Cityfags do you perfer using the new roadplates or do you build them yourself? I quite like them but building on different levels like in picrel seems impossible.

I don't get people who brick-build roads, it just feels overly expensive and an overuse of parts. In that one I guess I get it since it's for a slope, but I'm not a big fan of stressing bricks sout like that by bending them either. If I were to have a permanent city setup I'd use these for the roads and just use some waterslide decals or stickers for the road stripes.

Me neither. I also don't like how they look. That's why I want to stick to the raod plates or the tiles you posted. But building a slope isn't that easy since you can't connect them on an angle.
Bevins has a video up where he shows how to do this but it takes a lot of space.

Honestly I say just build your own version of what you want. Aftermarket / unofficial replacement sails can be bought for fairly cheap, and like you said the baseplate is ~$40, the printed panels between 5-10 each, with large flag another 15. If you already have some stuff to work with, it ain't bad.

You could make an affordable replica or replacement for yourself much cheaper than the $400+ pricetag of just replacing the set. The instructions themselves can cost $50 or more.

Honestly I get relatively little joy in owning a $50-$75 minifig, especially when they just gets hidden in a sprawling layout. Most of my expensive ones just sit in a bag so they don't get damaged.

I have sold expensive childhood sets only to go back and buy the few key parts I need or wanted from it.

We can't go back, but you can make what you want to see!

I always got space and underwater stuff as far as raised baseplates go, pirates was just *slightly* before my childhood time, so now that I'm older I'm trying to flesh out my collection (I always pined after sets that were a few years older than what was available based on the catalogues I got from an older sibling).

The green rock version only came in the pirate base set, but the grey rocks came on both the imperial trading post and the el dorado fortress.

The railroads could be a problem, but I think that there are workarounds on the roads. I think you can compensate. There was a tutorial that I read once that did all the math of it. Maybe it could work? http://thetechnicgear.com/2014/02/howto-create-lego-train-inclines/

I'm pretty sure you can use picrel to put roads on the system again. It would take a little bit of trial and error and math though.

As for the inclines, it would be trick to make it legal. Maybe there's a piece that could connect the rails?

A small Spanish lookout from the same wave, Cheers anon sadly the whites are pretty discoloured and the sails were yellowed but the sails were fixed with bleach it's missing some rope elements that it just dawned on me I should have grabbed with my b&p order. I wish I had more Spanish minifigs but they are costly these days.

This was a great wave for me because for some reason it was getting hit by shoplifters harder than any other CMF wave I've ever seen. Every time I went to walmart I found handfuls of CMF pieces scattered loose all over the shelves and floor. I was taking home a pocket full of pieces every trip. I ended up with almost three complete Calculators (love that solid-white power armor) because it seemed like they were only interested in the Batman variants. I don't think I actually paid for more than one or two CMFs but I have a lot of parts from that wave just from finding them loose. I've never seen that before or since.

Watching Fallen Kingdom atm, is Indoraptor worth considering before the prices get too crazy? I know the Indominus Rex got a reprint with the camp cretaceous sets, but does it seem likely they would rerelease the Indoraptor somehow?

This one seems more obscure and even more convoluted in lore if they seriously tried to have the Indoraptor return somehow so I am more leaning towards it's not something we will get again.

Not really impressed with the new wave. The Giganotosaurus doesn't really compare favorably to the previous flagships Indoraptor and Indominus rex respectively. I don't believe it will be as well received by collectors.

The cartoony looking battle damage doesnt help either.

Probably because I like the original indominus so much im kind of offended the new Giga is just a slight mod.

It doesn't stand out, it really needed its own custom head.

My local auction site called trade me on occasion I like to check the lego by latest listing it came up as starting bid of 55 or buy now for 60, I figured they fucked up on the price but apparently not.

I have gotten some deals like my $45 pharaohs quest pyramid that was missing 3 bits ( machine gun, 1x2 slope and 2x2 tile and was missing 2 stickers.), slightly less of a deal was $200 for the oriental adventure dragon Palace only missing a red 1x1 plate.

/lg/ I need your advice again. I'm trying to figure out how to build my city. I'm not 100% sold on MILS but I like the way you easily can connect things.
The standard way of doing the road is to have sidewalks on each side.
However since the buildings already have sidewalks they become unreasonably big.
So I figured I should remove them and just connect the road itself to the building. But this leaves me with empty space on the baseplate. I thought about just using smaller baseplates but the ones I need aren't readily available as the regular 32x32.

That might be possible but not all buildings have the same sidewalk. Bevins does a mixture of both. His custom Café Corner doesn't have sidewalks and uses the ones on the road while the other buildes have them or are used for parking which I find clever.

I think I will stick with MILS and try to find other ways to use the space. Instead of having sidewalks I'll add a trainrail that's flush with the road and put some flowers and tress on the empty space.

2014 is better in nearly every way with the boat, wider range of realistic vehicles, a dedicated stationary base.

The one single thing 2018 has is the critters, woolly mammoth and sabretooth are A+ but can't save it alone.

Last year the Speed Champions Ford GT + Bronco had a limited retailer availability. For example, Amazon and many other chains did not have the set. Fortunately, one (1) of the local chains in my country stocked it, and I found the set.
The Mercedes double pack seems to be the same thing this year. Can't find it on Amazon, etc.
Is this common practice with Lego?

That's the thing with these lego games, the in-game builds have no obligation to conform to shit like gravity or any kind of structural stability. is the problem pieces not being the right colors or the right pieces not being there in any color? if its the former you could build your car in multicolor first and once youre happy with the overall design check bricklink if those pieces are available in the colors you want them in, then order the right pieces to finish the model

Its the lack of pieces if anything. I don't really have any lego pieces just sitting and thinking of getting some but I want something that has flat, curves, round peices. Something that can make a car.

I lack imagination and assemble as I go. So if theres like a bundle of some sort for those peices would really help.

Yes, it has been but I feel like over the past 10 years they've been bumping up the prices because they can get away with it. It makes sense when you see the Star Wars Probe Droid MSRP as $60 but then you can but it for $48 from different stores. Meaning they have that higher price for early buyers yet that's not even actual value of the set, at $48 I'm sure they're still making a ton of profit.
