>>9631128>>9631167the kits also don't come with any instructions so i can give you my best advice since i've already done this twice.

you want to string the lights in from the top of the detolf, but the hole is slightly too narrow for the lighting strips. take the caps off the light mounting hole, and get a piece of sandpaper, wrap it around a marker, and sand the hole a bit. straighten the cables by pinching it against the sides of your index finger with your thumb, and pull it tightly to remove bends. you'll also may want to sand your mounting brackets, they don't come deburred.
do each shelf one by one, taping the lights to the bracket, applying the cover, then taping the bracket to the underside of a shelf. line up the light strip on the mounting bracket centered, pinch and hold it in place, then take a portion of backing tape off. if you're happy with how well it's centered, pull the rest of the backing tape away, apply pressure to each diode. then put your diffusion covers on. sliding them in sideways isn't going to work, just line the cover up with each end, bend it slightly to fit into the lip, and run your fingers along the length until it's inside the lip the entire length of the bracket. remove the protective cover.
now cut a half inch piece of tape, place on each end of the bracket, remove the tape backing, and stick it centered on the underside of the top of the shelf. exact center is 1 1/4" from the edge of the door. for the depth of the mounting bracket, just match the depth of the supporting rods. the door won't touch it.
