Have to admit the Stan Solo figures appear really well done and seem to remain pure to the Kenner vintage style. Anyone have experience with collecting these figures? Thinking of purchasing the new Bantha.

Same. I can see them ignoring smaller creators who do mostly custom figures, but the majority of what Stan Solo sells is literal fakes of older Kenner stuff, and they seem to sell a shit load of it.

It is a pretty big professional operation though, over 23k sales on Etsy, and that's after his Ebay account got banned. The guy's been prosecuted before too, he was in jail for 2 years for selling fake football shirts.

The price is actually one of the reasons why Hasbro or Disney has not done anything to stop projects like the Bantha. The high price is not considered competitive to affect their profits, so they likely consider the Bantha like an arts and crafts hobby project than a competing business.

Hasbro is too chickenshit to do anything. Disney could but like that preschool mural thing that caught them bad press, they learned to not fuck with things that might generate a Streisand effect for them. Chinese KO companies won't have that backlash if they go after them, shutting down some small business that doesn't even make a competing product(be real here, outside of some reissues & Tarkin, Kenner 77 SW is not happening again as a major thing) especially US-based will generate pissed off fanboys not buying their stuff.

Outside of the Jawa, Hammerhead & maybe R2/R5, plus a C-3PO sculpt that's kind of held up, I barely care about Kenner SW stuff. Most of it looks crap, likenesses didn't bother(carbonite Han looks like John Goodman). 99% of those figures are outclassed by damn near anything POTF2 onwards.

The vehicles though were good, most so good their molds were used even 30 years later.
