Toy cars rolling down on tracks is considered playing with them anon. It's far better time spent doing than having them hanging on the wall still inside the box to be sold later, If I want to do the latter I can just go to a store and stare. I just wish I have more room to make a proper track layout.

I'd go for track builder sets and anything from the Action line. Can't go wrong with those at any age. City like >>9700988 says can work too but it is more kid oriented. Garages though are pretty neat for storing cars in a diorama sense and with replayability.

I was trying to catch up on Mario Karts and I must've been to 20 stores in town searching and concluded there were a handful I missed the boat on, paid $13ish each for them on ebay, not even 48hrs later, happen to go to a Meijer off the beaten path and find 4 of the ones I overpaid for at $6 each and it's too late to cancel, ha. Apparently Matchbox designed the ambulance and hearse versions at the same time, and released the latter first, fully expecting that people would complain about a toy hearse existing, and then simply replace it with the ambulance. I like the ambulance more anyway, but the hearse is cool. Inside, there's a monstrous hand sliding off the lid of the casket.

The 75 Eldorado was cooler than I expected, I just wish the interior had better contrast with the paint. Like, literally any other color. And a 2015 Escalade which is okay enough, I guess. The head/tailight tampos are nice, and there's actually an incredibly tiny colored Cadillac crest on the back

Have you made any custom decos? I think the hardest part would be doing decals where it covers the entire back 1/4 of the casting. You'd basically have to model the car and then unwrap it.

I actually just did this in reverse; I bought a bunch of older castings just because I thought they looked cool and later found out they all have a similar story behind them. This lot represents almost all of the Hot Wheels adapted from 1:24 Monogram model kits by Tom Daniels.

And then just today, I got in Mob Rod, which I've been eyeing for a while. Coincidentally, this was ALSO designed by Tom Daniels in 2010 as a novelty; the first time he's specifically designed a car as a Hot Wheels casting. Apparently I just have a soft spot for this guy's style.

I love how brutal and chunky this thing is while still having such a narrow body. It's a very dynamic casting that's a million times better in hand.

Not at all. I ultimately chucked all of mine in the recycling bin, but I thought about saving some of them, especially those with unique card art for that specific casting. There is something really pleasing about the thicker card stock, and the neat little window in the back.

Honestly, for the cost of them, it would be cool if Hot Wheels included some kind of collector card with premium releases. I guess they figure the kind of people who would be into collector cards are probably keeping things MOSC in the first place, so there's no reason.

Won a cheap classics '47 Fleetline on ebay then got a refund from the seller before it even arrived. Turned out he sent me a '32 Ford by accident, but you know what, this is my kind of accident. Not a fan of the shoehorned Ford badge on the rear quarters, but the flames are nice, and I love the classy pinstriping on this shapely little rump.

the 3 in the back are from the redlines series, but the other 4 are from the cool classics line. Every car in the line had satin spectrafrost paint. I actually prefer it over sectraflame it really makes all the details pop. Would recommend picking up some from the line if you can find them for a decent price.

Could try putting them in the dishwasher I guess, but I'm not sure if the heat, pressure, and soap might damage paint and/or tampographs. I'd just toss them all in a bucket with some warm soapy water and go at them with a toothbrush. And make sure you dry them as thoroughly as possible, shaking out as much water as you can.

Personally I find the quickness of a car has more to do with its axles/wheels than its weight. When I was a kid, most of my collection was all-metal stuff from the '80s and '90s, and they all got their doors blown off by a lightweight matchbox nissan with a plastic chassis and lightning wheels.

Tomica's common series would probably be the closest. I think their detail is a little bit better then matchbox, but they only have 2 wheel types that are used on every car in the line. Also youd probably have to pay five times as much as you would for a matchbox car if you live in the US. I cant talk for buying tracks, however I can talk to 3d printing, tracks like this would probably be better made with epoxy pouring or getting a malleable plastic sheet and adding side pieces to it, just in a pure time to make/quantity perspective

If you have all the time in the world to print out 250 mm sections, the best you could do is a resin printer that does the whole tray at once, print track vertically, and have them make a bulk at once, once cleaned and cured, paint an epoxy that will fill in any bumps/layer marks and let that set or cure (if uv curing resin doesn't cost more) and you could get a large amount done at once. any curve piece however you will need to custom model, which is a fair bit harder then straight pieces but relatively easy once you know how.

I own a couple of neat things in the scale, but mostly I find it an awkward middle ground between 1/64 and 1/18; Not as much detail as the latter, nor as much fun to vroom as the former. I generally only buy 1/43 stuff if what I want is completely unavailable otherwise.

The mismatched wheels make sense for the gimmick they are trying to go for, drag Civics always have the big meaty wheel and tire on the front and a skinny do nothing tire on the rear. It doesn’t look great, but it serves a purpose.

Aside form odd wheels choice it's a pretty sweet casting. Oh and the headlights connected to the front bumper is kinda one big YIKES in the long run. I mean they looks good in black BUUUUUUT the main problem is every other plastic colour looks kinda off.

My whole thing with RLC is that they're so shiny, it seems patently ridiculous to keep them in packaging and not observe them under direct light. And sense I never buy toys with the sole intention of reselling, I don't really see the need to keep anything MOSC.
