The issue is who do you pose Zed and prob rita with? They are going to be too big to be next to the Rangers, and they almost never grew large to fight the zord.

It would be okay for the other monsters to be that size since if they are a little bigger you can fudge it, or at least just have them in their giant forms fighting the megazord. The OP pic looks good for most but Super 7 decided that bigger is better and fuck scale.

People were pissed that the Lightning Collection monsters were too big for the Lightning Collection Rangers long before the Ultimates were even announced, but Super7 apparently took a look one look at all the hate that decision was getting and decided "Yeah, that looks good, let's do that."

I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but my favorite MMPR figuers to date are the 2014 action heroes. They weren't the most poseable or the most realistic, but they had something all these other recent attempts lack. They were fun toys. They were also in perfect scale with all those great monster figures Bandai made 20 years prior.

Truly just when you think they can’t care less about PR. Anyway these got revealed today. Pink is actually Kat, not Kim. I wasn’t expecting a Pink Ninja with 5-6 heads but considering Kim isn’t even in hand yet, Kat being revealed feels sloppy.

See you guys in 3 months when they actually have new product to show off. I like this line a lot but considering I only get figures from it 3-4 times a year, it’s hard to stay hyped.

Hasbro keeps trying to make 1/144 a selling point (i assume because of gundam even though designer only said "robots"), but the dragonzord fits with none of my HG gundams because the dragonzord isn't completely painted.

At this point if they were doing 1/144 i'd rather it be handed off to bandai spirits for the real grade line. It would fit better their and actually look good next to painted gundams

Overall 0/10. The 1/144 thing ruins it for me. Model kits or nothing.

There is nothing stopping Bandai from doing literally anything with the Sentai license except their own apathy. Hasbro only has, effectively,the license to do the adaptation outside of Japan. Bandai could do a yearly SoC release, model kits, continue the SHF line. But they don't

What are they even basing the 1/114 scale on? There's no real world reference in regards to size, and shit from the same season isn't even in scale with each other because they all just default to the same jap in suit height. It always made me laugh when individual Zords would be the same size as the combined Megazords.

The LC Power Sword looks to be completely inferior to the Legacy, but I understand they had to gimp the blade to insert the light-up feature no one asked for. At least the sculpting on the pommel is more show-accurate than Bandai America's sculpt. Kudos to the team for managing to get one detail correct! =)

If you want monsters you should care about the scale because the scale is turning off a lot of consumers and dooming future monsters from being made. The wave 1 monsters sold so poorly they shitcanned the dedicated monsters sub-line and rolled them into a deluxe subline with Rangers/vehicles. If they continue to sell poorly they will drop monsters from the deluxe sub-line completely and just make it Rangers/vehicles, and probably Battlized Rangers eventually. Eye Guy and Pudgy Pig are shelf warming hard, so a lot is riding on Pirantis Head and whatever other monsters Hasbro has in the pipeline for waves 2 and 3 of deluxe. If the monster following Pirantis Head doesn't finally fix the scale issue I think it's gonna be a curtain call on monsters. Retailers aren't gonna keep ordering shit that isn't moving.

Dunno why that was their thought process, save a little money by shrinking the things to normal size, use the extra money to give it decent paint, then sell them for $30 a pop. I’d pay that much for an accurate (both painted and scaled) monster. King Sphinx was the main one I wanted, to pair with Goldar, but still. That's absolutely the case, the unique tooling makes them more expensive, and the sizing is Hasbro's way of trying to justify the increased price point. I think most people would have been happy to pay the extra $10 for them had Hasbro scaled them properly and been upfront about them needing to cost more. The other option would be to make the monsters less articulated to reduce the cost and keep them within the standard price point. I mean do we really need 25 PoA on monsters of the week who were barely mobile in the first place? Bandai's monsters were almost never as articulated as their Rangers, and to this day they're some of my most cherished toys because the sculpting on them was so good.

Everyone here pretends that your average normie remembers every episode of PR with autistic detail. I've been into sentai for 4 or so years, and watched pr until i was ten. I have no clue who pirantishead is. I only know king sphinx from a retrospective. I only know pumpkin rapper from memes, and i don't know who pudgy pig is. These are literal background star wars characters to 99% of people. (As an aside the only zyuranger villain i remember is the knight with the sword and the genie. No clue what thier names are.)

Their only hope of selling was to look good and be a good value (aka big) but they ran out of paint budget (the real issue). Other than that every casual fan who picked these up on sale loves these things. Its only hardcore autists who dislike them for scaling reasons

So is any non-MMPR Ranger. When you make a wave that consists of Zeo Yellow, Phantom Ranger, In Space Pink, and Dino Charge Green you're clearly not banking on casual consumers to sustain your toyline.

Now maybe Hasbro thought monsters would be different and could be something which appealed to casual consumers who aren't PR fans, and I'd say that's not a completely unfounded idea... if they weren't $30. $30 is a hard sale for characters who even hardcore fans of the property would consider niche, so casuals were never going to flock to that line unless it got clearanced. If they wanted to sell cool monsters to casuals they should have made them simple $10 sofubi's. The only way for monsters to be profitable at a $30 price point is if the hardcore fans want them, and they're losing a significant portion of that consumer base when they arbitrarily fuck with shit like scale.

Brian Goldner, Hasbro's CEO at the time, was the one who wanted Power Rangers and campaigned for it. He was a former Bandai employee and friend of Haim. In August 2020 he disclosed having had prostate cancer since 2014. He died from it in October of 2021, and probably disclosed having it the year prior because of declining health. I've pointed out on multiple occasions that the suit actors in Japan were over six feet, while the stuntmen they had in the Ranger suits were routinely UNDER it. It's not in scale with the American actors, but it IS in scale with the actual combat sequences, which used Japanese actors

This is some serious mental gymnastics. The monster actors would have needed to be at least 7.5 feet tall in order for those figures to be in scale with the Rangers. Nobody would be complaining if the monster figures were 6.5 inches compared to 6 inch Rangers.

A villain named Reaghoul had the power of resurrection and used it to revive Zedd and make him his minion. During the episode, the Rangers free Zedd from Reaghoul's control and Zedd kicks everyone's ass and escapes out into the universe. This was in Season 1 of Power Rangers Dino Fury (the current season). The first half of Season 2 has been released on Netflix, and we're assuming Zedd will make a return appearance of some kind in the second half.

Not meaning this as a bragpost, more out of wanting to spread it somehow - found a guy on Mercari who had done a custom paint job on the Hasbro Thunder Megazord figure. This thing is fuckin incredible, just an enormous step up from the original figure while losing none of the poseability. He's only done a few customs according to his shop and this was the only Megazord, but I'm trying to encourage him to do more, because this feels like it gets a hell of a lot closer to what people here have wanted over time compared to the standard releases and we are hungry for this kind of thing. If I see him put more up, I'll link them here.

I don't get the point of blackwashing figures. I get that the idea is to help bring out the detailing on the figure, but it always just makes the figure look dirty. That's great if the character is meant to look like that, but otherwise... I dunno, maybe they're just not for me, or I haven't ever really seen it pulled off well, or something. Aside from the blackwash, though, the paint job itself does look really nice.

He went way overboard with the wash. Alot of the paint didn't dry properly, theres no primer, and overall this isn't that good.

That being said if you want something painted buy model kits since you can seperate parts to be painted individually. This really would've benefited from not being hand painted. Already not priming is a recipe for disaster and you can tell he didn't thin paints
