I have one of these swords in my accessory bucket too, no idea where it came from, though I suspect it was from one of those cheapo off-brand transforming robot sets.

I tried to tell him that in the first thread he made but he wouldn't believe me because I couldn't find a pic. Like it's easy to find pics of old bootleg transformers from the early 2000's, that shit isn't cataloged at all on the internet because it's trash to most people. But I distinctly remember it coming with one of those cheap 8" transforming robot toys from either Big Lots or Family Dollar.

Here it is. I hope you didn't expect anything fancy, I made this when I was thirteen. It's a shame but I never managed to find something that could be used as spheres. The pommel and guard can be removed and replaced with Ryujin ones that I also made, even if the blade was innacurate.

It's been a decade since the last time I read the manga (and over twenty years since I watched the anime for the last time) so maybe I'm missing something, but reminds me when Yaiba had to place the spheres into the spaces of the stone tablet with the map of Japan to unlock the entrance to the cave where the Dragon God sphere was located.

I wish Bandai made a Proplica of the Thunder God sword with lights and sounds. It would be absolutely perfect if it actually recognized wich sphere is inserted and the sounds changed based on that.

I don't want to give up on this thread but it's highly unlikely we will ever see a photo of a real toy from that era that includes it.

If anything it is probably a bootleg of an equally obscure Japanese toy.

I tried doing an exhaustive search of sentai imagery using japanese terms on GIS and didn't find anything even remotely similar.
