That makes no sense for McDonalds to do though. If they can reuse a mold for toys for kids that were not alive when the first set came out they save money. There goal is to sell overpriced cheap food, not make cool toys for collectors.

I wonder.. this rerelease is definitely to help hype up they dlc coming out on mar.18th, but i think that its also a way to see how much people care about mario happy meal toys. What ever company makes the toys probably decides whether or not to keep molds. I am kind of surprised they do not reissue more often and get the most out of molds. They also may get continued use in other countries once a contract or something runs out.

The 40th Anniversary set actually contained two Changeables, the dinosaur happy meal and the burger robot. The dino was unchanged from the original, but the burger was retooled. The external burger shell is different, but the robot inside remains identical aside from a differently engineered hinge.

yeah but they didnt shove a bunch of old games down your throat. All the Switch does these days is steal something from PS4 or PC, then they release Tropical Freeze with just one new character and then 3D World but with one Odyssey world

The Switch's whole thing is "this game might be old or a port, but now you can play it anywhere." It's a fine business model, I'm happy to be able to finally complete all these games now that I can take them on the go.
