Ended up buying another Medicom Real Action Hero from Fate. She was about 75 dollars cheaper on the vendor than everything scalpers on eBay were asking. Still not the original price. Mandarake didn't have her either. I hope I can go to a miniature store locally and get them all doll furniture.

I don't know if the armor will fit, but if it's attached via string you should be fine, but you may have to adjust it or remake the string.
The armor itself should be sturdy enough, it's plastic, but i'm not familiar with the brand
That is the strongest female body available, it is the newest type by TB league /phicen, and nothing else is as big. 3 zero nikaido might be close if they make a full body, but don't count on it. Head should be compatible, if it's too small you'll need to use the standard hot water trick, if it's too big you can use plastic wrap or buy a new neck adapter, any mods you'd need to do are minor.
Only thing that might trip you up is the boobs not fitting the plate male on the new body

Bride Nero. Boxed looks almost mint. Also was curious, should I go to my local doll store or email them about repairing/replacing the bodies? Lily Artoria suffers from R.A.H Arthritis. Gianttoy is normally where I get mine, aliexpress is sometimes good with that, as I got my Cloud from there, sometimes bbts carries the figure too if they can get away with it.

Gianttoy is my primary source but you gotta be quick when the preorder goes up because they can't leave it too long.

How do you guys manage to stay within a reasonable range? I like making wishlits and I always end up in the 200s, which is just not feasible in this scale when most figures cost upwards of 200$ and they take up quite a bit of space. Do you just focus on a few absolute favorites and maybe fill out one or two extras, do you focus on specific franchises or whatever else?

Be way more strict for yourself. I’ve often made wishlists in the past as well but then I force myself to cut that in half, multiple times if necessary. That way you also quickly find out for yourself which ones you truly want. Limiting yourself to certain IP’s can help as well.

Easy, most of the toys you think you want, you don't want. I only pick up designs that really speak to me, or characters whom I am always attatched to, like Leon, or Cloud. You get a better feel for figures you will later discard the more you have been a collector, or alive really.

For me the problem is that I'll probably never get to have the ones I truly love. What are the chances of a proper MGS line? Or a Samus? Something like a new Judge Dredd is likely enough, and I reckon WB will get around a GL movie at some point so that I can get a Hal and Sinestro, but any Vertigo characters like Morpheus, Lucifer and JonCon are longshots. So while X-Men wise I really only love Mags, Xavier, Cyke and some others, I'm more inclined to want a Maddie and a Stryfe too because I'd then get to have a proper Summers Family display. Which is still like 15 figures and worth ~5K.

You're right there. I've actually restrained myself really well over the years, and am in the mid 10s after a decade of collecting, but with more movies and figures being made I have to think about all of my interests.

Right but when you reach that stage. Force yourself to cut that list in half. Then cut that list in half. Imagine that there is an absolute cap on your collection. See what you end up with if you force yourself to choose. That's the stuff you generally really want. Like >>9838331 said, a lot of stuff you think you may want , you don't actually really want and you'd rather find that out beforehand rather than having to sell a bunch of shit off again later. Yeah, I understand you. At first I was close to 300 and I gradually took it down. I'll never have the cash and space for 300 1/6ths, and let's be honest, most of them were longshots. But I was caught in that aspect of trying to represent everything. For example I have an Omnibus/Hardcover collection too, and I wanted at least a figure from each run. Same goes for my vidya, books and everything else. My sure favorites like the FF, Doom, Magneto and the such are locks, and I get to represent the F4, the X-Men, and so on. The problem is when some of my absolute favorites will probably never happen (Vertigo, KotOR, etc) whereas other second stringers could appear down the line. I was big into the DnA Cosmic Marvel Era. Have the Omnis and everything. I'm not the biggest Nova/GotG fan however, I mostly read them for Warlock, Thanos, the FF villains like Annihilus and the High Evolutionary. So the question then is do I buy an HT MCU Nova when he appears, or do I keep that spot open in case someone makes a great Master Chief for example?

I can cut down my list to my absolute favorites plus very few extras to round up some displays, and bring it down to the 50s. Within the decade I think I'll be done too. But then I could spend years passing on things I want, but not love, waiting for those "grails" that might never come. That's what I've done over the years. There was a time I was really into the Brubaker Marvel stuff, but due to financial reasons I never bought the Omnis or any HT figures like Cap or Barnes. Fast forward to now and I don't care in the slightest bit, so I'm glad I never bit the bullet. So you do have to let your tastes ferment for a while and only buy based on genuine interest.

In any case, you are right that if you go about buying things without rigorous rules you'll end up with a cluttered display that'll feel hollow in the end. I'm just trying to find a balance between what I'll realistically be able to get, and what I'd ideally want.

I wish I could be that restrained. If you let me wishlist, Marvel alone would get me to the 40-60 range and that's me being relatively restrained. My problem is that I want representations of everything I grew up with, and it's screwing me up.

As an Ironfag I went with Endgame as it looked the closest to his original appearance. In your case, I think the Avengers version would be the most "representative" MCU wise. For my money, I'm waiting for a sort of anniversary pack with Tuxedo Tony and a MK III reissue. It boggles my mind that they never released a Tony in a suit packed with an armor.

Like, I'd love some more like Yondu and Golden Age Cap again. Just money/space/passion.
Also kinda burned out on comic figures. Threezero is hitting me right though with the Transformers and Dorohedoro guys. Especially since they announced they are doing RotF Megs and Lockdown.
Really, I would love to start doing custom figures since some characters I want will never get done or just wanting to indulge myself with ocs and titty monsters.

LIMtoys are making a line of MGS figures starting with Snake. I forget the name of the company, might be gametoys or soosoo toys, but they made a constantine too. Dredd got a few official and unofficial figures as well. Soosoo hasn't made any GLs yet but they did just make omi man, classic red hood, nightwing and a few others.

Ash was doing seamless bodies but they sucked, these are hard plastic. Height wise they're normally 13 inches tall because long legs and high heels. Sometimes they're a little shorter. Depends on the figure from the line.

Yeah, that's my issue. I love the MK IV, favorite looking suit but the MK VII has the best paint on any iron man suit to me.

I feel you. I've not bought much CB-stuff as my main wants were always X-Men/FF related plus random one-offs (90s edge Marvel like GR, Vertigo DC, etc). Even as a huge Strangefag I've skipped all versions and I'm waiting for a better costume.

I tend to avoid 3rd-party. The LIM Arthur is great, but all others are just subpar in my eyes. And where I live I pay 30% taxes plus shipping. I want the assurance of an official release.

Honestly, yeah. Cyclops was always my favorite and between him, Xavier and Magneto, the reason I read X-Books. My favorite villains were Sinister and Apocalypse, Jean was my waifu, Cable was my 90s guy and then he got me into Deadpool and so on. I've erased all other X-Men I like such as Rogue, but the Summers Tree I want.

well then, you're at a loss, most 3rd parties are as good or better than the real thing nowadays.
The last few figures I ordered were all 3rd party Gametoys, and all are better than official figures.

This is what I mean, you going "eh I might as well add 1000$ to the bill" is not gonna help you. You get the ones you really want and would hate to not have and forget the rest. Better for display, better for the wallet, better for the mind.

keep it down to what you really want, and that's i t. Most good one offs are from games now, gametoys and lim make figures better than retail shit like hot toys now, and they're limited releases.

I don't believe that. The materials are worse, the sculpts are always softer. They're good enough, but most are barely passable, let alone "better than the real thing". Yeah, things like the recent Last Samurai figures are great, but then you have obvious toys like those Phoenix Joker things. They're all toys, not high end figures. Granted, same could be said for most HTs, which is why I'm not buying much. I've still not bought a single Wanda because they all feel like Barbies with plastic clothes. But I haven't seen any 3rd-party alternatives that blew me away.

The Keanu is a soft sculpt, but everything else soosoo puts out has been high quality, gametoys, lim and soosoo are some of the best companies out there. Hell the recent iron scavenger Vulture blows the hot toys one out of the water.

You can cope by saying the official ones are always better but if you're gonna bitch about spending too much you might as well pay a custom tailor to make better material clothing for your figures.

Not him but depends a bit on your definition of third party. There's small runs of characters that are done by small "studios" that have always been a years ahead of the HT and such in terms of quality. Of course you'll generally also pay more for that.

Sadly a common injury with Medicom figures as he said is the joints, in my Saber Lily figure I have to be extra careful with her right shoulder. While DAM doesn't make 6 inchers, LIMTOYS made the 6 inch Leon and will probably make Claire while some other company made a really cool 6 inch hunk you can still pre order I think.

I would say consider getting the 12 inch anyway, then sell in a couple of years if you don't like it, provided our world doesn't fall apart.

three zero is high output, but lower quality for cheaper price, sometimes they put out expensive feeling stuff for cheap, but the last thing of theirs I bought was Genos and he doesn't feel all that sturdy compared to older releases. I haven't handled the dorohedoro or berserk figures though, hear they're better. That being said, their tailoring is top notch and if the bodies do break you can always pick up a better spare.

i had to get a leg replaced. came broken out the box. threezero were pretty good with getting it shipped out once id registered it though.

it has made me nervous of the joints now though and i had a hard time with his shoulders so had to use a bit of silicone oil.
