It's not that much lack of articulation than gravity being a thing. Just look at the bulk of the upper body and how little surface is touching the ground. With a stand it would be way easier, but that's not the point of these threads.

The point of these threads with weird poses is usually to balance the figure unassisted. Using a stand removes any challenge.

It's also muscle compression, which action figures are not capable of, as well as animation proportion warping for exaggerated effect. Pose threads with irl references tend to be more fun imo

More like more boring. It's fun to try and replicate what animation can do with the limits of what figures can do. Makes the engineering all the more appreciated for those that can hit it the closest.

Fair, I guess, but the irl photos tend to have some sort of context that people can play around with, whereas here it's just a bunch of figures laughably failing at hitting the pose.
