Been passing the time designing accessories for my vidiyo furries. I’ve tried to make things based on what they came with, as sparse as their accessories were.

Werewolf drummer gets a mount and a bone scythe that shoots lightning, all based on his beatbit and bones,
Metalhead dragon gets a dragon cycle and a flamethrower. The cycle also has flamethrowers. You can never have enough flamethrowers.
Bunny dancer gets a boombox mallet
Shark singer gets a water cannon
Cheetah dj gets a mobile rig complete with lighting and lasers
Black shark gets an anchor cannon, using a stud shooter and chain to essentially make a popgun
Squid drummer gets an ink gun, kinda obvious but whatever,
And red panda gets a dubstep gun

I’m gonna be on the lookout for series two, as they’ve got a dog, gummy bear and an ice dragon. Unfortunately, they’re going to be hard to find. A pity the series was canceled, these minifigs deserved better sets.

Those little 3" ones are neat, I got one or two. Might double dip and get the Nendo as well.

Just curious, how many of y'all in the thread are actually furries?

I was your standard "fuck furries" internet person 10 years ago. Then I happened to make friends with some people who I later found out were furries, and they were really nice and cool people. That really changed my perspective and made me realize I was hating on them for no real reason, just because everyone else was and it was the thing to do. I don't have any desire to own a fursuit, but I do like drawing and collecting anthropomorphic animals. To be real, I think a lot of people who grew up on Disney cartoons (especially the TV shows) have a fondness for anthro animals, even if they won't admit it. Hell, a lot of people probably still think being a furry is entirely a sexual or kink thing.

I'm kinda a moderate one. Probably wouldn't go to a convention, and fursuits aren't my thing at all, but I do like a lot of the art (SFW and NSFW). Probably helps my GF is one.

I really don't like to get into semantics about stuff like that but my "minimum requirements to be considered a furry" would be having a significant interest in furry media (be it furry art on the internet or liking zootopia way more than the average person) and regularly engaging with the furry community in some way.
if you just happen to like that one furry anime (for reasons other than wanting to fuck animal people) or are an artist and made an anthro character once you probably aren't a furry

I mean it was fine but I wouldn't watch it again, too preachy and the characters are kind of flat in a way that isn't particularly fun but maybe it's just me, outside of Robin Hood and the Don Bluth stuff my furry media preferences aren't particularly popular.

Sup, furry artist here. kinda been in the game for about 14ish years give or take, gone to a few furry cons both for fun and profit, before that i was kinda like you, totally against furries, mostly because internalized homophobia. after therapy and shit i kinda just embraced it. personally i feel like the event horizon is having a fursona. once you kinda identify yourself as an animal of some sort that would be full blown furry to my book. anything before that would be furry adjacent

yea man, join the club. I consider myself a furry, have been for a long time since the 90's (dial-up internet really opens up your eyes). I just don't get the appeal of fursuits, looks like mascot costumes. I'd rather buy anthro figures than spend money on a fursuit. Furcons are over-rated, just a bunch of people in cringe costumes or freakin pup-hoods. I'd rather appreciate animation, toys or comics with anthro characters rather than try to look like one.

I'm interested in more egyptian gods as well so I looked up egyptian gods on wikipedia:
- Sehkmet, lioness goddess of war
- Nehkbet, vulture goddess
- Renetutet, cobra goddess
Pretty sure there is a cow and bird goddess in there as well, but the lioness and cobra goddess' are the interesting ones. Especially the cobra one as long as she loos like this

The head sits awful high on the neck, I think that's where the issue is. If you could get the head to sit lower it may improve the looks.

They have two other mascots, both of which are dragons. Doara (the koala mascot seen above) was added as a third mascot to celebrate the arrival of koalas to their hometown's zoo in the 80s.

I'm not a furry but 80% of my toys are anthros and monsters.

It's just... back in the 80-90s almost ALL cartoons were about antropomorphic animals.

TMN - Street Sharks - Biker Mice from Mars - (shit ton of duck-characters from Duckt Tales to Cunt Duckula and Mighty Ducks) - disney afternoon and etc.
Also videogames with platformers like Gex or Banjo Kazooie etc.

So i dont even question that. I like anthros because they simply cooler than boring humans. At least as toys or characters.

Furfag toys are just better than other toys

I understand that anthro stuff is very niche and doesn't make sense from a business perspective to mass produce. I'm hoping anime with true anthro characters like BNA and Beastars become more popular so we could get some nice scale figures. Kemonomimi doesn't count as furry.

I'm genuinely surprised we haven't gotten figma or even nendoroids of Beastars yet. Though I thought Ancient Magus Bride was pretty big and we only got a nendo of Elias (and expensive statues) and nothing else. I gues I don't really get how anime and it's popularity works anymore.

Seriously! Figma seems like it'd be the perfect place to make some figures, they're good at capturing the styles of animated figures, and they throw in plenty of nice expressive heads and hands. Which a line like Beastars would absolutely need.

But seeing as how Egyptians in their own religious canon were known to create gender-swapped versions of their own deities (and often have them marry their original counterparts, like Ra and Raet-Tawy, or Anubis and Anput), Montu's existence as the female 'Month' here isn't problematic and can be interpreted as another manifestation of the character.

I don't know, these Beastar figures by MegaHouse just don't do it for me. I like cute anthro stuff and I don't think Beastar's art style is 'cute'. Especially not the manga style.

You'll get Melon and you'll be happy with it.
Seriously though, Haru and Juno aren't that important. Juno is at least visually interesting so a figure of her would be welcome but she doesn't do much in the story and Haru is just there to drive Legosi. She's kind of bland and most people either hate her or are just fine with her.

When you put it like that, I guess it makes sense. They are side characters. I still think they should get at least one nice figure now that Legoshi and Louis have gotten two each. To be honest, I probably wouldn't buy a Haru figure. Her design, like you said, is bland. I would totally buy Juno, though. She's pretty cute.

The only real furry-adjacent toys I collect are werewolves and plush, I'm mostly into MOTU and figma. Surprisingly though I am not into a whole lot of media with animal characters, I tend to get bored of them and never find them as interesting as human ones.

The first 15 or so chapters are very poorly drawn, the assumption is that Paru had no assistants at the time so she was doing it all by herself early on. And yes, the first chapter in particular is ass, I can't believe they didn't even redraw it for the tankobon release. After that the art for the most part gets good, it does dip a little in quality on the last 50-ish chapters but at least it never gets as bad as those first few.

Nah, you're right - she needs feathers on her wrists, or tail feathers, or wings, or even a feathered texture printed over the body - SOMETHING that makes it a bit less obvious that her head, hands and feet are the only actual animal parts of her; the body itself is the exact same one used by Bastet, which in turn is just a generic Phicen body colored black. I mean, yeah, it's true to the source material that the Egyptian deities were literally humans with animal heads who could sometimes shapeshift into actual animals, but it would still be a bit more interesting to see some actual animal features on the body itself. Regardless, she's still a cutie 3.14.

This is a weird nitpick, but these covers have always bothered me because it's clear the artist knows nothing about toys past like, the mid-90s maybe, and they make all these bizarre joint and accessory choices. Doing even the bare minimum of a few hours of research on Google would have fixed this...it's ridiculous that they still haven't done that even after drawing so many of these covers. Remember kids, all good art starts with research. Who gives a shit that you spent 49 hours rendering something if the sketch was wrong from the get-go.

I think the artstyle of Beastars (The manga) is fitting for the tone of the story, if it looked super polished it'd totally clash with the themes in the story. you might like Brand New Animal instead as it's a similar type of story but it's a trigger anime.

I can almost guarantee that they won't stand well. They're both very top heavy, with huge bulky chests. Man-Bat has it particularly bad, with thin legs and big-ass winged forearms. They also have McFarlane's super-far-back-placed toe joints, which just tend to make feet feel unstable on big figs.

My Swamp Thing falls over at the drop of a hat, he's just so HEAVY and his feet are so weak. These guys look even worse in that respect.

Yeah, mine doesn't stand either. The figure is pretty badly engineered, but that's kind of the norm for McFarlane figures lately. I like the sculpt and bulk, but it needed a real stand. Also those wrist hinges are so fucking awful.

Man, something about your photos is mysteriously appealing to me. I dunno what it is. I fucking hated that Violator design bu I think it looks kinda awesome in your pics. Same with Cy-Gor, I watched the review and thought it looked terrible, but god he looks amazing in your shots. I have Nick and Judy, they're not really the most articulated things, but no Nendo is. They've got hinge swivel necks, uh, I think the arms are single swivel, and the legs have single hinge and swivel thighs.

I don't own this exact one, but it's on the movable body, so you can expect decent articulation. Swivel hinge neck, swivel hinge shoulders, hinge elbows, swivel wrists, ball hips, hinge knees. It's good enough for basic posing. Their feet are also small and they don't have ankle joints, so expect to use stand support for anything past basic "standing around" leg poses.

Judy appears to be on the Movable body so she has extra joints like the knees and elbows. Be aware that other Nendos may not necessarily have this level of articulation, some have pretty primitive engineering (like swivel shoulders, and entire swappable arms instead of giving elbow joints, etc).

Hot Toys will do that will some larger figures to try to cut down on costs and keep the seamless aesthetic. Just depends on the figure. I know their first Avengers Hulk had swappable arms instead of actual joints in the elbows...

To be real, with some figures there's no real reason to have articulation in some areas. Like, I appreciate it, sure, and I won't turn it down if it's offered, but some super bulky designs get like 15 degrees out of an elbow or ridiculous shit like that. And at that point, is it worth making the sculpt significantly uglier and driving up the cost just for that tiny amount of adjustment? Lots of times, nah. Just give me a fairly neutral pose with some cleverly hidden swivels, that's the move. Hell, even if you can't really hide the swivels (like on a smooth naked body), a single cut joint is like, a line. It's far less intrusive than something like a pinned elbow joint.

Basically, give me what Yamaguchi was doing with trading figures in the late 90s. Cleverly designed/angled swivels that can facilitate a large range of movement.

I don't see many fursonas with realistic heads, they're all usually cartoony and stylized with human features. They also generally have tails which this toy probably does not, I know lynxes have short tails so it wouldn't be visible on the promo pictures but it's a safe bet to assume there's no tail.

the dalmatian gal is pretty expensive at $480, which is to be expected for ball-jointed-dolls. Shark guy is cheaper than dalmatian gal at $180. The price difference is expected since Dalmatian gal has a lot more work put into her while shark guy is a little rough around the edges. He's unpainted and there are some leftover residue from the sanding of the figure, but the eyes are painted by the creator since they contacted me on what color I wanted the eyes to be.

I believe it's meant for 1/12 scale but he's taller at 7.5" so my furry bjds could technically wear 1/12 scale clothes as long as they have a lot of give, which means tight clothes like pants might be out of the question unless their stretchy enough
