I don’t own any of them yet, but the Studio Series BB Cybertronian figures really seem like the “TFP: First Edition” toys of their time. Just great representations of the on-screen characters and an obvious step above their shelf mates in engineering and articulation.

Finally had a Black Zarak from Hasbropulse show up. I like it, but the connection for the head to the body feels like it won't last very long since it's just these small tabs. I assumed they'd those pressure balls with a spring at the end, with the head attachment having small concave sections for the balls to keep it in place.

I had to get my 8 year old nephew a KO MP-44 Optimus because he loves G1 so much. His birthday was yesterday and He's using his Bday money to try and find a KO MP-Megatron. He just finds this stuff on his own thanks to the internet. He loves Heisei Godzilla and 80's Ninja Turtles and the 80's MOTU cartoon. Alot is available online for free on stuff like tubi he can log into without an account.

Hell when I was a kid I wanted to watch G1 so bad but couldn't afford the DVDs.

Well, maybe not SS86, but it was twice as big as galaxy prime.
Honestly, it looks like hasbro is upping the plastic content for leaders to justify the higher price point.
Just look at Laser prime vs earthrise.

Also, people may bitch, but UT was really unusual for the fact they had such large figures.

g1 and Beast Wars size classes scale pretty well with the modern stuff.
Generations just had some WIERDLY tall figures. Brainstorm, Springer, etc. That seemed to hold over a little into the leaders for the prime wars trilogy,
But that's a fairly short amount of time.

Instead it was an inversion, with an enemy accidentally losing their actual plans, which would in turn stop a war.

There's a rumor that they only allowed the use of the Volks mold for Bee, and that it was only used for the Walmart line because they helped cover some of the costs. Every other usage would use the Cliff mold. It also wouldn't surprise me if the Volks parts are gangmolded with the Cliffjumper mold going by how many heads the mold uses.

For those that own Black Zarak (not sure if this applies to Titan Scorponok). I recommend you check the left ankle on your figure, I checked a few of them (mine and two more from friends) and they all had issues with the pinned ankle, its looser than it should be and could make certain poses dangerous since it might apply too much pressure to that area. The ankle leans forward or backward due to it not being securely in place. You'll notice if yours has this problem if you take a small screw driver or other thing object to the pin, if it moves then it has the problem.

I recommend removing the pin, then using some future and maybe card stock as a stop gap measure, but ideally you get some thin pieces of flexible plastic, drill a small hole on two of them, then reinsert the pin after aligning all parts (there's small gaps inside the ankle so you shouldn't have any problem inserting extra plastic in there, then add some future in the gaps.

It's not even that it's saggy necessarily, its that the piece just begins all of a sudden in the middle of the chest at a 90 degree angle with no buildup. If there was even a slight angle leading up to that point it would look fine. The MP Arcee mold is weird, from some angles I think her and Nightbird look pretty okay and even good, then I look a little closer or see other pics and they just look fucking awful

And TFPrime indicated that trypticon's mind was in the nemesis.
I'm fine with the idea that the nemesis was made from the CPU of trypticon, and then when it crashed, the cpu, or "necron" was transferred into the Victory, which was later fully rebuilt into trypticon.

It wasn't that they stuck around and got discounted, it's that hasbro overestimated how much they should make, and so they get thrown to discount stores.
Metroplex did well, so they made more of dev, who also did well. Hasbro assumed that meant titans were a success, instead of the fact that metro was just a good value (Titans were cheaper then) and devy was the only g1 devy we got that was actually big.
Fort didn't do as well, but I guess they chaulked it up to him being a retool, so they cranked out the all new mold with Trypticon.

Who plenty of people bought, but seemed to have an endless supply coming. Titans return specifically was overproduced because CW went over so ridiculously well they thought they had brought in enough brand loyalists that it'd do great. But distribution got fucked and there were several other problems.
POTP had predaking, which seems to have been UNDERproduced. most people never even saw it.
Omega did okay, Scorponok did better, Ark seems to have done laughably bad, and Cybertron Metro is headed to worse.

You can see why they might want to retool one of those last 2 molds. Either Ark becomes a castle, or metro becomes a pony

I think one of the problems is the Ark wasn't exactly on anyone's list of must have. The five citybots were but beyond that people are gonna be more choosey. I don't know how many people are dying for Cybertron Metroplex. Tidal Wave might've been a better choice.

The Driller from DOTM might've been a good Titan too. A lot of people were disappointed that no toy was ever made from that.

Titans are probably in the area of barely breaking even as is, making repaints is a huge gamble since there's not telling if people will be interested in getting it or if they're willing to double dip on the mold. So while they could recoup costs by releasing repaints, there's a big chance they won't be able to sell enough to make up for releasing it. It's a miracle we got Black Zarak at all (though, it seemed like they planned to release him from the start going by his mold distribution, which is weird).

I honestly reckon CW would have worked better if they'd made the torsos WFC style Leaders, so Voyagers that come with a lot of extra parts. Not like any of the CW Leaders were worth bothering with anyway.

Got Kingdom Scorpinok, Rhinox and Galvatron recently.
Scorpinok is way too tiny, weird proportions and fiddly
But kinda neat. I like the Alt mode

Rhinox is weird leg wise kinda, I don't know how to describe it but I think I like him the most. Great alt mode and pretty expressive

Galvatron looks and feels pretty good in Robot, Tho his parts pop a lot and I kinda hate that . Like the torso parts and the shoulders feel weird.
Alt mode is so dumb looking and feeling and doesn't snap together properly it feels like.
I just don't like the alt mode to start with

Make sure you're tabbing the piece connecting the shoulder into the slot on Galvatrons chest when he's in canon mode. It's obvious they fit there but it takes a little bit of force for it to click in. He felt much more solid after that for me.

Yeah the shoulders themselves are a bit weak, although you can feel there's a sort of sweet spot where they're supposed to be positioned in canon mode, but even that still has several degrees of movement to it. I guess I don't mind, it's solid enough to stand on its own. Glad you at least like Rhinox, he's been something of a whipping boy since he came out.

gotta say it's a good beast mode, decent head.. the sort of unevenly swept back horns are not show accurate nor really attractive, but they are realistic because horns can do basically anything. they grow however they wanna grow.
as much as I like the T30 one, the gigantojaw means the beast mode can never look quite natural.

It's actually a clever work around to Sludge's design: his calves have the contours of dino-legs even in the show, but this toy uses his rear legs for better proportioned robot arms. So, the tail halves now sit flush against the legs to give back that contour the legs are supposed to have.

Yeah, other than his arms (which transform toy accurate, but got redesigned to put the claws at the wrist because it just looks cooler), Sludge is pretty much already the most toy accurate Dinobot. His tail halves vanish away on the model, but I think the solution they did is pretty clever. I'm excited for the stompy guy.

Yes, that’s true, that’s where the colors come from. AM Thundercracker and SG Thundercracker share the same color scheme. The Botcon figure he showed was technically released as SG TC since it has red Decepticon insignias, though it can also be used to represent AM TC, meaning the repurposing comes full circle.

The fact is, if you want a release of the Earthrise seeker mold as AM TC (as I do), the best bet is to hope for a new SG TC.
