Why are Lego toys the only toys that aren't hard to find? I mean, when they're available in retail, I mean. Once they're retired, hoo boy.

But while they're on retail, they're pretty easy to find, yet in this economy of every popular line being scalped, lego...really doesn't. Why is that?

Lego used to make less sets and have longer shelf and production life, now they make more and the life of a set in production and shelf is small. Take that as you will, bad or good. If you wanted to save economy back then for lego you could have bought it at a later date, now it ain't that easy.

However, this same logic doesn't work with legos. Even popular sets or sets with highly desired mini-figs don't get scalped. I mean, they will go up in price after they are out of stores, but that's not scalping (great example: General Greivous' Starfighter. When it was out in retail, people bitched about how shitty and overpriced it was. Now, they cheapest you can get it for is around $90)

I guess it's because Lego makes it's product widely available, the product is kinda expensive, and like you said, there is so many options to choose from.

What the hell is up with used Lego sellers? I've had a single good experience with a used set but every other time it's been horrible. Just today I finally got in a set I've been waiting for, only to find out that a minifigure is missing pieces as well as a myriad of other parts also being absent. Shit fucking sucks.

Probably because DC only puts out a batman reboot and a random soft reboot rated R every other year? Marvel puts out two-three PG movies a year and most of their sets find a way to include spider man or iron man. Which movies do you think the kids have seen? There's only so many times you can do a gritty real batman reboot. Look at the fucking Lego Batman movie in comparison. We got amazing sets, phenominal Minifigs, and more d-listers and A-list justice league figures out of that move than the ACTUAL FUCKING JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE. I can get a minifig of calculator or eraser or the fucking mime but not of the fantastic four.

Listen, I'm still pissed they haven't completed the legion of doom yet, but I get it. I'm also pissed that the fucking X-men can't get lego sets past wolverine and friends, but at this point it's a waiting game for the movies to care about fun so that the toys can too. And which studio currently cares about formulaic fun, and which one needs another shot at a pearl necklace being broken in an alleyway?

DC's gone full tilt into being different than marvel by being mature superhero movies for adults. Well, the toy company is going to make toys for kids based on the family friendly movies. This shouldn't surprise you.

I'm shocked that I didn't get Samurai to finish my superfriends especially since he was prominently in the kids movie for a hot minute, but hell man, I'm sure there's a fourth DC minifigure wave in our future.

It's good and bad and the main reason they bought bricklink because they've fucked up by retiring sets too early sometimes and leaving some up too long. The analytics data is extremely valuable to them. I imagine TLG is not that happy with 2nd markets scalping prices going sky high as well. It may not seem like much but lost revenue is lost revenue. That's why there was that interview last year of designers saying they were thinking of bringing back certain modulars. I guarantee that was TLG corporate getting on their ass about it.

That doesn't make sense. The designer is the one who made the decision not to give them faces. The designer made this mock-up assuming Lego would print whatever faces it wanted to print. Lego is the one who saw this and reached out to whatever record company is in charge of BTS and showed them shit low effort diorama where the bricks in the walls aren't even interlocked and decided to spend however many thousands of dollars to get this made.

A few years ago some other anons and myself started compiling all the pieces (at the time) that were UV reactive. Oftentimes it depends on the factory of origin; an opaque red piece from a CMF might be UV-reactive, while a similar opaque red piece produced the same year for a Creator set may not. I had a fairly extensive collage image of all the parts that we found were reactive, but I can't find it at the moment.

Transparent medium blue is one of the "big four" along with the ones you mentioned.

I've got a discussion topic for you /lg/ anons. While brickset is very annoying with their reddit-tier userbase and an advertisement for every dick HUW has sucked, I do like their database and classification system. That being said, does anyone know if they gather the "Theme" and "Subtheme" data from official sources or does is it just made up? I wanted to look at all the Imperials sets from the Pirates line and I ran into this issue shown in pic related. Its very annoying and makes me think their classification system is not comprehensive and unreliable. What do you say anon?

So many anons have become addicted to the dopamine rush of being the OP that they often rush to make a new thread. Couple this with the tendency to make a joke thread challenge based on whatever autism flared up in the previous thread, and the end result is that very few posters bother to keep the challenge from the previous thread.

That said, it would be great if you waited until this thread got close to 150 images and then made a new thread with a monthly challenge for March.

Only gripe would be the modern canopy and at the very front of the canopy, it could be a lttle more sloped / sleek rather than a flat plate, just a little more smoothness.

I feel like the minifig is just an example. From the shape of it, any minifig of someone that goes Force ghost would fit except Yoda. Personally, I think it’s for either Obi-Wan if OT or Luke/Leia if ST.
