The only Greenlight car I have is the Bluesmobile, and the only "true 1/64 scale" car I have is this '67 Eldorado by Auto World. Coincidentally, both actual cars measure in at 221 inches, give or take. Can't say if this is consistent across all Greenlight cars, but the picture speaks for itself.

I prefer both front and rear wheels equal in size. I like the Civic but that custom doesn't really scream drag racer until it was pointed out. Even if it makes sense for its drag purpose I just can't get into it because of the wheels. Guess it's not for me after all.

Not that anon, but the Civic Custom looks more like a race car than a drag car. It doesn't have the parachute pack on the back like that picture there. Not all drag racers have a parachute pack but serious ones do and that civic is kinda implied to be one. I honestly think that civic should have the pack, would look nice alongside other drag racers that do like the super volt and mustang gt etc.

That sucks, but it doesn't make them any less boring of a wheel. They should just make a better fat-sidewalled option. Given how much of their lineup is classics and muscle cars, you'd think they'd invest a little bit of effort.

About the two Fat Bastards I got... They're "Shorstax," now. A dumb idea no one asked, but it's worth a curiosity I was thinking for months.

Some issues:
1: The Fatbax axles are thicker than usual (makes sense because it means that it won't be bent easily).

2: Applying the wheels with a couple paper clips for added height ends up being too loose. That's due to the gap between the Fatbax wheels & base being narrower than usual.

3: This is an easy fix, but I should've use a drill to take apart instead of that weird ball tip. That, I could tap a screw on it.

I think that might have been the last example of that coming with the plow. They continued to use the casting for a few more years but with no plow, so it just looked like a weird truck. They still had the plow slot though, so you could put a spare in there

Idk what cars you are looking for or what kind of quality level you expect, but if you or someone you know has a Costco membership, every year around September they get pallets of Maisto 1/18 cars. They are $13 a pop, and are extremely well detailed for that price point.

The quality is so good quite a few companies put the cars in their own boxes and sell them for $60+. Might be worth looking into if you want some decent looking stuff but aren’t looking for something with microscopic details

I would say this about the trapezoid-5 wheels, I'm really not a fan of those. The only color they work in is black, I've painted over them in some of my hw that have them.
Generic 5 spoke is fine, especially in smaller sizes. Big ones get a bit comical. Though, the fairly recent "hot rod 5 spoke" that's been in Barracuda Formula S, Beetle, REPU, etc... is vastly superior to the classic 5 spoke.
Btw found pic related last week, long cards are not common here in yurop.

Transparent green was such a whacky choice for that car. With accelecharged anthracite, it was purple and yellow- opposite colors. Battle Spec was already blue and orange, so you'd just kind of assume they'd make it a clear blue body. Or maybe give it the green wing like the green Synkro.
Regardless, I still want one. Not a whole lot to actually spend the money on one, but still.
Regardless of that tho, grey is a killer color on this car.

Got this lightbox and figured it served as really neat display.

I sometimes watch noriyaro, so finding a daijiban in a local store was fun
I hardly ever buy new Hot Wheels but couldn't let this one slide with those colours. While I love the roof window as an idea I wouldn't mind it to have a more regular roof for this specific style of car. (The influence seems to be more grounded, but more fantasy styled colours wheels and liveries I'd probably love it.) Probably for stability the rear door windows are blocked, kind of an odd decision otherwise.
Looking inside to see the kart is neat. Wonder if they'll do one with a little bike or even other stuff inside.

I'm not sure how I feel about opening doors at 1/64 scale. Opening hoods are great, but the gaps on the sides break up the bodylines too much at that size. For me, anyway.

I posted a pic of this matchbox Caprice earlier, but it really is an unexpected favorite. I had one of these B-body GMs and this is just a great rendition of it. This bodystyle gets a lot of hate from some folks, but I really like it; the big, open greenhouse reminds me of huge American shit from the late 50s/early 60s, and fender skirts on a 90s police car? Yes please. The lack of tampos on the front brings it down a bit, but with the complexity of the side tampos, I can see why they skipped it. And I love these MBX wheels for police cars, they're absolutely perfect.

I wasn't very fond of the 54th anniversary color scheme at first, but once I got one in hand, I warmed up to it. It's definitely unique compared to what they've already done, and the bubblegum pink chrome is really cool. Wonder what next year's colors will be...

And they were certainly more powerful; the later model years used a de-tuned version of the Corvette V-8. The dashboard is huge, the trunk is cavernous, and it has one of the only front bench seats that realistically seated 3 adults. When I had mine, it was actually too wide to be permitted on the Mount Washington climb. Pretty sure the gross weight is over 3 tons, too. Such a great send-off for the true 'Murrikan sedan. Shame there's no diecast version of the Roadmaster wagon that was built on this same chassis. A gorgeous whale of a car.

Never really had a problem with them if the casting looks good. My only real gripe with them was they would bend or otherwise break/misalign and it would make them look kind of sad if you don't like the banger look.
I don't mind toy cars looking toyish.

While they feel good to open and close I never actually did that too much for display/play.

I'd usually go for a nice "random" all over colour composition. Although I'm a bit of a artist colour autist and often change things up. I recon that'd be a pain.
Do you have a very wide selection of cars? Or do you (unconsciously or consciously) have a few specific themes of type of cars or type of colours?
Do you care more about being able to find some of them or if they fit in a certain room or place? All things i'd personally keep in mind. Depending on how much it's display/decoration or convenient storage to you.

Speaking of storage, I found this neat matchbox carry case on a recent national holiday where everybody has little fleamarket stands. I'm really happy with it and can easily store many of the loose cars i've got littered on my desk in case I need to clean up or work from home without them in the way. From a distance kind of looks like a toolbox.

A small custom job. The HW Rescue '96 Impala with the fire dept tampos was so boring to look at, I made this. Wheel swap, repaint, added some detail and finished it off with those Super Sport tampos. I'm happy with the result.

Good shit. Protip: You can get 2 of them if you have 20 other mainline cardboard backs sitting around at home. Open 20 of your newer mainlines if you have to. The promotion takes basically any cardbacks from last year til now.

The important part of this is buying the 20 mainlines from Kroger, returning them immediately after, and buying them again. That way you have 2 receipts saying you bought 40 total cars. Don't even leave the store in between those steps. Usually I have to explain to the cashier why I'm doing it. "There's a special mail in offer going on right now, I need receipts saying I bought 40 total cars, yes I have autism."

If you want to do this whole thing, make sure you order 2 Porsche from the website, and pay the extra S&H fee. I've been doing this for years, it always works.

The grille is just black acrylic into the crevices. Black has a good coverage so rather thin paint does the job, and it's easy to wipe off while wet.
I actually like the idea of grey rims, I might still do that. I just blacked (heh) them because they were chrome blue originally and that wasn't okay.
