Legacy Menasor's legs are compatible with CW limbs, but it's a loose fit. They arms are not. So on the whole, no, Menasor is not CW compatible.

Studio Series has a numerical order so it isn't too hard to keep track of. That gap at the bottom are for DotM Bee, Sideways, and someone else... they have Takara numbers but not Hasbro yet.

I didn't split up the exclusives, I learned that some steps to completing the list are kinda tricky.
Also the core class guys don't have numbers so I wasn't sure how to include them.

It's been a while since Takara announced news on a new BWMP, so maybe after Trailbreaker they'll release more news, unless they are going with that Skyfire that was teased a while back (even though it doesn't look like it'll do anything that the Commander Class Jetfire hasn't done already)

It's probably the future ones, which begs the question to how does a leader class Swoop would look like, are they going to do the Voyager+ and give Swoop some mega engineering to reduce his kibble and give him poseability on part with a MP toy?
Or they're just going to sell Swoop at a leader pricetag just so they stock up accessories for the rest of the dinobots so people can ignore third party addons to give Grimlock his sword

He honestly looks as perfect as a mainline figure could possibly be. Damn he looks good. I thought Blackarachnia was already really impressive as a posable action figure, and he looks like an upgrade on that front in just about every way. Transformation looks a lot more solid too.
Wonder if this can just be attributed to him being worked on for longer compared to the Kingdom line. I don't know if that's how lines work.

yeah i'm really hoping they abandon the reissue concept for transmetals because they were all already almost show-accurate, and just do retools. just tweak some proportions, add in better articulation, but otherwise just keep them as-is. maybe fix cheetor's shitty hands and give him better leg transformation. obviously combine tarantulas's eyes back into a visor... see if you can alter megatron so the t-rex head actually becomes the chest..

it is weird we didn't get any normal reptiles in the show except for part of quickstrike, while in the toyline, any normal reptile was fair game. we got a cool snapping turtle, a gator, a half gator half snapping turtle, several different half-lizard half insects, uh.. i guess maybe that's why.. there's not a lot of cool reptiles still walking around in your backyard, really just lizards and turtles and crocs. and a snake is hard to make into a good transformer. all the cool dinosaurs are either dead or hiding.

I say retool him.. keep most of him the same but separate the arms from the hinges, have them just fold up along the body so he can still roll up in bug mode (but leave out the spring aspect) and then fold the shell parts away a little more neatly (maybe hinged along their middle, so they can fold up into big shoulder pads?) and let the head and tail just swing around to be grabbable arm weapons.. bladed.. shields basically.

a) Japan didn't "translate" the BW CGI show in a traditional. Rather it was mostly impromptu comedy done by the voice actors with barely any resemblance to the plots of the American show.

b) They were not aware of the backstory that Primals/Megs were descendants of the original. Rather up until the BW2 movie, they thought Primal was Optimus Prime himself.

Now if maybe a bat could unfold and spring out from what was formerly the polar bear's muscular shoulder hump, sure. that's a cool way to do a probe and use up part of the beast anatomy.
I think the bear arms should slide up a bit to shorten them, and then the part above the new shoulder joint should open into some weapons.

The robot torso doesn't need to be nearly that big. you could make a way smaller snake head with no back kibble (because all the hood-sides folded out into legs or whatever) and make a thicker snake tail arm.. you could even have a hollow tube inside the body where you actually retract the tail into it partially, popping a proper arm out of the other side and shortening the tail side of the tail-arm.

What really gets me is why did all of the stasis pods intrinsically know what forms to take? Like how did Airrazor, Tigatron and Silverbolt all know to take mammals and birds? How did Inferno and Quickstrike know to choose arthropods and reptiles? You could argue that all the OG cast decided on what species to pick from but not the pods.

Also, isn't it funny how Swoop is probably the only other Dinobot besides Grimlock to get a lot of focus in the fiction? He had several stories focused on him in Marvel UK and was basically the star of Desertion of the Dinobots.

As another anon pointed out, he's officially slightly taller than Optimus and Megatron (and barely at that). It's why the initial leak of him being a voyager felt right, It wouldn't be too out of place if he was a tall voyager with his simple transformation. We got Wreck Gar as a voyager after all.

He runs into problems as a leader since not only will he fell undersized, they'd have to figure out what to give him to make up for him being bumped up a size class.

You are doing yourself a disservice not grabbing him.
The only flaws the figure has is that the tail weapon is not removable, and the rubberized plastic on the tail can get bent during transformation if you are not careful.
Otherwise he is incredibly articulated in both modes and can do a ton of great poses.
If it's any indicator how much i love the mold. I bought the other two repaints of it. I own three of these fucking t-rexes.

Transformers Classics Jetfire

Fucking hell yeah, dude. I love this guy.
Some serious play hours on this toy.

Jetfire is some kind of variable wing aircraft with about four guns strapped under his wings and another four on his nosecone.
Eagle-eyed toy enthusiasts may also spot the large booster pack strapped to the top of the fuselage. With ball jointed afterburners.
All the features listed above are removable if you want Jetfire to be naked. But that would make you a pervert.

Flipping him over I can say for certain Jetfire's white isn't quite as crisp as it once was. But he's looking better than some of today's toys, amirite?

So Formula 1 had a specific width and height for front spoilers. The madmen at Tyrrell realized that the front wheels were fucking up the airflow over the car, which meant that there wasn't as much air flowing over the rear wing as possible. Unless you had a real hard-on for Magnus, Jetfire was the prize of the original Classics line.
The heroic white and red, with a few marks of black, is just so striking.
No wonder SG keeps falling back on it.

I never noticed before how the only silver on this guy is his face. The blue light piping doesn't catch light super well but the colour itself is vibrant enough.
Maybe you're supposed to leave the wings down in this "base" robot mode, but I like having them up.

Nah, it was more that his articulation was the standard of the time. He's backheavy when you load him up, but his feet are on points rather than flat, and he has now proper thigh or bicep swivel like you'd expect, instead having the swivels at the knee and elbow.

Hot off the heels of the Unicron Trilogy HasTak were out of practice making toys posable.
No ball joints in Jetfire, save for his neck. Which can look up a very pleasing amount.

Soft ratchets on both axis of the shoulder, soft ratchets at the elbows. No bicep swivels, but he does have a swivel below the elbow as well as a wrist swivel.

Hips ratchet outwards 90 degrees. Those thighs don't leave much to the imagination so you can see that they ratchet forward and back and don't swivel at all.
Ratcheted knees and swivels below the knees.

All the armor up stuff is so fun. I really did love Classics thing for reimagining characters a bit. The toys were allowed to be a new toy of a classic character and also bring some new stuff to the table.

Curious; How many anons have never handled this mold, or anything from the era?

I'm not even saying Blackarachnia is bad, honestly I'd say she's probably the best of the beast deluxes pre-Tarantulas. Really my only complaint with her is how fiddly the last steps of transformation are, which Tarantulas seems to avoid entirely. But it's definitely true that Tarantulas' design lends itself better to that, and certain articulation (like the torso). Just more space to work with.

I think this ties in with another question you might ask: how are they seeing earth animals but still not sure it's earth? It must be that animals similar to these exist throughout the galaxy, on various planets, just like how the star trek keeps meeting aliens that look human. This also explains how they know how to crack jokes about animals and make various other references to them. As such, they were already _potentially_ beastformers even before they left cybertron, beast modes being a thing they had installed into their stasis pods AND equipment they brought on the ship, for just this kind of situation... so it must be that maximals and predacons already have programmed into them which animals they like, just the same as they're programmed to be good or bad.

well they're trying to make little changes here and there to make them look good and to enhance the realism and proportions of their beast modes. In this case, tarantulas's bulbous titties would be showing in spider mode. I quite like how they made them flatter and had the spider head plug neatly into the pecs so they look natural, similar to Insecticon having head-pecs. in scorponok's case, the designer is a hack. the same one fucked up rhinox by basing him on the shitty-looking mobile game. but his chest is flat because it's the big flat chest plate he had on the show, so that's not something you can really fault him for. except again, he made it the mobile game version, so it's all angular instead of a nice gradual tapered monster mouth.

he is. Little proportion nitpicks, but by far the best tyrannoformer we've EVER gotten. including the movie grimlocks, where they never got the neck or feet right.
robot mode is very fun to pose, though you'll wish the t-rex head was bigger when you start swinging it around like a weapon and realize it's just not quite like on the show where he could bite people with it and it looks right.. and the tail weapon seems kinda hollow when you fold the flaps back.
lots of people have had issues with some of his kibble connector tabs snapping, but as breaks go, those are the least troublesome. just means you have to get creative holding the kibble in place. Be careful separating his hips, it requires an alarming amount of force

yeah I've never transformed her without getting confused. The part where you have to hyperflex her knees to get them to lock, and trying to fold them all into the abdomen.. it always feels afterward like it was easy and obvious, despite me having trouble with it. I always feel like I'm the one at fault. also her knee spikes don't seem to need to be as hinged as they are.

but the point is i would only make one lizard transformer. Because once you have one, that's all you need. The rest are all going to be pretty dang similar, even if you go wild into areas like a horned lizard or a skink or those fuckers with the really tiny legs who are almost snakes but not quite. It'd be a rehash, just as it would be if you had a crocodile
Not to mention very few lizards are very fast for very long, they would look kind of ridiculous trying to do the kind of traveling required on Beast Wars (like Rattrap they'd have to probably always hitch a ride).
Basically I meant 'not a lot' literally. they exist, but there's only a few reptile form factors repeated over and over in the herpetological garden. Pumpkin, string bean, ginger root. That's all you get.

So what's your favorite and least favorite Legacy figure so far?

Favorite is Dragstrip, which is kinda surprising because the figure looked pretty shabby in promo shots, but he's surprisingly articulated and fun to transform, works great in both modes.

Least favorite, and disappointingly, is Skids. He's very structurally weak, his vehicle mode roof refuses to stay tabbed in, and transforming him never feels good, like I'm going to end up breaking something.

It looks like it has everything from 2012 to the end of their last continuity, and then about halfway through the current one. Plus the first half of the current beast wars series and other scattered nonsense from IDW.
Worth it? $53 sure isn't bad for nine years of comics, but know that you're only getting what IDW refers to as Phase Two and Three of their previous continuity. It won't hurt your ability to read and enjoy(?) them, but you will be missing out on about five years of stuff that happened beforehand, and then everything in the current continuity that happens after the included volumes.

They've been really inconsistent with giving G2 characters the G2 insignias. Gen selects G2 Ramjet and Sandstorm had regular G1 insignias.

it looks like candy! But it also breaks up lines in the sculpt that obviously aren't meant to be a different color, whereas it adds little tabs in the joints that also really shouldn't be a different color from the rest of the joint. it's terrible overall and it made no sense to mold that as a separate piece, let alone a clear one.
