When I was around 8, my parents had a huge garage sale to get rid of all the junk in our house. And out went all my Beast Wars, Toybiz X-Men, Pokemon, Lego, Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Mighty Ducks, etc
So i'm not 100% sure but I think it has something to do with wanting to reclaim my childhood posessions along with the normal depression, insecurity/anxiety, etc

Something similar. Constantly having things sold out from under me as a child while at school, until I was like 12, and then I left to help out a family member for 6 months while I was in college, and came back to basically having nothing that I hadn't taken with me. We weren't even that poor, so I have no idea what their fucking deal was. Like I literally didn't even have a room, it had become a home office.
