>>9767869>It was Hasbro that wanted them in the movies though. It was Bay that hated the idea of robot dinosaurswatch interviews about how putting the dinobots into FOC worked.
they specifically mentioned that they had to make a big presentation to explain why it would be good.
Hasbro just didn't believe
That's why the "dinobot" portion of the game is tacked onto the end and seems like DLC.
AoE was originally two different scripts, one about galvatron and humans creating the transforming tech and team Prime getting new recruits, and another about Lockdown hunting down autobots and Prime having to free and recruit the dinobots.
Then it got mashed together by either bay or bonaventura, I forget which, but I'm leaning towards bonaventura.
Hasbro "pushed" the dinobots in the marketing after FoC became a proven success. AoE was announced 6 months before FoC came out, but the movie came out 2 years later leaving plenty of time for hasbro to see dinobots were a hit, and pivot to focus on it for toys and merch and whatnot
It's possible that hasbro pushed for the dinobot script to be added in. The name wasn't decided on until a year in, and the other names didn't evoke the dinobots, but filming did start less than a year after FOC came out, which means they probably settled on the scripts pretty close to FOC' time, because they would have had to have time for casting, finding shoot locations, etc.
