I was in a store yesterday and saw a lone Kingo hanging out next to a bunch of McFarlane figs. Pretty sad sight.
There was also a Morbius statue tucked away in an entirely different corner of the store that made me burst out laughing when I saw it.

Anyway that is mostly year 1. Year 2+ has toned down the Death Metal Batmen a bit although they aren't totally gone

Im surprised there arent any anons saying infected superman was their favorite. He got a lot of praise here when he was new.

I only have hal ( i sold dawnbreaker), action 1000 superman and the white knight batcycle.
The cycle is my favorite, supes and hal are nice figures, but i have my gripes with them.
Too many unnecessary details on hal.
Supes' head sculpt is kinda weak, i dont like the cuffs, and sucks that his arms are single jointed, also i really dislike the red on his S being metallic.

We all know Todd's personal preference is pure sculpt, but as he's said, money is in articulation recently (as their sales showed) and so he moved in that direction. Just because it isn't his favorite (or even doesn't like it) doesn't mean he can't hire people to produce those things. You know, in case some of you actually think Todd actually makes these personally in any ways outside of possibly just giving things the ok.

One thing that would be nice if Todd took a vested interest in articulation, because I think if he actively wanted to ensure that articulation is as inobtrusive as possible to make everything as nice as possible while being functional that this may result in a superior product. Some things in a solid direction is those sculpted joints that integrate with the sculpt better while not changing the functionality.

That's what's most infuriating about Todd's line, HE SEEMS TO GIVE A SHIT MORE ABOUT MAKING BETTER FIGURES, he just doesn't think articulation matters. I know that if Todd cared to make the same types of figures as ML he'd blow them out of the water, but he'd rather put out statues with cut up articulation.

Another example would be the sculpted faces on the elbow and wrist joints of the Mandarin Spawn. Some DC figures (and possibly others) have also begun to incorporate this kind of sculpted joint.

These have a slight advantage of coming with comic books, but I think eaglemoss figurines are the best bet if you really want to collect in a small scale. Yeah, they're basically statues, but with such a size, any articulation at all is close to pointless.

I really dig the comic inclusion honestly. That's what I like about the eaglemoss figurines, they came with "case file" pamphlets detailing the characters' history.
I'm not very sold on the degins yet, but with this scale, you can only really tell the quality in person.
I own some, and they look better from afar. So it might be a similar case with these.

Anyone not clicking on these images, the paint apps are crooked and the paint was so shit it would just rub off by handing them. Paint would flake off like its brushed on gold leaf on plastic. Literally knockoff quality, from the scale, mold reuse, to the paint.

The Mattel looks like a decent sculpt ubried under bad paint and production. The spinmasters one is just awful outside of the articulation. Soft as shit face sculpt, awkward as fuck limbs, , glorified block for a torso. Just awful and primitive all around.

The sculpts were shit and soft, and had more mold reuse than the DCUC line. They had to paint on details that were supposed to be physical, because they tried to save as much money as possible.

To even say that Spinmasters are soft as shit sculpts ignores that they're supposed to be cartoony style, while these pieces of shit had realistic styles that made them look worse because of the low quality everything Mattel gave them.

A couple of years later they started making those 1:18 Multiverse figures with brand new molds for everyone, but man, with the cheapshit paint they used they ended up looking terrible.
Mattel can do nothing right.

What's weird about hating shit figures?
Nearly 20 years of the DC license being misused and given a bad rep, because a toy company wanted to spend the least amount of money they could.
We saw innovations with a dozen other toylines, enjoyed a bunch of great figures everywhere else, except for DC, because the biggest toy company in the world was penny pinching the DC license as hard as possible. Thankfully DCC started making articulated figures in the late 10s and WB finally grew tired of Mattel's shit by 2020... but that's still nearly 20 decades of having shits on a stick waved at us... which some people actually paid money for and ate up with a smile on their face.

Also glad the forearms were worked out. If that cape comes off without ruining it it might look good with another cape and closed mouth. The head also looks more Hush than it did before.

Yeah, it is missing the point, but there might be collectors like me who'll buy a shity 5PoA because it'll actually fit into the rest of their collection.
Not everyone likes retro shit but they might dig a small figure that looks modern that they can put on their desk.
