Because it's Lego. They don't have infinite sizes of window pieces or wheels, they're limited by the existing pieces and the amount of detail and complexity they want the thing to be. For it to transform without being a fiddly mess they need a big size.

Got Legacy Dragstrip, hes fine. I like the headsculpt, extra gun and altmode, spoiler is a bit low but still fine, botmode is frustraiting cause he was really close to be really good, the floating wheel looks like its untransformed or missing a step, same for the collar.

I have them. Roadfire likes to tip over backwards. For Atlas, they basically did the bare minimum to make the TR Overlord mold into not an oversized duocon and connected the two parts with a thin bar of plastic, which leaves his waist wobbly in robot mode. Also his wings require partsforming between modes. Other than that, they're fun.

There isn't really, but on rewatching the Nightbird episode recently I noticed she wasn't actually drawn that small (she's closer to Optimus' height than any of the smaller Autobots) so maybe if the MP was small enough (to scale with the larger MPs) she'd sit right around a decent height. That's exactly what they think. They believe just pushing the brand is good enough. It's hurt the brand as well, because kids in general don't seem to care about Transfomers outside of toys, which ironically means they won't be interested as much in the more expensive products.

The fucks ups started during Prime. It was already on a premium channel so most kids couldn't watch it, plus the show had no idea what it wanted to be until it was nearly over.

RID was not a typical transformers show while also being the first show with the new standard for tv show tie in toys (warriors are the "decent" figures while everything else is gimmicks or smaller budget figures). Honestly, RID had some decent looking robots, too bad most didn't get any figures.

I quite like them, but most people's criticisms are valid.

Roadfire is the best of the three, with Dai Atlas close behind, despite his flaws; his wobbly waist is unfortunate, but it doesn't stop him from posing and looking cool. The near-absent thighs do suck, but to me it's definitely worth getting one of the filler kits that also double as tank missile pods; then you can disassemble his waist joint and just turn him back into a duocon, which makes him more fun, anyway. Sonic Bomber is cool-looking and all, but the retools made to this mold really downgrade it; Misfire is one of my absolute favorite figures and I expected to love a black autobot retool, but nah. His giant elf booties still look really unique, though.

The colors, plastic quality, face sculpts, and paint apps on all three are fantastic, and the box itself is a thing of beauty. If you like Nippon-esque supah robotos and headmasters, I'd say it's a very fun set to own, but I wouldn't break the bank for it. I'm not even sure what it's going for these days.

I meant shins, derp. These are the fillers I bought from Shockwave Lab on ebay. I like that they can peg onto the top if you want to separate the alt modes, or onto the sides of the tank if you want to keep him conjoined.

This is my least favorite meme from the toonshit MPs; the wheel-hiding/swapping. The animation models removed them to save effort, but the designs look so much better with the wheels just hanging wherever they end up. Plus they help some bots to look more like actual transforming vehicles and not just a robot wearing car parts as armor. Trailbreaker in particular. Then the shitty part is that even if we do get a toy-inspired repaint down the line,it gets fucked out of its wheels.

It's.. i mean it's how a scope works.
a telescope, opera glasses, binoculars, anything that magnifies a small area.. if you're looking at it from a distance, great. you've made what would be a speck into an ant. not much of an improvement.
I've seen how snipers use the scope and they've got it up to their face. but they have a rifle stock to brace against their shoulder, and the actiony parts aren't right in front of the sensitive face bits

Grimlock is just over 2/3s the height of Jetfire, Optimus is 1/2.
But you have to consider that deathsaurus converts his tail into a shield and his wings and animal friends would take up a good bit. So the robot itself would be smaller than Grimlock.
Now, if they sold his animal guys as tapes in a seperate pack like they did with doubledealer, you could probably get him a comparable height to Grimlock, just with less beefy arms and legs.

Springer could work pretty well as a base if they retooled his shoulder fenders and the top of his vehicle mode. But on that note, why the fuck haven't we gotten a gen selects crossblades or blue bacchus from him

A new mold could be used for Gunrunner (with a core starscream repaint pack in) or maybe The Fallen (dreamwave style)

You don't hold it up to your eye, because you're looking through something about the size of a quarter while it's only a foot and a half to two feet in front of you. It's not hard to see.
Pistols are for close to mid-range firing. In this scenario, a scope isn't to let you hit something further away, it's to let you more accurately see exactly where you're aiming. Today they use laser sights instead to achieve similar results but each has it's own unique traits and uses.
This sort of thing is really only used in sport shooting, like most gun accessories.
For rifles, you might have both laser sight and scope because a rifle's firing range is so much further than a pistol that you wouldn't be able to easily see the laser dot.
Your typical pistol firing range is 15-30 yards, while your typical rifle firing range is 90-180 yards.

Look, you don't have to have the gun at arms length the ENTIRE TIME you look through the scope, just for the final aiming.

That Star Saber video was nice, the only disappointing thing was the confirmation that the sword will be clear plastic. Really would prefer if it and the Brain of courage just used normal plastic for the whole thing. The other bummer is learning the blade bit didn't have a 5mm port at the end, just an I shaped peg, which means its easier to break and that Saber can't just grab the blade bit instead of the full sword with hilt.

The last one was a new vehicle mode, and the proportions were weird. Calibur had normal proportions (so you didn't need to worry about making it buff or chunk) a normal vehicle mode and the option to armor up if you wanted it to look bulky.

Did I miss something, or does Star Saber not have abduction movement for the shoulders. I assumed they didn't add the missile gimmick original so they could add the join inside it, but it seems like the shoulder movement is limited to 360 degrees and protraction/retraction. The closest thing to abduction is closer to the elbow but it seemed pretty limited and didn't look that good.

When was the last time we got a version of Sandstorm? Was the T30 one the last one? Kind of feels like he's long overdue, and when you consider that we've gotten two Triple Changers this wave already, it might not be weird to get one or two more (We haven't had an Astrotrain in a hot minute, but there's also Tidal Wave to consider, to say nothing of Snapdragon and Apeface)
