Armada unicron IS a bit different.
He's supposed to be smaller, since he's only a moon, and his ring is supposed to be minicon compatible. Not to mention his whole transformation scheme is different.
We won't get him in legacy though. Maybe whatever comes after.

2022 titan will probably be a tidal wave + armada megatron combo, or monstructor

To be fair, the problem wasn't the colours the fans chose, it was how they were applied. The colours on the vote were quite different to the final colours on the toy (the red went to this horrible orangey colour) and they didn't add enough silver to it.
Personally though I'm happy with Megatronia.

The colors were out of a total of three pre-selected color schemes. It is on Hasbro they went full retard in distribution so everyone both blends together and looks awful.

It's the same reason Dark of the Moon did so poorly after Revenge of the Fallen, or why everything Star Wars related collapsed in popularity after Last Jedi. Fort Max was riding off of Metroplex, and Trypticon was riding off of Fort Max

so bank of japan purposefully tanked their currency value today, it's at it's lowest value compared to the dollar in 7 years (imagine had we not fucked up by causing mass inflation, it'd be at the best rate possibly in 30 years)

Finally, now I have the full set and I got them all for way under MSRP (locally they were going for $27 and $60, I ended up getting Cheetor for $7, Megatron and Primal for $14 each).

Here's hoping I can get Cybershark cheap, I plan to buy several if they go that low.

How fucking heavy was it?
like, DA-80 weighs 5 or 6 times what Maverick does, so there's definitely factors at play there.

Also, because puerto rico is on the other side from japan, there might not be much that can be done about it. In the continental us, the packages land in alaska/california and then get trucked out, so it's cheaper. I imagine puerto rico basically means it's flown all the way to the island.

Got my hands on the dxs cept Arcee. Kickback is probably the best of the dxs even if he's as geewun as possible minus the chest door. Not sure why they removed that feature as there is a pin holding the chest in.
The main weapon is eh, but he does come with a small tommy gun.

I don't get wtf is up with Dragstrip, he looks like a triangle of cheese with a he lack of paint deco. The little button that makes him split into two has a spring inside. Sorta curious if Motormaster will have something to open up the stunticons.

Best I can manage to pose Volcanicus as is a straight up stance with fisticuffs up. I can get Slash to sit on his shoulders too, but that's best I can do. He doesn't have great weight distribution.

I would genuinely love to see human characters in R.E.D, there's a entire gambit of characters it could do outside of even just the obvious ActionMasters, like pic related or even Nightbird.

He was just trying to remove all of the organic parts from his body to leave himself with an entirely robotic form, but the dragon bits kept growing back no matter what he did. He settled for hiding his beast bits under a cowl and wearing a separate set of robotic arms so he wouldn't expose his real ones with the dragon head attached.

Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Brawl

Right away so much less interesting than Blast Off. Lucky he's a bright green so he can be at least a little eye-catching.

Brawl's an odd shape for a tank. He's designed to look like the in-game model when using a boost, so the treads are flipped to the side and he's hovering.
So Brawl has precious little in the way of flat surface underneath to sit on.

Nice big gap up front let's you see directly past his exposed hands to the back of Brawl's head.
It's just such a boring lump of plastic. Having two barrels instead of one is really all he has going on.

Brawl turns from a boring tank into a boring robot in an uninteresting way.
Not exactly the bruiser he was in game either.

Ball jointed neck, shoulders elbows, and hips. Hips go outward about 40 degrees, shoulders about 2.
You can cheat the arms outward with the transformation joint but it looks thoroughly unconvincing.
Thighs swivel and knees bend too. Not that any of this matters given how back heavy Brawl is.
Of the FoCombaticons I think Brawl sacrifices the second most.

Uhhh... his yellow visor is nice.

Plastic feels so good and moving his limbs has that nice "soft but tight" feeling lol. Which means posing is playing is so fun. Unlike Kingdom's Primal for example (plastic and joints are so stiff and rock-hard).

No, legacy arcee is extremely designed for prime arcee. The only real alteration is the removable front tire

I've been busy with work, but here's a pic with him and Black Convoy/Scourge. I seriously don't get why they can't just do "like original, but now with wrists.and thigh swivels". But no some mudflapb at hasbro keeps thinking the original was too simple and keeps trying to make some new transformation scheme that's not as fun. The ab piece on mine likes to come off while transforming because it's not on a pin.

Fingers crossed "Scourge"/Black Convoy will at least look better and someone makes a kit for the gun and a bigger sword. I'm dying for a replacement sword for my original laser prime.

Everything after RID Scourge (not the carrobots version) had remolded missiles with notches (not sure why) and they replaced the disks with the upside down g2 symbol that looks like sad Darth Vader to blank ones. Also blunted swords. This includes reissue g2 and g2 Magnus.

well, here's the step before
The wheels are on the lower legs, and the legs run along the bottom all the way to the front.
There's a canopy that folds up and ultimately sits on the back.
The back wheels are on the fenders, which flip up and sit next to the back.
The arms fold up exactly like the fembot mold.

The major difference is the waist doesn't have to turn around since the chest isn't facing upward, and the head is actually connected to the canopy

the issue is the car mode.
It would look laughably small, not just small. The cab portion would be comparable to core class soundwave in size.
The 5mm ports would only be able to be on the trailer because there'd be no real estate on the cab itself.

I don't know why people piss on this. If they made it the way "you want" you wouldn't buy it, I guarantee, because it'd be a bad toy.

Yeah, he's a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive, and they only ship inside of Japan. Unless you have a Japanese address or a middleman, you have to get from an overpriced importer site.

He does look good, I just pre-ordered him myself. I'm not nuts about how the doors are a solid piece of painted transparent plastic, but the transformation looks simple enough that I won't have to worry about scratching it.

TM Megatron was never a GPS issue, it was his torso design and plastic. The japanese version either uses a different plastic or they fixed the stress issues so it seems it breaks less easily. My regular TM Megs never broke though ,and I only sold him recently.

In case you forgot, the last motormaster toy that can combine was CW and it was absolutely shit due to how the gimmick was executed. Having a more G1 accurate motormaster and menasor whose combination is unique to him only is a much better outcome in the long run. No need to gimp a toy to take into account limb swapping with other combiners.

Got my JP Crossover Pack along with the Firestormers and GS Spinout/Cordon packs couple days ago. Pretty baller figures, though I'm being careful with Slamdance since apparently the thick paint on the ankles can cause breakages if you're not careful.

The shared mold for Tyrannacon is a little weird with all the rubbery plastic covering the body. Gonna have to get used to that, keep it somewhere safe too.

Eyes were fine from what I could tell.

As for Slamdance, apparently the red paint was applied way too thickly on the ankles, which made them stiff enough to the point they could actually break. Probably vaguely remembering some QC issue about him, but it never hurts to be on the side of caution.

The show continued to air in reruns years after it ended, and the VHS releases were at video rental places up through the early/mid 90s, so yeah, more people would have had experience with the show than the toys that were off shelves before they were old enough or even born.

Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Swindle

A good vehicle mode today, to wash off the stank of yesterday's.
I'm fond of this yellow wedge. And I'm sure we all remember the high speed level where you play as him, was fun.

Swindle's shape is a pretty perfect blend of swooshy speed and chunky toughness.
Riding atop some hefty looking Bionicle-ass tires.

Not much to comment on the paint job. It does a good job of breaking up the solid yellow but it otherwise uninteresting.
I am count 8 individual exhausts. And maybe only 6 engine cylinders. So that's some funny alien design.

Very simple and honest transformation for this simple and honest salesman.

Kind of an awkward looking bot mode. Legs altogether too big and his arms are too far out from his body. But you gotta give those little panels credit for trying to cover that gap.
No new colours or nothing. Just a very sour expression, not even a Swindle smirk.

Posability is a step up from Brawl at least. Since Swindle has enormous heels and nothing, literally nothing, on his back he makes for a very stable toy.
Ball jointed shoulders are actually cut to allow outward arm movement, it's been a few days since we saw that.
Ball joints for the head and hips are all very stiff. Thigh swivels are kind of loose. Waist swivel is tight and knees bend but it's almost meaningless given how short Swindle's thighs are.

If you get Legacy Blaster and find opening him back up for transformation to robot mode to be less possible than transforming Kingdom Rhinox blindfolded having never handled him before, there are a couple of tabs on the panels where the volume knobs are, so try to lift those panels a bit and it helps unlock the figure.

Searching "tooner" in archives shows the earliest uses were from postly mostly complaining about MPs having more cartoon accurate designs then some other G1 related stuff. There are also some using it synonymously with geewunner and was at one point used in replies to the TRUE G1 anti UC guy which is probably where you saw it first.
It's interesting, there were a few in 2018 then loads starting in 2020 like the guy had it in his head and thought it was super clever but only really started pushing it when it seems certain world events landed him with some extra free time.

Honestly, repacks are a genuinely good idea to help pad out lines while also allowing collectors the chance to get figures they might have missed out on for non-rape prices. It's also why I like the line tail-enders getting reissued in Wave 1 of the next line, it helps alleviate the dreaded "end of the line" syndrome figures like TR Misfire et. al had.

But repacking a repack is just stupid. If you haven't gotten a Wheeljack by now, you didn't want one in the first place. Hasbro should look at current market value for figures and go by that for repacks. We need a repack of Spinister or Cog before Wheeljack or Cheetor.

So retailers will buy them. In the past they would skip the tail end of the series as new ones were being released. Sometime they end up in discount store instead like Astrotrian did a few years back. Put the last wave in the new packaging and retailers will look and see it's part of the new series and order them.

Hoping to see some Blasters in kingdom packaging this holiday since I've never seen them hit any of the 10 stores I've checked regularly.

Eh, I am Japanese, and I think Windblade is much more "offensive" looking than Drift ever was. It's a lazy mishmash of Orientalism, a sort of blend of geisha/kabuki looks, and I cannot think of a single reason why anyone would look like this on Cybertron. It's pretty clear someone just wanted to draw this because they had an Asian fetish, and fuck the rhyme or reason. Yeah, Drift is a tryhard weeb, but at least I don't feel an immediate gut reaction of disgust looking at him.

I like the design of BB Ratchet/Ironhide more than their siege and ESPECIALLY the ER counterparts, it's just the gaps that really put me off from the actual figure. That and Ironhide's unsightly mismatched colors in his thighs that make it look like he's wearing a speedo. If there were some gap filler kits or very slight OSKOs that fixed those issues(and maybe give them more unique weapons too) I'd be all over them, maybe even make them my definitive versions of the characters like I have with BB Wheeljack. Maybe I'm just desperate for something better than the Siege mold

That was done in legends, but I suppose that was awhile ago by now. Even the unreleased redeco of the hero figure was done recently, as yet another ER repaint.

It would be extremely painful. You just need a pair of pliers and something to wrap around the leg so that the pliers don't damage it. Squeeze hard enough to put it into place but not enough to damage the plastic. I got mine from loose wobbly shit to nice and flush like you see in that picture.

but I don't have many transformers images.. and when I try to quickly look up and use an image? well, posting the URL into the file upload thing never works, saving it works only slightly more often, half the time you end up with a webp or something, so you have to paste a screenshot into an image program... so I don't do images much

Pros:
