This can be seen in all the new city sets if you compare them to their direct predecessors.

Just compare the truck with trailer and helicopter to the previous truck with trailer and stunt jet (or the 2018 truck/trailer with helicopter).

I've only seen a few versions of Revan, a Darth Nihilus, and Jedi and Sith figs from The Old Republic sets.
I've seen a few sites do some great customs (which is where I got an HK-47), but those will run you like 25-30 bucks a fig.

Imagine being filtered by your own product, I always thought the natural evolution of the bionicle would be to keep the pieces mostly like they are but add more stud space and anchor points so you essentially have a frame of old style bionicle parts that you use bricks to create armour and details, that way they are still bionicles but also much more system compatible

You should contact a craftsman and ask him to build you a custom table. Then you can get something that's perfectly sized for what you want. Maybe with a short lip around the edge that's just large enough to stop baseplates from sliding off.
