Time Force morpher, except NOT the standard one - this one has notably different body coloration, plus what appears to be a fold-out antennae, as if it's meant to be a remote control for something. However, it's definitely not the Q-Rex one (which looks like the Quantum Morpher) and I can't find anything else in the Time Force or Timeranger toylines that would have had a remote control shaped like this morpher to go with it. Lobo was gone when I went back today, replaced with about six Three Jokers Batgirls, but I found Etrigan for $15 at Wal-Mart. I decided to bring him home and try him out.

I'm less bothered by his elbows than I thought I'd be, but he's so top-heavy and his torso so wobbly that he can't even stand on his own. Sadly, I think I'm just going to return him.

After disassembling and taking a rotary sander to the elbow joints and a tiny bit of the chainmail detailing, a touch of paint and sealer, he can now do a full 90°. Now if I can just manage to tighten his upper torso ballpoint, I think he'll be good to go so long as he can stand up.

Would you like that with extra torso articulation?
If yes then figure wise you'll like the line.
QC wise only problem I ever had was beetbuster/BM Gold's thigh armor being warped under the hip peg that plugs into the thigh.
Besides that it's just paint details. Sadly on the morphers/helmets so depending on how much you like specific suits that might be a deal breaker.
Besides that, I say go for it. They wont scale with SHFs, FRS riders sure though.
The line's also fun, hunt down some mooks and grab whatever suits you like and have fun.
Or just, hope that the SHF Zenkaiger and the SHFSS Gokai Red do well and bandai tries to compete I dunno.

They do. I was tempted as well, but they're a little rich for my blood, so I decided to only pick up Green. Also, not sure if this is true for all the other rangers, but Green's helmet looks a lot less weird in person than it did in the marketing photos.

I'm just guessing, but the fact they only got part of the franchise & still have to license Toei's footage out might be legally complicating things. The TMNT crossover needed special deals worked out which may also need to be done for TF, possibly complicated by Tomy's ownership of the brand(which everyone conveniently forgets is a thing, despite "produced under license from Tomy" on everything) seeing as Bandai still has Sentai rights in Japan & are Tomy's competitor.

Otherwise they'd have likely started cross-branding long ago. Megazords using CW connectors should be a thing.

The fact that these aren't LC might give them a chance at actually being decent. The standard Beast Morphers and Dino Charge figure lines have been pretty solid all things considered. I feel like they're handled by different people than the retards fucking up every LC release.

If there's anyone knowledgeable about the topic here, I have a question.

When it comes to materials and manufacturing, has the Lightning Collection changed? Do they use different materials for different figures? As I'm sure you're aware, the more you play about with a figure, it will loosen over time. My Rangers loosen up, but it's not terrible, just noticeable you know? But my Blaze, who isn't wearing a "conventional" ranger suit hasn't got loose at all.

I'm just curious if anyone knows if it's just luck of the draw, material dependent, or might there be an element of some production runs being better than others.

Honestly I more commonly have figures with joints that are too tight. Shoulders, wrists, and ankles mostly. Boiling loosens them up fine, but after a few days, they’ll be about 30% as tight as they were before boiling, and it’s scary to move them without worry of breaking them.

A speculative possibility is that everything is the same but the molds that make the parts could be wearing down which could cause changes in products quality. Thus something that uses a lot of original molds wouldn't suffer the same. This is assuming they still do metal casting and haven't moved to another way to make the products

Has anyone seen MMPRToys Bruno's latest video on his personal channel? I feel really bad for the guy, once again he is ranting about why his channel is failing and trying to figure out how to make a living talking about PR toys.

I think he needs to accept that PR is not a popular brand anymore, and there just aren't that many people out there who want to watch videos on PR toys outside of this community.

Seems like a nice guy. Just give it up, get a real job and have some kids with your lovely wife.

I think he had an in with some people who worked at Bandai and he clearly doesn’t have the same connections with Hasbro. I like his videos but he just kinda makes whatever he wants? He’s not strictly a reviewer or a leaker, he just kinda swaps between stop motions, reviewing some toys (although it’s usually the Morphers and stuff) and just talking about PR in general. I don’t think he really fills a niche in any way, and like you said, I don’t think the brand is super popular. Hard to say why that is, aside from just stagnating overall and repeating the same formula over and over. I guess they have an audience for people who will always appreciate the brand, but they don’t really gain new fans. They’re also competing with the monster brands like Marvel, Star Wars, Fortnite, Transformers, etc. Most people only know PR because it was a phenomenon 30 years ago.

That's his problem, he does whatever he wants. YouTubers have to make stuff that people actually want, do videos with stupid face thumbnails, cover trending topics aka PewDiePie. Bruno doesn't care about YouTube trends, he just does the niche stuff he likes, and can't understand why it's not turning into a career for him.

It's cool to do stuff you personally like, but do it for fun, don't expect to have a professional YouTuber career if you don't bother to do stuff the masses want, which ain't PR. Bruno blows all his money on toys, complains about money problems and can't figure out that buying toys is a hobby not a career or why his channel will never be the huge success he wants it to be.

The other thing is, bruno just doens't have that anger or excitement. He's always just kinda has that same mildly optimistic excitement for things no matter what. Even when he was raging over those bikers outside his house or whatever it was more like "those guys sure are jerks!". Pretty much. He worked behind the scenes in the late Saban era and had Bandai America contacts for a long time so he was a decent news source for a while. By the time Hasbro took over all of that was gone.

The Hasbro purchase really fucked him. He worked in in the PR brand from the original Saban days, that's why he has so many photos and videos of him with the cast back then, on sets, with props etc. He was very close with Bandai too for that whole time, and he has immediate family connections with Shout Factory for the DVDs.
Then Hasbro happened and they didn't want anything to do with him for the show, toys or in general, and Shout's PR & Sentai DVDs were dropped too so he has nothing.

I feel bad for him because that all really sucks, but he does need to come to terms with all of that and the fact that he's no longer "special". There's tons of other people in the fandom on social media & YT that beat him to any news, reviews etc, are tighter with Hasbro, and do a better job than him.
The animations him and Mia do are great, but that's not enough any more to rely on. It really doesn't help either that because of all of the above, so many of his videos contain him moaning about it, which I understand, but it just makes it worse and turns people off from watching them. That's what happened to me - I got tired of hearing about it.
