Lets assume hasbro has the rights to mask rider, and that doesn't end in a legal battle with bandai.

Why would they make this?

To most hasbro people this guy was in the show for like an episode or two and dipped. Its also an entirely new mold which they hate doing. It has like zero reuse (atleast you can do phantom ranger comic shading).

People need to think how people like loretta think. She goes on the wiki and put red circles on pics of figure, for what needs to be resculpted (belts boots, weapons, etc.) and sends them off to some freelancer in portland.

Hasbro wagies will only pick the most basic bitch normie shit, and the only deep cuts will be from mmpr. (Likely from dms and comments on twitter and instagram.)

I’m starting to think Super 7 is just a hype company with no actual figures. I mean aside from TMNT and thunder cats we haven’t gotten any ultimates. And yet there are about 20 waves of figures for preorder.

I feel there 3 unreleased waves a time rule should be 2 until they actually release a wave. I’m not convinced on the required articulation for the power rangers. Super 7 seems to have good sculpts and accessories but janky articulation and glossy plastic.

I want this series to be good since LC is only passable for the main cast and lazy with the monsters.

S7 barely had ultimates off the ground before covid, they had really only done MOTUC stuff before and that was all notoriously delayed. If anything they have improved in the speed they get things out, their TMNT line seems to be relatively on schedule, smaller sublines seem to do alright, thundercats is a massive fuckup that hopefully won't happen to other lines.

It's not my personal feelings that Bulk and Skull are very popular characters who originated from the only season most people care about and had a longer tenure than any of the Rangers. To think the first time they get proper action figures wouldn't sell better than any number of Rangers from less popular seasons is being completely oblivious. And Marvel Legends does get civilian figures. Gwen Stacy, J Jonah Jameson, and Moira MacTaggert are just a few off the top of my head from the last couple of years.

If mmpr was so popular the figures would be evergreen and always available. Similar to how you can always get an iron man in marvel legends after endgame, you can always get spiderman, and can always get wolverine. The only mmpr figure currently available is pink, and its supposed to be an exclusive. MMPR can't even support its protagonists (who the bodies already exist for), and they can't even support rita repulsa (had to be sold in a two pack; see todds debate with shartimus).

If the franchise can't even support rita, you aren't getting civilian characters.

Andros was featured in a fight scene in the pilot for the most popular season and it peg warmed.

Anyone who wants bulk and skull is unintentionally trying to kill the line. The monsters failed, lost galaxy red and blue failed, two packs failed, and theres no way 2 auxiliary backround characters wouldn't fail. Everytime the lightning collection makes these mistakes, they see less releases and retail space. The only place i can find PR now is gamestop. If people don't want king sphinx or goldar, they don't want characters less memorable then them.

Also action characters always sell better. Look at all hasbros lines and you see every wave has characters that participated in some battle. You don't see random civilians except for peter parker (who pegwarmed even through a massive movie tie-in)

I really should not have to tell this to you, but LC gets 1 case per store at best, and only if the other product sold out. The line only has 1 peg. There might be 20 people who want bulk and skull, and 25,000 kids who just want a red and blue ranger, and will pick up another random ranger in a few weeks. You are a small minority of people who don't buy the minority of toys. Maybe 5% of LC go to adults, and the rest go to foster kids, ross, and children.

PR is just not that popular beyond what little keeps it alive. It's not the sales giant it was when MMPR came out. MMPR gets the nostalgia segment of the fanbase but it didn't age well. Most of the writing was terrible.

Hasbro has wasted things on 6" figures. The headsculpts of actors are not very good. They fart around on getting out key characters in any capacity. Their zords are shit. The $40 MMPR Megazord was a box of QC issues. They sit on a Transformers crossover & won't do it. I wonder how tied their hands are in dealing with Toei while Bandai still maintains the Sentai part of it in Japan. A good quality Megazord that uses Combiner Wars connectors? Not happening. A titan class Megazord to go up against Devastator? Not happening.

Remember they fired 50 people the week before announcing this massive, expensive brand purchase. They've wasted it since.

You can put out all the nonsense you want about how LC is doing amazingly (look at reviews on youtube and compare to actual toy review channels or even just ML), or how 20 people can support a line (they can't, theres like 5000 targets, which means if shipped 2 per case, 8500 or so will go unsold, and thats not counting walmart, amazon, bbts etc.), or how bulk and skull are super popular (PR isn't even popular, much less them) but its all not true and contradicted by facts.

Lets say 500 bulk and skulls go unsold. Only 500. Thats 40,000$ lost, which would pretty much kill the entire profit of a wave. Thats not counting the fact that these toys already aren't that profitable. So basically you want to fire someone at hasbro, and make distribution worse for one mediocre figure that most people don't want. It is absolutely insane to make bulk and skull unless they're just body repaints of the 2 normal ranger bodies with a new head as a pulse exclusive. Thats the only reasonable compromise.

I'm sick of seeing people with no experience in buisness or engineering or supply chains talk about things they know nothing about.

What are we expecting to be revealed? Personally the Power Lance seems obvious, plus Wave 12 (Galaxy Green, Dino Thunder Yellow, Wild Force Blue, and some version of MMPR Black).

here it is all sliced up. It doesn't have any weird overhangs and strange shapes to it, so it's a fairly straight forward print. I'll need to get more filament like I said, so the actual print will have to wait for now. Fun fact my slicer is projecting a 38 hour build time for this guy on the high detail settings. I even bumped up the print speed a bit.

Yeah at those prices I'd just get the Super7 since it'll be professionally done. But, I think I'm going to give this project a whirl after getting some more PLA and see how it comes out. Also I am on the fence with Super 7. These are nearly 3x as much as Hasbro but if they are actually good I would replace my Lightning collection MMPR. But in my experience Super 7s articulation is not that great, and weirdly enough they come with about the same amount of accessories as Hasblow. Getting the monsters for sure since the paint apps look good.

In that interview the Super7 guy addressed the scale, saying the goal is to have it so you can pose zords fighting monsters at the same height like on the show, and if rangers are fighting them they just look a head taller like a boss fight.

I almost always prefer screen accuracy but so long as it stays consistent throughout the line I think I like that, on a shelf the monsters would get crowded out fighting 5-6 rangers at once. Zords don't have the same problem because those are 1v1 or 1v2 fights. It was only a problem in the Lightning Collection because they weren't consistent

This right here. Hasbro's retro zords are the perfect size in relation to the LC Rangers. There's no reason a non-transforming Megazord figure needs to dwarf the Rangers. If you want a big Megazord to display behind your Rangers there are other options for that. For the purpose of an action figure line just scale the damn Zords to the real life suits (especially since that's what they're being based on) and then the villains can be appropriately scaled to both the Rangers and Zords. It's not fucking difficult.

Zords/rangers/monsters all being the same height is my preference but from a general aesthetic perspective I don't think most people want their zords to be the same height as rangers from the same line on their shelf

I don’t mind them using the same mold if it was a good mold. Stuff like “the arms stick out on the sides” and the lack of range for splits really sucks. Certain suits could use different molds just to change it up, but most of these are just flat spandex suits anyway, and stuff like actor-accurate height fluctuates depending on the stunt person anyway.

If people had any sense, they'd realize that this is a horrible suit and not meant to be the be-all end-all interpretation of the Megazord. In Zyuranger it makes some sense considering Daizyujin is supposed to be a god, so I can forgive the wonky proportions and misrepresented zord parts.

Even picrel shows Boom portraying the Dino MegaZord as more mecha than the TV show, but people here act like the show portrayal is the be-all end-all.

NTA but I think the issue is less "it looks like the thing" and more "it looks terrible due to emulating the flaws of the suit overly faithfully". I like the idea of a Megazord (is there a Japanese "umbrella" term for what become Megazords in PR? Not massively clued up on this stuff) toy that looks like the dude in a suit, but within reason and not if it means it ends up a worse toy for it. It's a bit like with the recent Ultraman figures- the novelty of "it looks like the OG suit down to the shit bits" is kind of nifty but it still looks terrible objectively.
Still, I will say I'd rather have an overly accurate rendition of a Toku robot suit than an overly accurate rendition of a Sunbow Transformer. Tooners are unhinged.

If you actually owned the original megazord as a kid you wouldn't have this crazy obsession with it. Its just a toy, and it really never was better than any of the sentai mecha before or after. If you want a good megazord pick up some recent japanese ones (pre zenkaiger.)

I will be happy with my super robot gaogaigar styled megazord and you will be stuck seething over who made the closest representation to something we already have accurate representations of.

Accurate representations aren't to get perfectly accurate things, just things that can reasonably substitute into the role and that makes them definitive. See mp-44 vs. TE01 and MS and MP 10 for more info. Mp-44 is perfect, but its clearly worse, and all 3 figure above are better optimus primes despite being less accurate

MCU suits are way higher quality than the Daizyujin suit. Not to mention, much easier to make compared to having to work with toy models, and then using that on a suit.

So, the guy in the Super7 video said that now with the main team complete, the Ultimates line can start getting into the real obscure characters. Who do we think that'll include? The White Ranger, obviously, but who else? Ninjor? Alpha? Will they try to finish the main villains and give us Rito, Scorpina, Squatt, Baboo, and Master Vile? The Tengas? Will they start giving us the Thunder, Ninja, and Shogun Zords? More monsters of the week? Perhaps start getting into the comics and do Drakkon, Ranger Slayer, Black Dragon, Purple & Orange Rangers, etc.?

I think Super 7 only has MMPR right now. So my guess is we will get some Monsters that haven't been made by hasbro yet. I know a lot of people would be happy with a Bulk and Skull. Squatt and Baboo would be nice.

I am still on the fence with these I am waiting for reviews to come in before I commit to Super 7. Since their price hike I have been less forgiving on the flaws the figures have. I may just get the zords and monsters.

While there is a niche for super screen-accurate versions, a slightly altered version makes for a better toy all around.
And it's neat to see weird takes on the model like that Flame Toys version that I've seen neither hide nor hair of since the announcement.

If they're going to put out a dozen fucking Daizyujins, they might at least try something a little different with each.

But I don't know if "product dimensions" is just the height or not, because Goldar's is set at 11", and there's no way he's that tall. The obvious answers are Bulk & Skull, and all of Rita/Zedd's recurring minions, but I'm also hoping we get figures of the rangers in civvies. I know it's never been done before, but I really want it. I do think they should slow down and only do 1 ranger per wave, though. And if they do Bulk and Skull, they could space them out between 2 waves like they did for Bebop and Rocksteady in the TMNT line. Same with Squatt and Baboo.

If they really do go beyond MMPR, I hope it's not for a while, and even then I'm only interested in Zeo. Super 7 already takes over a year from announcement to release to ship out a wave, so I'd rather they be a little more focused on one series as opposed to Hasbro.

You know, I was thinking if they did another Season 1 Zord that it would be the Dragonzord Fighting Mode, but Cyclopsis would be a petty badass choice as well. Cyclopsis is another one of those characters where you can't believe they've never had a toy made of them before.

The only ones that come to mind are Cyclopsis, Serpentera, and Doomtrom from Lightspeed.
And of those, Serpentera is the only one to get a toy, having not been outright evil in the Sentai.
