It's not democrat, it's not republican, it's not trump or biden, it's the post office. The US post office was one of the greatest things about America and Trump ruined it, twice. One to try to make more money and a second time to slow vote-in mail.
It was a service, not a business. Yes it cost money to have someone walk around putting envelopes and packages at peoples houses and the cost of American tax payer, we deemed it worthy of our taxes. Even still it by and large was a profitable venture. We want it to exist whether it profits or not. Same with water or electricity, but unlike those we actually got the US mail done right. It fucking worked. It is not a requirement for it to profit. It had high intrinsic value. Reducing accessibility, reducing mail trucks, puppeting the post master general to essentially slow the mail. This doesn't even touch the outrageous "double the charge to amazon" ....yea..just double it...?
The mail working and working as swiftly as did it was a logistical dance we all benefited from. It makes the out of reach closer. It helps capitalism thrive. You don't fuck with it.
