>>9674470My main take away is that Todd's up his own ass, often acting like he's the smartest thing that's come down the pike-
-Hypes that his DC line was the best selling line for the past year, but that doesn't mean best selling with customers, merely with retailers, who by his own admission want Batman toys on shelves.
-Says they're still going to do side-eyes, because HE likes it, but says he wont do it as much.
-Repeatedly attacks other companies that produced Batman and Superhero figures to hype up his own narcissism.
-Says that he's personally responsible for the shitty selection of characters-- not DC, meaning he's personally responsible for all the Batman Metal shit, because he wants to make Spawn.
-He personally oversees and rejects figures and puts his input into each one.
-Even says how he's responsible for weird articulation on some figures and how it differs from figure to figure.
-Admits that he's not making these toys for collectors, but for kids, but just pretending they're for adults.
For everything Todd gets right about toy production he's the biggest hindrance to his own toys, which he repeatedly defends by saying how he's an artist and likes making toys that are like statues. Todd's good as a bean counter and understands how the market works, but all the bad criticisms are key points that Todd admits responsibility for in this interview.
Todd also repeatedly admits that many toy collectors are poorfags who'll seethe if you raise prices or try to reduce costs, even though he says he has to, and that he will be raising prices, but he's just been waiting until other big companies like Hasbro and Mattel do it first so poorfags wont scream about it. He also says he doesn't really care about collectors, because his toys are made to be sold to small children, which is why there will never be a lot of females or supporting characters, and that's why he makes so many Batman figures.
