So besides toys, what other items do you collect?
Stamps and coins seem quite common but I wanna see something a bit more out there.

I used to collect zippo lighters 26+ years ago. Probably have some still packed away in storage. Remember that I had some bought with 'camel cash'. Now, the only other thing collected besides some toys is dust. I'm old.

I collected sew on patches for a long time. Mostly ones made by /k/ommandoes. They ended up pretty expensive once it took off but they are cool and I enjoy them. Can't afford it now.

I also collect dice. Which started off fun and cheap and I have possibly over a thousand but a wierd aftermarket has developed in America were generally women spend absurd amounts of money for particular sets. Like hundreds of dollars sometimes for a single dice. Some that I actually have and all but I opened them threw em all together in an old Band of Brothers VHS tin. It seems to be a culture of social media signalling and comment auction wars. An anon once explained it to me that until 2010 or some date or other they were made with sparkle flecks of some material that is now rare and valuable but was such a display of nihilistic consumerism I stopped.

I have a dice bag for every game I play that never really change so essentially once I started actually playing games I had no need of mindless dice hording.

The dice itself is rare because it has speckles or the fucking speckles these use become a rare material?

Also, i collect comics, DVDs/BDs, vidya, art (prints, posters, cards, books, sketch books, and even original pieces), and i guess books
Hard for me to even consider books and DVD/BDs as collecting, since that's just consuming media. It's pretty different from actually hunting down speciific comics, trades, or video games, when I'm so casual about just watching a movie or reading.
It's like when someone saying one of their hobbies is watching movies or tv shows. That's as common place as eating, yet people count "enjoying films" as a hobby.

IF we count just having a stack of the same shit, does that mean i also collect magazines because i have a bookcase and boxes filled with Wizard, Toyfare, Time, White Dwarf, and video game magazines?

i took up boxing a few years ago and discovered goodwill is a great place to find brand new boxing gear (along with any other sports gear) thats only been used once

because of this I've accumulated a fair amount of boxing gloves and speed bags to the point it's arguably a collection

it's just hared to ignore a 40 dollar pair of gloves for 5 bucks

I collect too much shit. I got around 100 pins but that's small in a foldable thing. I have a few dozen art prints I buy at cons. I collect comic books and manga which is my main thing. I have thousands and I always try to get them signed by writers or artists that I like. Now I have over 100 toys and I guess Vidya on my PS4 since I have over 150 games now

I collect things that are green. Usually trinkets and little figurines that happen to be green. Then there's my collection of pins and then my collection of magnets from places I've visited. I also have a drawstring bag full of odd coins. They consist of mostly foreign currency I've found, tokens, and a good number of these little golden medals that you can buy at various tourist traps.

worst flavors they've done in the past are the "mystery" VooDew flavors they've been doing annually. they taste like base mtn dew formula with nothing in them--but the most disgusting flavor is the 'Baja Flash' they're doing right now. pineapple coconut notes; reminiscent of Malibu liqueur and a bad night on cruise. didn't even bother trying their gingerbread flavor, "ginger snap'd", you've got me fucked up. they also did the birthday cake flavor which i'm certain tasted like nothing but pure confectionary sugar. there is also a flaming hot flavor which is sitting in my fridge and due to all of the above atrocities, i am too scared shitless to put inside my body.

on a positive note, the best flavors i've ever had was the sour grape Pitch Black II which was only available into the late fall of 2004. bit of a controversial pick since a lot of people hated that one. i drank at least 50 gallons of it i'm sure. Maui Burst was only sold in dollar general, rather liked that one, forget how to describe it. Spark was exclusive to Speedway before it was added to the official permanent lineup, it's pink lemonade. breaks away from the mtn dew formula a bit, quite refreshing. also rather liked mtn dew violet, exclusive to japan, imported to FYE chains for a limited time, quite expensive and rare now i believe. it tasted of grape soda with elderberry added. not quite as sweet as american mtn dew. fantastic beverage.

This was one of the most interesting posts I've read recently on 4chan, thanks for your opinion. I rarely drink sugary beverages (and I live in Canada so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get these) so I wasn't even aware of the variety of Mountain Dew drinks.

The machine at my job just stocked the Spark flavor of Dew, I'll probably try that as a curiosity as somebody who has never drank Mountain Dew in over a decade and doesn't remember how it even tastes like. Do they all taste like a flavoured Mountain Dew, or is it their own separate taste under the same brand?

Spark is a good pick. pretty tasty and easy to find now. in the case of the taste, the majority of the base ingredients stay the same throughout the brand, apart from their kickstart soda/energy drink hybrid things, so i would say almost all mountain dew tastes like a flavored mountain dew to me. ironically i think the original mountain dew flavor is the most stand-out from the rest of the flavors and doesn't have this template taste i'm referring to. people tell me they just don't like drinking original mountain dew anymore when there's so many better varieties to buy instead and i agree. another good flavor is LiveWire, orange soda. so the logic goes if you've got LiveWire next to it the cooler, why would you buy the original flavor?

if i had to pick one permanent production flavor that's closest to "template mountain dew" flavor it's probably White Out. it's available in canada. most of their permanent lineup should be. they've also been doing special franchise collabs where they make new flavors exclusive to one store to use the popularity of the mountain dew brand to drive commerce to them. if you have a Circle K gas station nearby, there's a berry plum flavor called Purple Thunder exclusive to them right now. it should be in bottles and in the fountains there. was tasty, but wouldn't buy again-tier.

also another runner up for worst flavor would probably be mountain dew ice cherry. the original ICE flavor was lemon-lime with a bit of real juice added, less caffeine, and both variants were transparent. this cherry variant was this base formula with cherry flavoring injected instead of lemon lime and i remember it being pure migraine-inducing terrible. just remember the worst hangover of your life and all of the mixed drinks that came before it. putrid.
