Help ID a dragon+rider figure set

i had this figure when i was a kid (early 2000s) of a red dragon and a male dragon rider with a purple coat, a blonde ponytail and it had no joints
the dragon was around 15-20cm long and the rider was around 6-7cm tall
anyone know what i'm talking about?

Could you give a more thorough description of the red dragon? Was it bipedal or quadrupedal? Western or Eastern? Was it wearing any armor, did it have any gimmicks (fire breath missile, flapping wings, etc)? Did it have a large, noticeable gem on its chest? What kind of horns did it have? The more descriptive you are, the better the chances of narrowing things down are.
The two red dragons that come to mind so far are Stendhal Titanium Dragon from the Mega Bloks Dragon line (specifically, the Iron Ages sub-line) and Pyre the Fire Dragon from Knights of Tir Na-Nog. Both of those sound too big...but the red dragon from the Mighty Max Dragon Island playset is around that long and came with (among many others) a Skull Master figure (who couldn't ride the dragon - it only had a slot for Max) that has a purple cape and no joints.

don't remember much about the dragon but was solid darkish red with hints of purple, western, no armor, not sure about the gimmicks but not many joints
the aesthetic was overall pretty "edgy" (with lots of edges) and closer to anime style than western medieval inspired

So it's a pointy, spiky looking red dragon with purple highlights/accents, no armor and not too many joints, that came with a male human rider with no joints, blonde hair in a ponytail (meaning no helmet) and a purple coat that is presumably to match the highlights on the dragon itself?
I'm looking, just having a bit of difficulty turning up anything that matches that exact description. Sadly, dragon toys in general are a lot rarer than they should be, so this isn't gong to be easy unless someone else here had the same toy.

It's a good guess, but I think it's a little too 'serpentine' to fit OP's description; plus, Yugi doesn't have a ponytail.
Bumping with a pic of my Blue Eyes White Dragon Alter, just because - she doesn't match the description even remotely, but I love her and it's an opportunity to show her off.

Blue Eyes ahs always been female - lore behind her in the anime is that she was a human girl with a 'dragon soul' that Kaiba's original incarnation fell in love with; she died, and her soul was sealed in a card that became Blues Eyes White Dragon, hence his obsession with the thing when he's first introduced. Later upgrades make it even clearer she's female - pic related is the official art for her newest form (last time I checked) 'Blue Eyes Abyss Dragon,' and she's undeniably female here.

Back on the topic of what OP is looking for, there's really not enough information to work with here. Is there anything else - a weapon that came with the rider, any recollection of what the toy's packaging looked like - ANYTHING that could give us a little more to work with? Maybe if you popped open MS paint and did a quick scribble of what you remember it looking like? Doesn't need to be the Mona Lisa - I just need something, like the basic silhouette and color placement, to give me a better idea of what you're describing here.

Oh, I like these! Virtually no articulation, but they look really cool and it seems like you can remove those saddles. That dark one with the purple has some rad patterns on his wings, too. Might have to track one down for my dragon collection...
