Got Toxtricity and Pidgeot at my local Walmart. Shelf was actually decently stocked which was a pleasant surprise. Roughly 5 - 6 of each hanging there. I was actually able to be picky on paint this time. If anyone is desperate for these let me know. I can do base price + shipping if they still have stock.

Pikachu/Cubone/Mew are the 4" vinyls that are only sold in Europe.

Those translucent starters are probably the same size as the silver figures out now. What are those, like 4"? Actually....are these translucent ones using the same molds as those silver ones?

Quick question. A buddy of mine bought a Chinese KO Pokemon statue, pic related. It's supposed to be a numbered statue as in statue 123/200 kind of thing. Well his just says "TM" instead of a number and we are trying to figure out what that means. Any ideas?

The best guess we have so far is "Technical Malfunction" as the figures LEDs don't work.

So I am in a state where collectors/scalpers probably aren't AS rampant, but it's still pretty barren at any given time. Located in Missouri. I just went and checked and there is still stock on both (Pidgeot running low) for the time being, so my offer stands for now. It would be $10.97 roughly +tax and shipping. From what I have gathered, yes. However some were released in ridiculously limited quantities or in super obscure releases. Kanto/Johto made it in full outside of Japan, Hohen was sporadic and nothing further.

From my short research since I lost interest when I saw this was not financially viable, Voltorb and Electrode are the rarest, and can be $300-$500 each. Gastly and Haunter seem to be in the $200 range. Strangely Gengar is only about $20

Some anon was discussing these Sugi figures in the older thread. I like the idea of them as generic trainers, I think that would be a neat line to have. But the execution seems weird. Are you supposed to customise them yourself? I doubt most collectors have the skills to do that effectively. They're also listed as 13cm tall, which is the same height as figma Red, but their bulbous head style means they won't fit in with any other trainers I've got.

my greatest regret ever was...i think i was in Walmart or Kmart and they had this fuck huge set of the tomy figures. All 150 (maybe + Mew?) in this massive box set and it came with a special Togepi figure.

I don't know if there's even pictures of it but i remember wanting it so badly and my parents didn't get it.
I got a lot of the other ones but just from the random packs with the little gameboy ball launcher things.

Gengar was very common, and packaged with Meowth. while gastly/haunter I'm not even sure if they were available stateside. Despite being common Gengar was one of the most valuable. I sold all my Tomy figures last year and my Gengars went for like $35 including shipping last year and that was more than what I got for any others. I think I had a few others like Nidorina, Rhyhorn, and the Bellsprout line were also worth $25+. I didn't have any of the super rare ones of course that went for $50+. (lol)

So the Gastly battle figure wave is now being found at Meijer too according to IG. So there and Walgreens so far. Are they gonna keep shipping each wave to random retailers and god help you if you don't have that chain in your area? Shit. Basically each wave has been an exclusive to various retailers.

So far only Walgreens and Meijer for the Gastly wave.
Only Cracker Barrel had the Tox/Pidgeot wave until now and was one of the few to get the Toxel Clip n Go wave.
So far only Walmart with the Cinderace wave.
Gamestop was the only place for the Vulpix/Morpeko Clip n Go wave.

I'm sure there's more

Epic figures were minimally articulated though. If we get figures that big or larger that are super articulated like the 6" selects, that's a good price for it depending on how big they go. I wonder what 6" tall figure would warrant a new higher price like that though?

Epics were also limited in the articulation department. We had things like a pre-posed Dragonite (though the rest of them are mostly suitable to the limited articulation scheme), so if this line wants to charge more but it be a more fully articulated large scale Pokémon, I'm all for it. Maybe Rayquaza got shifted to this line and will be suitably large, for example. Would you rather a 5poa Regigas or 100% Zygarde or fully articulated ones for 10/13 bucks more?

Or who knows, maybe it's just the regular sized Pokemon but with extra accessories and/or attack effects.

I'd be down for a bigger Rayquaza but I think that one's probably too far in to production to just shift into a larger figure at this point. I'd like to see some larger ones that would benefit from more articulation, the snakes would be fine as epics like Gyarados.

That list of 8 figures came out last February. It's been a year since that news broke and we've gotten 3 out of those figures so far.....Why are they so damn slow releasing shit? Charizard first hit Targets in August and Articuno/Greninja in Sept/Oct so it's already been months since those came out. Rayquaza is apparently coming still and the report from UK Toy Fair said Lucario and Zapdos were seen so maybe those 3 are the 'wave' or staggered individual releases?

Those 3-pack listings aren't the 2" and 3" battle figure 3-packs though right? Those are like $12 at Target. The ones on Amazon are $16. Amazon proper hasn't carried the main battle figure waves or those 3-packs in well over a year now.

They are a weird in between. They aren’t full blown Chinese knockoffs, but they are “unofficial” Hasbro stuff for the western market, likely to capitalize on the demand of the legit Tomy figures. These ones were much smaller and had unusual proportions and details like the people who made them didn’t have a full grasp of every single one. They actually did come in smaller packs, then the 150 set came later.

As far as I know they aren’t worth all that much

Yep, they are official bootleg merch and most of them look like it too. The series initially started out as a mystery grab bag scam, then during the holiday season they offered the huge box with everything. It may have been a KB Toys exclusive

As you would expect from a grab bag scam, these weren’t actually random. Each set was broken down into groups of 4, which made it easy for Hasbro to determine which ones would be rare, and thus encourage kids to pester their parents for more bags to gamble on

They can't be both bootleg and official. If Hasbro released them, they were under the license they had at the time and TPCI would of approved and had the final say. Maybe TPCI was a lot more relaxed with the quality of the products their licensors made, but they weren't bootlegs.

Ohh they're these things. Didn't recognize them in the box image cause I was thinking they were Tomy minifig sized. They're actually really tiny next to one. Had a random Cyndaquil and Umbreon somehow, guess they did gen 2 aswell.

Does the gen 2 figs also have a tiny slit under their bases, or are they rounded so you can put them on a pencil? I remember having an Aipom and Porygon 2 the size of those that you could put on pencils.
Also weird, I had a Vaporeon from that series but with the correct colors on the tail fins. Did they do several editions?
