>>9632795It's a trend that has happened before. I remember when cereal brands uses to have cool toys prizes in every box in the 80's and 90's. Now these days its super rare to find a cereal brand with a toy prize in it, most the time its just a puzzle, trivia, or maze on the back of the box with maybe a link to some digital game.
>>9636577Cracker Jacks went through this as well. I don't eat Cracker Jacks very often but I remember getting a little neat plastic prize in each box back in the 80's as a kid. Later it evolved into some paper prize or sticker, now its just a code to unlock some game on their website. (which you don't even need the code to access anyway).
Toy's and prizes with food items have been on a downward trend for a while, and pushed for hard by people advocating for company's toe be more environmentally friendly and ma advertising unhealthy food to kids.
Fast food has been on this trend for a while, but just now picking up steam.
Corporations don't really care and actually like the idea since it saves them money on not having invest in toys to include with the products. You see the parents of these modern kids grew up in the 80's, 90's, 2000's and grew up eating this garbage already and are hooked so to speak, thus they introduce these food items to their own kids because they grew up eating it as well, plus the busy modern area where both parents are working constantly just to make ends meet, its easier to eat out as a family then cook something at home. Sad but True, families rarely eat at the table these days as a family with a home cooked meal and eat out much more now then ever.
Fast Food Toys are the last to go but it's happening and has been being pushed for quite a while now. Wasn't in San Francisco that tried to ban toys in Kids meals several years ago? I remember reading about it online.
