Comparing it to others, its actually better, certainly better effects (looks nothing like Ignition tier effects where they are still uses MSPaint effects in the two latest videos) when it looks more like this one used adobe and other smoother products.

The only thing other than that I wonder about is why exactly did the Mask of Destiny Server go down? It isn't like /LEGO/ had anything to do with it but they sure don't let a good crisis go to waste when it comes to burning books (in this case a digital library of content).

Animation standards are generally higher than 2007.
There's a lot less of chunni MOCs clanging their weapons in 2fps stopping evey 3 seconds to talk in Movie Maker text, but the "niche" has become a bit more saturated and thus a bit harder to find anything of note. Plus since it's hard to commit to stopmotion a lot of these newer channels burn out after only a few videos and move on.

One of the things, granted, that made Bionicle work was that at least 1 out of every 5 committed projects would end up carrying the year for a given line (like MNOGG), and as a result the ascetic of getting out carried into a new world was achieved.

What it needs is an understanding of the timing with public sentiment. Another factor is whether we have a big drive for wanting to take the ascetic and use it for escapism like with the first bionicle line. The second bionicle line flopped as they believed that just the name and some vague reference to advertising would work.

Guys not as high quality as someone like Socketball or Zhokker, but he's a fair bit more active, and he's the only one of any of them that has both open commissions and offers Kaukau's (sure Socket can make them clearly but he hasn't sold a one outside of Brickfairs and it's been years since he said he was getting ready to open up commissions). He also likes to get really creative with the colours and other additives he'll experiment with (i.e. glow in the dark, pearlescent material, etc)

So far iirc for my commission's he's running Kaukau's at $10 a pop, and his prices in total are between $5-$15 depending on complexity (not counting dye and/or other material purchases if you want something he doesn't have stocked up, and mold making for masks he doesn't have yet).
Additional benefits are his shippings hella cheap 'cause he gave me an estimate of $8 and I'm a fucking Canuck! Our shipping sucks literal ass!

Yeah, in one of his recent livestream videos he's wearing makeup and a bad wig. Prior to that, he was given a bunch of sets for use in a collaborative stopmotion project, but he dropped out of it to focus solely on his kickstarter thing. So he was just sitting on a bunch of sets that weren't his and threw a hissy fit when he was asked to send them back because he "didn't have any time". He did a video of himself packing them all up and was acting all depressed like taking an hour out of his day to mail some toys back to their owners is the worst thing he's ever had to do. But apparently the stress from that was so bad that it fucked his brain up beyond repair.

I feel kind of bad for the dude. He obviously has a lot of talent and is capable of making cool stuff. But his ideas are extremely overambitious and as a result his project looks completely unprofessional. Thanks to his autism he's completely incapable of seeing this, and his mental health is only going to get worse at this rate.

Ive talked to this jackass on more than one occassion. Hes completely inept. He has no idea what gear ratios are, he has no idea of how motors work. I dont want a G3. I want something worthy of replacing it. Ffs most of my mocs are straight up technic with bonk pieces for flavor. My blue toa uses less than 20 actual bonk exclusive molds. "Bringing Bionicle Back" cannot actually happen.
They wont add onto 10+ years of lore. They wont be able to restore that feeling of mystique that the early era had. Technic functions are ass unless theyre on Rahi. (Tarakava are PEAK bonk.) Hero Factory couldnt distinguish itself enough, despite introducing ccbs, which is clunky due to being based on balljoints, allowing parts to be in constant flux. Which is just infuriating.
Honestly, the only thing I want is a re-release of the mata mask recolor polybags in order to tank the scalper market.

Sometimes it requires illegal builds (i.e. rubber-bans or pressure), but they can be pretty useful to get some interesting shaping into the silhouette of your moc

But at the cost of spending between like, 200-500 (honestly fuck the icy medium blue Kaukau scalpers, why is that bitch somehow even more expensive than the yellow one) just to own a complete set of Kaukau (for some reason the only mask line that caught my eye to the point of obsession. In terms of blue roborider heads specifically, it's definitely because of Helryx, but in general aftermarket part prices are becoming ridiculous. Mainly the scarcity is the issue. Barely any US sellers have anything nor have things in decent quantity, and I haven't been able to justify shipping costs anymore. Last order I did was a month ago from Serbia. I'm going to really try finish what I have for wips and then I think I'm done desu.

Is this rahi worth having? Only had the parts to build 1 hybrid creature, the rubber bands have completely disintegrated.

I do have a trade offer to trade for a hero factory scorpio which I am tempted to take. But I could always just buy one.

Was planning to hold onto it and upgrade it, but I have so much other stuff to work on, I don't think I'd ever get around to.

Might have been me, I've seen you on the Konstruktor server as well. Their small technic bits, ball joints and mixel ball joints are a blessing. Also transparent curved slopes, because lego refuses to produce such a thing. Plus colour variety in general. They even have things that lego doesn't have, like the 1×2 plate with studs on either side.
Plus since Konstruktor exclusively sells GoBricks parts, the quality is some of the best on the market, and all new parts. Also no hassle of buying from differents stores, no hassle with sellers that send your order without the one piece that lead you to their store because "whoops I didn't have that in stock actually" and then you sit there with a wasted order.
Fuck Lego for not supplying to the demand of single parts, fuck Bricklink sellers too.

For some reason yourwobb (another gobricks seller with a few different colour variants than Konstrucktor on select pieces) doesn't say it has any shipping costs but I don't know how much I trust the site isn't just bugging out

I miss Bionicle School if anyone remembers that.

We had Achar as the teacher and there was one episode where it was "bring your pet to school day" and one cunt brought with him a Tarakava and the Mike Tyson biomechanical animal terrorised the whole school for like 2 whole episodes. Then we had the Nektann Bionicle Stars Piraka create a group of bullies and he even wore a necklace like an actual gangster. It eventually evolved into an all out war series where we had Gresh as the villain and he worked to bring keetongue back to life. This was entirely ripped from Bayformer Revenge of the Fallen by the way because the only way to get Keetongu back was through killing off Kopaka and I distinctly recall hearing the in background "The Last Prime is dead" literally pulled from the movie.
Eventually they series went back to its roots and we had a follow up series of Bionicle School.

And there was this one movie which was directly inspired by Legends of Metru Nui. Now it was stop motion where we had Lhikan dying with half his body missing and being under rubble before creating a new toa team and the leader using the Mask Of Time.

I can recall this however: At some point everyone moves to another house because thet are moving and you had Takadox sip starbucks coffee at the air port. Like an physical airport I mean from our world because the series was captured through just pictures. I then recall him looking through the window of the car in the middle of the night looking all excited due to being whiggled around a bit.
He would then wear a nursery hat aswel in the later series when they got in the new house.
