>extremely loud gears>no boot even with manual motor spinningI assume you could fix loud gears with lubricant of some sort but I've never done it. And once in a while I'll encounter a Furby that seems fine but won't boot even with help. I usually just strip these for parts.
>how do I find fully working furbies?Mostly just look for tested ones. If untested though try to avoid ones with JT on the bottom right of their battery cover as these are more prone to issues
