While I agree, it wasn't the best zelda game, I really enjoyed the designs. I wanted to love it because I was starved for more of that n64 era type of stuff, but alas, there were so many things wrong with it. Play as a wolf for the first 1/4 of the game???? No magic bar??? A suit of armor that drains all of your rupees and then can't even be used once they're depleted????
As for WW, I disliked the aesthetic at first because I typically hate chibi styled stuff, but I think you hit the nail on the head. It did a lof of things really well and felt fresh while doing it (aside from the monotonous sailing of so much open sea filled with nothingness. All the things it did right grew on me super fast.
