So let's say that after McFarlane gets through every canonical Batman design, they decide to borrow a page from NECA and make updated versions of goofy-ass Batman toys from the 80s/90s toylines in the style of Night Fighter Robocop and Gorilla Alien. What bright, disturbing Batmen would you like to see with modern articulation and sculpting? I feel like Slalom Racer Batman is a must-have.

If we're talking a redo of everything, I'd go with one that has the snap on vehicle accessories like pic related or the air assault from Batman Returns because those were the most fun ones for me as a kid.

In fairness, he didn't have at hand in the new movie nor Injustice, and he's making toys for those.

Part of the big surprise about McFarlane even making toys for DC is the fact that his telling them to fuck off is what started the process of Image Comics even coming into being, so clearly he's much more flexible now than he was in, say, 1995.

Plus, he likes money, and if he did a new version of the Heat Scan Batman that seemingly every kid had, he'd make more than he ever did off the Spawn movie, I guarantee it.

They bailed from Marvel but they also did a Big Dick Flex move by going to DC and announcing they were making their new company. When the DC guys asked them if they were proposing a partnership they just told them no, we just wanted to let you know.

Wasn't just that, they made a comic about why they left, where Stan lee was a cigar smoking mysterio who told them basically "you will own nothing at marvel and you will work for peanuts monkey" so they all left to make a company where creators owned their stuff. I forget the name of the comic abut it was an issue zero with a lot of goofy looking "hero" looks of the artists from image.

I don't remember the name of the figure, but it was a Kenner toy that looked like Azrael Bats before he was even a thing.

Nah, one I was thinking of was orange and black. Looking it up, everything refers to to as Azrael, but it might have just got repurposed as him. I was certain he was part of the Animated series line, but all in-package examples I'm finding are Legends of Batman.

Might be this one; wasn't specified as Azrael but was based off the comic design, a second release has more comic accurate colors.

God, just thinking about this toy made me remeber how awesome clotch capes are, even without wires or nice fabric.
These toys got it right, clip on, clip off loose fabric capes.

One of the best big brain ideas I read on this website was someone on this board talking about a friend of his who used a nail clipper to remove the ears from gimmick Batmans and rubbing off the symbols and using them as villains or other heroes.
