>>9673984>>9673987Man... a few minor changes to this guy and he'd be great.
The sculpt looks good except that it looks too shallow. If they fixed that, that would improve it by a lot.
The head sculpts look really good, but am sad to see no articulated jaw. But I understand why they did that so whatever.
8" tall, 14" long?? Too big. I understand Brian Flynn said he wanted it to be that big, because even though you can't actually make a Godzilla figure that's true to scale with other toys, he at least wanted them bigger than a lot of other toys because it feels right to have these characters bigger. BUT, the people buying this, the target audience owns SHMA and NECA Godzilla figures, so I wish this would at least be in scale with some of those.
What's going on with the tail? Doesn't look bendy or segmented? I understand it's not the final product we're seeing though. Hopefully for $85 it will be segmented.
I'm glad to see accessories that are not beam effects. Beam effects never look good. Super7 gets that.
Also I really, really, really hope the final product won't use glossy plastic a lot of their figures do.
So yeah, if they gave the sculpt some more depth, used matte paint, and shrank it by an inch or 2 I think this would have been a great Godzilla figure. Hopefully it will be like NECA. In the beginning NECA's Godzillas were awful but they improved greatly by the end of their line. With that hope, I'm kind of relieve that this line is starting with kaiju I already have or don't care about. Hopefully by the time they make it to Showa Kaiju, the quality has improved greatly.
