classic megaman and protoman feel much lighter/looser in terms of joints. i wouldnt say they are super fragile though. you can still handle them like a normal toy.
the more recent X kits feel a lot more sturdy and the joints are fairly good. hands pop off pretty easily though. you can either see that as a good thing or a bad thing but i guess that depends on how often you want to switch out the hands. never had them fall out on their own though.

but yeah, spure cutters/nippers, hobby knife and some sandpaper/sticks( is a good starting point.
with the sandpaper, just get one of those sets to make it easier, usually they are like 400 to 1000 something grit.
