My first Gaslands car.

It's a cheap (69 British Pence) HTI Teamsterz car that looks a lot like a 5th gen Camaro from the front. I think it's the same company as the one that makes the Adventure Force diecasts sold in Asda in the UK and Walmart in the USA.

I have bought about 20 Hot Wheels already, it's very addictive and easier than picking up wargaming stuff since they're so cheap and available.

I think so anon, that car is from Teamsterz, "made" by HTI a UK company, and I don't have a car to hand but the Adventure Force stuff I got also had Teamsterz on the underside of the cars, so I assume it's all Maisto. I'm a total newfag to diecast so thanks for putting a name to it.

I'm actually trying to stay ignorant and just pick up cars I like the look of, rather than yearning for a collection of certain ones. I made an exception for the Sharkruiser but could only find it in an awful red and yellow scheme.

Yeah, the HTI website just goes round in a loop with no catalogue to be seen, it does seem to have had one in the past though.

But they are somehow related. The Teamsterz car (the painted one) doesn't have a logo on it, but the Adventure Force ones do have Teamsterz logos on the bottom.

What it might be is this: until it was sold a few years ago, Asda was British Walmart. Both supermarkets still use the same Adventure Force branding for a whole range of cheap boy's toys, not just 1:64 diecast cars. In the UK it's HTI that supply these cars, but in the USA it's Maisto. Maybe.

Has anyone ever seen a 2004- first generation (facelift or not) Suzuki Swift in 1:64 or 1:72 scale?

I would like one since I've had the real car ever since I could drive. Pic related, same colour but right hand drive.

I've seen the right design in larger scales, and also later generations in the right scale, but am yet to come across one.

Anyone got recommendation for 1/64 or 1/72 military die cast? Matchbox used to have 1/70 ish Stryker and Abrams but they stopped doing it. They really hope they make m-rap in it's actual scale since they have both the license and series lines for it.

Dug out my first Chicane. I believe it's a trackset exclusive. I can't remember the set name though, but I know I had it. It was a snake which acted like a loop with a gate in the form of its tongue blocking the way.
Before someone brings up the one from HW Unleashed, no it's not that set, this was atleast a decade before that and it doesn't end with a corner.

Siku should have some good ones if you like Bundeswehr stuff, but I don't know how widespread their diecasts are outside of the Germany/Europoor area.

I just bought this for $80CAD (pic from internet). Imported from some Australian shop. Why is sourcing diecasts like these greenlines and autoarts so weird? Am I supposed to be looking at markets the cars were released in? Or the country that the company resides in?
Did I miss this somewhere cheaper in Canada/US? It seems like these release in some countries and not in others. I don't think these were ever sold in North America.
It's pretty annoying that despite searching for Mad Max diecasts for hours I only found out about this Mad Max Monaro existing from some old YAJ listing.

Honestly with Auto World you can't really go wrong. Every die-cast car they make is done very well. Decent interior design and detailing. Great paint apps, and 99% of the time awesome tires and rims. Their pick-up trucks are the best, nut their muscle cars kick ass too!

I just bit the bullet and ordered some tools to take them apart. Was a bit of hassle trying to find the europe available equivalent stuff in my home tongue namingconvention. (especially as i'm a craftlet outside drawing )

Even as a kid i wondered if i could fix up all the cool old cars i found that wouldn't roll anymore. Especially after the traumatic event of one of my favourite offroad cars falling apart from the vibrations of driving it miles and miles across italian bumpy poured concrete fencing.

Let me reword that a little bit.
In the States we have Target, and they have a store exclusive variation of cars called Red Editions. Which usually have their colors swapped to match Target's brand colors.
Because it's a store exclusive and Amerifats think scalping and speculating is better than honest work, none of these uncommon but not rare cars get picked off before most people go looking for these.
(and now that I just rechecked the wiki I forgot the Red Edition for that Triumph was black in color not red)

Ever since I got into customizing cars I've cared less if the base was plastic or not. Truth is, current bases are designed to be rather solid and sturdy despite the material used and are pleasant to tinker around.
My stance with metal puritanism changed a bit when a 70s Corgi casting of DeTomaso Mangusta literally crumbled into my hands. Being metal didn't help a shit. Wasn't even china "quality", but made in GB.

Why WOULD you put on a hood? This way you can work on every single internal of your car at once without having to rummage around the engine bay. Imagine. No tools stuck in unreachable places. No need to shine flashlights all over the place. No need to get under the car to work on it.

It's for high speed drag racing. The body is basically just a protective shell at that point, and the chassis is entirely custom, so building it to lift off like that in a single piece is the most practical solution in terms of efficiency and weight reduction. Typically it's just a fiberglass shell that serves the purpose of protecting the driver from debris and making the car look like an actual car instead of a supercharged pipe frame, which is basically all it is.

Mixture of Hot Wheels, HTI Teamsterz, Zuru Metal Machines (which despite the name have a plastic body) and some other random shit. Cheap Tractors were from Poundland, 8 big wheels for £1 is cheaper than buying resin conversion sets. No idea on the weird blue monster truck thing, my coworker gave me it and the F350 bless her.

Also while sure the plastic feels cheaper than Hot Wheels. The wheel quality is more consistent. I've had many defects on Hot Wheels over the years where i had to buy duplicates (about 25 or so), Matchbox I only had about 5. Sometimes though some Matchbox castings tend to have wheel axel issues where your car goes left or right instead of straight (biggest offenders I know for castings are the 2014 Chevy Silverado and 2006 Honda Ridgeline if you play with them), Hot Wheels has this problem too though for decades like Matchbox did.

I'm confused. Matchbox has just been making real life version of many cars, whether sports, plain daily drivers, trucks, exotics, etc with reslistic real tires, the bread and butter of what Matchbox is supposed to be. Were you referring to 00-05 with hero city or 2012-2018 where they fell back making zero licensed cars pretty much (or what I mean is they did but most of it was adventure generics). Really sucks to see accusations of Matchbox ripping off Hot Wheels or whatever. They're in their own lanes but Mattel does blend them a bit more now (Hot Wheels doing more plain decos on cars), but still have the same goals for designs and decorations intact. Matchbox was and still is the OG.

Yes I fucked up when I was putting the pictures together.
These are all my MAJORETTES.
The race car, fire truck, and police car also have SONIC FLASHERS written on the bottom. You used to be able to push down on the wheels and they would light up and play a siren. Only the police car still works though.
I just remembered that they did that from my childhood. I'm surprised one of them still works.

thanks. i've picked up a handful of cars since then and quickly realized that most don't really do it for me. the occasional hot wheels has cool colors but i'm not into their original designs and have ended up leaning into matchbox. immediately after i got that car from drive the prices went up and i don't see the value there, but now that i'm in i check the pegs now and then.

Damn I like the look of that entire 5 pack actually, I’ll have to watch for it in stores. Thankfully around here 5 packs tend to get overstocked in a way scalpers won’t touch them because they would have to drop a couple hundred bucks in a single store to clean off a shelf

I’m not sure i consider myself a mass collector though. I don’t buy everything just because I don’t have it. But I do buy things I think look cool, which has led to a very large accumulation. It’s a cheap and small scale enough hobby where you can not realizing you are passing the thousand mark until long after it happens

I've been collecting since I was a kid and at a certain point I quit opening them thinking I was preserving them. Now I have a couple hundred cars still on the card. I can't decide whether to display them on the card on the wall; or to open 'em up to touch and look at them better.
I've got more open from when I still opened them. Here are some classic pony cars. The GT500 convertible is one of my favorites.
