For those confused about how elita's transformation works, Floro Dery LOVES doing this thing where the front or back of a vehicle opens up and the legs just shoot out.
Here, the front would flip down, and her legs zoom from the back all the way though the new opening in the front.
Then the canopy sinks down onto the seats while the hood flips up, and back, lining it up correctly for the alt mode.
Her forarms would just telescope out of the upper arms and rotate into position, and her head would flip up, and spin around (we're actually looking at the back of her head here)
Understandable why a deluxe couldn't manage such a complicated form.

So, I've been thinking of how they would integrate the 13 primes more reasonably into a storyline that would be toy conducive.
I'd say, you make each prime come with a relic that can ultimately be plugged into a generations styled Titan Iaconus with a proper city mode

Prima - Leader - comes with the star saber, which forms the hilt of Iaconus' sword
Vector Prime - Voyager - comes with Vector Sigma
Alpha Trion - Deluxe - comes with the key to vector sigma (minicon)
Solus Prime - Deluxe - comes with the hammer, turns into a spaceship mode which has a "forge" mode. Hammer plugs into Iaconus to form a pivot for the requiem blaster to attach to
Micronus Prime - Voyager pack which is deluxe micronus and a smaller core class micronus
Alchemist Prime - Voyager - transforms into a SUV/Bulkhead style truck- comes with a hammer that doubles as an energon mug, plug into iaconus and it lights up
Nexus Prime - Commander class, basically a mini combiner. Comes with the enigma of combination, which splits into 4 pieces, each having a combiner port to plug onto limbs of Iaconus
Amalgamous Prime - Deluxe - Modulator with various configurations - comes with the transformation cog. Plug it into Iaconus and it spins.
Quintessa Prime - deluxe - transforms into a squid monster, comes with the emberstone which plugs into iaconus' shield to light up tendril looking marks.
Liege Maximo - POTP styled voyager G2 liege pretender shell with tall deluxe loki-esque inside. Shell becomes various parts for Iaconus (matches the color too)
The Fallen - Leader class with the requiem blaster that plugs into the hammer handle
Onyx Prime - Voyager - turns into a beast, comes with the triptich mask which turns into a battlemask for Iaconus.

That random KO Beast Machines Optimus that came out in 2000 that was more show accurate than any other BM Optimus before air attack. It think they might've gotten the Blast Punch mold partially and cobbled something up, but this was released before Blast Punch. arguably this is the first 3P figure.

Well Metroplex was meant for Diaclone so he was designed as a human base first and foremost.
But yes, titan scale has always been a bit of an issue. Media always has to make them absolutely gargantuan so their base modes are to scale with the other transformers. Titans Return marketing actually sidestepped the issue and claimed titan bases were meant for the little headmasters instead.

Generally accepted to be stuff like the FansToys MP Optimus trailer or fansproject Classics City commander set. Full scale original figures started in 2010 or so but before then there were some things like WST scale figures being done. The Bay movie boom helped a lot.

I knew there were differences already, like the resized Autobot badges, but it still caught me off-guard. On one hand, completely throws a wrench into my plan to throw together the better-painted head and arms onto the body with tighter ankle joints (then throwing the "leftovers" to auction), but on the other hand I can justify owning both (at least until I feel like selling one off)

Still weird that it's not even photo-degradation either, the (on the left) first run's grey is slightly less yellow/green-ish compared to the second run (right, black screws in backpack)

Not really. It died out at the end of the 80s, had an attempted revival that didn't last, had a complete reworking that is only related to old series by background lore with the motif being organic animals instead of turning into vehicles, then some imported anime. It wasn't really until the mid-2000s they bothered doing the 80s stuff again, and even then that was full of new designs and vehicles that simply had the names and sometimes colors of old ones.

Any rules you stick to for collecting are self made and self informed. Sounds like you wanted to keep your classics, but ""had"" to get rid of them for "more accurate" figures.

You could have repurposed them as other characters or ocs, hell they could have been alternate universe versions.
You could have even just had more then one version of so and so characters because they were all cools toys, or decided you don't "have" to "upgrade" to the new more accurate thing.

I think you read into that more than I thought about typing it out.

The only classics figures I had were Henkei Optimus and Classics Bumblebee, and their earthrise and netflix figures are imo better than the originals, it'd be ignorant to ignore though that the classics figures had style so i'm glad when they bothered to repaint them as random nobodies. Universe Inferno is probably the only one from that original classics style I still really like, I plan on getting a few versions to kitbash into a OC so I can still have a version of it on my shelf.

Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Jazz

This was the toy you could point to at the time as the warning that 2012 would not be the same as 2011.
The clearest indicator that budget and quality were taking a major hit.

As a space car Jazz ain't too bad. He's got a cool streamlined shape and lots of techy details.
I really like the inlaid headlights are a neat little feature as well as the half dozen exhaust pipes/afterburners sticking out the top. Vehicles that don't need to fuss about cabin space get do so much more.

The slightly metallic blue paint for the "windshield" and racing stripes looks really nice and they even painted Jazz's rims.
Really the only complaint I can levy against this car mode is about the very visible hands at the back.
Though I'm sure back in the day I could complain a lot more about the small size and light weight.

Six-Gun. His fist mode only fits deluxes rather than voyagers, can't incorporate all his parts in a sane way, and he doesn't plug into Hot Rod or Rodimus as I'd like. They should have made something with Ironwork's engineering that had the modes of something cool. Let you do a clean and classic boots + armthings + backpack for your bots.

Jazz sorta sticks out. Was Jazz present at all in the BB intro?
Here's a fact, Wheeljack is 20% heavier than Jazz.

As you can see; for accessories Jazz only has his little handgun.
Posability is a bit strange. He's got really cheap feeling soft ratchets in his knees and elbows. The left knee has gotten loose but I'm not sure how to fix a soft ratchet.

Pretty expressive ball joint in the neck.
Regularly expressive ball joints in the shoulders and hips.
Ball joints wrists, that's pretty nice.
Swivels in the biceps and thighs, but the thighs are totally restricted for some reason.
No waist swivel.

Not the best deal in the world on Megs' side, and I guess worthless if he doesn't interest you at all, but it's an option. Only way I know to still get the ER OP for about retail.

The jet transforms into a complete robot. The tank merely forms the backpack. Blitzwing's robot wings are essentially fake kibble, his actual jet wings form his legs. He's a normal jet transformer inside a shellformer. Similar to ER Arcee's shell, the whole tank is held by a single pinned hinge.

Also, you can keep Wildrider's car hood intact for a more G1 toy look.

So if there are Hellscream, Hellwarp, Dirgegun, and Thrustinator, shouldn't there be a Hellcracker and RamjetX? The ones I'm picturing in my head are a version of Cybertron Thundercracker reformatted by the Jungle Planet's keys like Overhaul to Leobreaker or the toy-only Optimus Prime and Megatron that is a homage to Cybershark, mixing elements of both the baseline and TM2 versions to have a more Thundercracker feeling with huge hammerhead arm weapon that deploys missiles. The other could be the Predacon Council member being infected with wasp-cooties from Waspinator when he crashlands on Cybertron, hurtling through space for countless years and luckily managed to reached his homeworld. Waspinator explains the entire plot of Beast Wars, so the council figure out their plan for when the Maximals arrive with captured Megatron and how they can use this to advance their goals, but instead Megatron arrives first fully dragon, slaughters everyone in dragon rage of having his goals so close only to be taken away and having all his subordinates traitors or useless. Ram Horn is the only one to survive with his Spark intact because he fell closer to Cybertron's core, and he adopts a new shape and identity as Ramjetsom, which is blatantly just a retool of Machines Buzzsaw to look less cohesive. Probably even works alongside Buzzsaw, being Predacons initially who have a common enemy in the Vehicons.

I consider both to be fun. Unicron is the better of the 2, have a fun tank mode and most of the articulation one might expect in a Deluxe today, really only missing foot swivels.
Quick mix has a gorilla arm in his one are with a hand, but that's so he can lift and get sick gains.
Mixing drum cannon arm is awesome.
