Have you seen the other releases in this line? They have "just a wall" "just a gun" "just a different wall" "just a tower" and "just a bunker" sets for their first round of buildings.
The gate/doorway actually feels like a pretty complete, significant structure compared to some of those, especially if it's paired with a figure and some accessories like most of the others have been.

So those Jazwares Galaxy Squadron figures would mesh well too I guess? Too bad the tiny figures look to gave even less articulation than Lightyear. I was kinda hoping the dianaut/waruder articulation would be standard in the western 1/60 but ah well.

Hopefully. I'm still not jumping in yet because listings for Jazwares' say they are 1" tall but Dianauts are 3 cm = 1.18". It could be a case of rounding to the nearest inch, but then again Lightyear's pilot figures are described to be 1.25".

I don't think thats really true, I just think the builders aren't being creative with the parts. Look at some of the Mugenbine or Ryusoulger builds, now thats creativity at work.

Diaclone is not capable of this because the designs are too busy. The details are too small. On a 2 inch mech they look fantastic. On a 12 inch mech stacked on top of 3 other 12 inch mechs covered in a dozen smaller parts and smaller mechs it looks like absolute shit. It's not about needing to be more creative with it, it's that aesthetically the line cannot support anything beyond it's already large figures.

And thats where they lack in creativity. They're just piling the pieces on and not thinking about the final aesthetic. Having a good imagination and creativity allows you to see these things in advance. Planning is key. Most of these just look like they're goin for the shock value of the size and detail instead trying to create a cohesive look.
I think it can be done, you don't. That brings this conversation to an end.

Is this part of the man hunter series? Google translate gave me two different interpretations, one said “puppet.” Might finally be a proper Mech for the puppets, although it looks very different from the last Mech they promoted. Looks very meaty.

*It seems like they are going down the route of upgrading all of the little mech suits as the new titan-fall tacticool mover mechs (a welcome change imo), so now is probably a good time to get into the line. Big robot base is coming, plenty of stuff to look forward to. Don't worry about the original diabattles because they are crap. Get into the line now with the powered convoy and a bunch of the new suits and vehicles, and as time passes they'll probably release a bunch of 2.0 buffalo variants and more big powered versions, so I wouldn't worry too much about not owning the originals.

You might be able to find Big Powered GV w/ Drills on some retailer on Amazon JP or Rakuten since it was released in December last year. But DA-80 was sold like hotcakes so you'll need a lot of luck.

Everything that's TTmall exclusive or older than a year, you'd have to look for 2nd hand sales on the JP aftermarket.

Greetings everyone.
I'm here seeking some technical help.
A few years back I got myself a Mech Fan Toys bootleg Diaclone Power Suit and it came with a pilot similar to the ones pictured here.
Messing around with it a few days ago I noticed that the hip bar that holds the legs in place, on the left side has partially detached (picture for more details) and his leg is barely hanging on.
The questions is: can I fix this? I have already tried getting glue in there and pushing it back into position, but it will simply not hold in position (my guess is surface area is too small for any meaningful plastic weld to happen).
Has anyone ever encountered this before? Is there any sort of fix?
Also, are replacement pilots available anywhere to buy standalone?

What sort of glue have you used? I know Tamiya's plastic cement has plastic in it to help bridge gaps like that.

You could reinforce the joint by drilling then putting a metal wire across it, but it is very small.

MFT's individual pilot packs were limited in quantity and long sold out.

There's always the official pilot packs and the initial one DA-04 were still warming the shelves.

For a fast and easy and relatively cheap solution I would use two part epoxy clay resin and something very tiny, like a pin, to help you sculpt basically a small underwear like diaper over the joint connection and lower crotch area, then paint it as color matching as possible. If you do it right it should reinforce and hold it and only minimally affect articulation.

The better option would be using metal, a bar and ball situation used for jewelry and replacing both pegs on each side with a bar threading a drilled hole in the center of the crotch. But finding the right size would be a nightmare, so now it's getting welding material or bringing materials to a jeweler and explaining what you want.

No matter what you're really just better off biting the bullet and buying some new (official) ones, as the extra money you spend will more than make up the time that any solution would take you.

I will be honest, the "drill a hole and replace with metal" solution, while theoretically viable, is far beyond my skill and most likely I will simply do more damage, so I'll not go for it.

Anyone know where I can order Hexa Gear replacement parts. Recently received Bump Up Expander as my first of the line and fucked up placing one of the parts and it broke as I tried to remove it. One thing I will give to Diabattles over Battle Convoy. With DB, you cam still access the arm rails when the backpack is on. With Convoy, you can only swap out something on the rails with the backpack off. Which is annoying considering the rail-to-peg adapters on DA-88 make you want to use the rails more.

Very unlikely. There is a tiny chance that they'll do an 'Alpha Plus' version like Diabattles, but I wouldn't count on it.

I like how the rifles are molded at an angle so you can pretend they are holding it with both arms. Still wish they had feet magnets, it's a pain to balance them with the backpack on.

The bikes have slots where the handlebars for you to secure the rider firmly, but the slots don't fit everyone. RIHIOnauts' hamhands are too big. Emonster's fit loosely and these infantry troopers have only one free hand. KO dianauts fit perfectly so I'll probably be giving them the bikes. Also while it's nice that you can attach the backpack to the rear of the bike, it looks silly with the cannon pointing at the rider's back.

Scratch that. The hands are designed to be jammed further into the slots than I thought. Once they are in all the way, one hand is enough to secure the rider. Backpack position still looks lame without the a cannon pivot.

Where and how did you order them? I got the initial batch of the tan ones but it was a huge pain in the ass, curious if there's a better way now. Love them, I ordered some tiny bar magnets and drilled the feet to give them magnets like everyone else.

I've thought about doing that I'm still not confident about drilling 1mm holes. Maybe I'll look into gluing magnets on the outside like some sort of exosuit leg-braces.

The Astrobots ladies Athenia and Artimis (yes, those spellings, perhaps they want to trademark the names, otherwise it just looks like engrish) are finally coming out soon. They're apparently going to be up for preorder as early as today/tomorrow. They'll be out in Oct/Nov. Apollo will be getting a reissue as well.

I think they look ok, and I appreciate the uniqueness between the two. At this point I can't say they quite live up to the original 2, but still nice enough. I think I prefer them to the original concepts. Athenia vs Athena I definitely prefer, with some fun colors.

You may be thinking of the (sadly) canceled Oblivion Land Krivo (Astrobots repaint/remold). This line was always listed as 1/12. Last we saw these 2 they were probably around 5-6" tall. Of course, they're all robots with no frame of reference, so scale functionally doesn't matter with them. This picture also has the size of the figures all over the place, like the 10" looking Argus.

They’re all great silhouettes, but if they had as much trouble getting Krivo alone off the ground (and are preoccupied with the insanity that is ArcheCore), I doubt they’ll come around on these designs. A shame, because Krivo is excellent, albeit slight improvements on the already-great Astrobot body.

It's off a JP twitter account, sorry, but the arms are standard Big Powered under there, so should be fine, if a bit limited by the 'shoulder armour' Legs should be good, might need to do a bit of faffing with the stuff hanging off the waist to make not look awkward..

Sharper details with more accurate models, worse paint, more lightweight plastic.
Also the figures seem designed for the sole purpose of being pilots whereas action fleet has the smarts to make little figure and creature packs and playsets, so it was a total complete toyline vs apparently just replica ships.

My guess. Other than Cosmo Roller all other parts will be attachments to different parts of the Robot Base.
Since they even say "collect all to prepare for the Robot Base" I assume they will have a couple more small robots/vehicle sets before launch the main dish. So it will be the collectors' responsibility to get EVERYTHING to complete the base.

Turns out the be the BEST guardian robot among other units loaded inside the Robot Base.

This, there's very little 1:60 stuff with seats that Dianauts can actually sit it because they're thicc as fucc. They've got the same problem as Peter Weller did in Robocop, most things aren't built to accommodate armor plated humans. So any scene you see Robocop sitting in a car, he's not wearing the bottom half of the costume.

RIHIO Multiabyss stuff are good for that since they are close enough to Diaclone but feature a distinctly different aesthetic. You'll need some creativity for custom builds if you want to fully mirror Diaclone forces, especially when it comes to bases and 9"~10" robots not covered by RIHIO's official builds.

I have a small collection of Mega Covenant troops to match my powersuits. They are furry aliens but they still use guns 'n' nades so the fight is more symmetrical. There are also larger figures from other brands available.

Size comparisons, do note that Bandai's are static figures and two versions of Buzz are included, one is seated the other is standing. The standing-posed one fits in Diaclone powersuits.

The great thing about Rihio is that they're cheap. So you can build a "proper" Diaclone army and still have an affordable enemy to pit against them.

Some Transformers also work pretty well. Like the bootleg MFT Omega Supreme, Hailstorm, assorted Shockwaves, Darkmount etc. Hell, for what Diaclone cost, you can get a Titan as some sorta endgame enemy super weapon. Black Zarak at the original retail would only set you back a 2-3 Diaclone units (depending on which).

I personally like getting bootleg or NECA Kaiju to go against my tiny mech armies.

Brunt works pretty well as a generic enemy giant robot. And aside from Starscream, the War for Cybertron deluxes actually scale pretty well. I know 'cause I've had WfC Soundwave be piloted by a MegaBloks Halo, which sorta look like big powersuits for Dianauts. Shockwave and Megatron are futuristic enough that they can pull off being in scale. Starscream probably won't fit because his cockpit would indicate he should be a bigger scale. Or hey, you could get Trypticon.

I think the more important question is, why NOT three Shockwaves?

But also, I actually like this Shockwave and I was able to get the additional 2, relatively cheap. So I have 1 fully decked out Shockwave, with his left arm blaster cannon type dealie and a backpack, one Shockwave with dual gatling arms and the last Shockwave gets the last backpack.

There really isn't any answer other than "Spending lots of money"
There's a subset of Diaclone collectors who seem extremely prone to this kind of 'flex'

Testing some cheap 1:50 furniture. Literally $3.50 for whole bunch. They work with the inchmen as well as what you'd expect from something oversized (seat is too deep, feet can't touch the ground, table is chest-high). Looks like good custom-fodder though.
