>>9742418>Where would I even start if I wanted to start collecting now?Buy a starter pack or a core single, starter packs are the better choice for the rulebook and it's the only way to get an Ultra Bakugan in Evolutions currently. If you want to have a full sampling of the current year's gimmicks, I'd suggest buying a Battle Strike pack, it contains two core Bakugan, one platinum Bakugan, a Geogan, and two Nanogan. If you want to start playing the card game, you have to be lucky enough to find any of the card packs or the Geogan Rising starter sets, of which they haven't been many.
>Also I heard there were huge rule changes to the game, is it better or worse? The game had a full TCG throughout Battle Planet before eventually dying in Geogan Rising, with the exception of the mentioned Geogan Rising starter decks. A basic TCG game requires you use three Bakugan, three character cards, two Bakucores for each Bakugan that correspond with their character cards, and a full 40-card deck. Support pieces like Geogan, Nanogan, and Gear are all optional.
If you're playing the toy battling game, it's basically the same thing but without the 40 card deck. You also have the option of using gate cards, which operate like large versions of Bakucores, requiring only one Bakugan to stand to start a brawl. This is completely unlike the legacy rule that needs two Bakugan from both opponents on a card to start a brawl, I will never get over this change because I expected the new gate cards to act in the same way they did in the legacy series.
